Why many Modern Anime got so many Harem, Ecchi, School Rom-Com, Moe, Fujoshi shows and Wish Fulfillment shows all the time?
| Nothing really scientific explanation or research ever done aside from jotting down information I gathered from the net. I did some research before and as you may know, Japan has higher rate of suicide and 70-80% of those are male. But in past few years the suicide rate is declining in past 20 years. So I tried to narrow down possible things that happen on that 20 years and I found out that hentai/ecchi themed anime was starting at that time. As far as I remember 1984 was the year the first hentai was produce and the suicide rate for men started to decline steadily on 90's But before that why Japan has a high rate of sucide in the first place? Answer is their CULTURE, After WW2 in 1945, there is major backslash on their economy that many of companies decided to close because of the recession, that primarily cause the high suicde of japan though they have it already in their culture, But that culture is steadily changing too, In 200's suicide rate goes up again but start to plummet again 2005, and as far as i know, fan service start to shine at the years 2003 above. I really don't think it's not related to each other at some point So my conclusion is this, anime these days with ecchi or fan service are just form of escapism, and that can be indirectly or directly related in the decline in the suicides in japan. So as long as there is market for that I think they'll continue to produce more of them. I mean personally as long as someone is finding their own enjoyment on a show regardless what it is, it's acceptable and if that form of entertainment can save a one or a few of people that can be great. My point of view of Escapism is this , A human can live only on reality is not a human after all, Escapism is human self defense mechanism, if you try to eliminate that escapism of yours then I think you only see the dark side of the world. Did you know back in the 1980-1990`s era that school slice of life anime are very very rare right? That`s the time period where many teenagers commit suicide because their school life sucks and their grades are very low. Starting on year 2000`s and beyond is where the Anime Industry must make more School Slice of Life anime so the Teenagers must watch it, School Slice of Life anime is the reason why to show how fun is School to prevent IRL Teenagers to commit suicide. Many Single Japanese Men are lonely and they ended up committing suicide. Most Single Japanese Men ended up watching more Moe, Ecchi, Harem anime and they claimed that anime girls are their waifus. It was the Anime Industry`s plan to prevent Single Japanese Men from Committing Suicide. Everyone knows that the population of Japanese people are declining very fast because it has the world`s most highest committing suicide rate and the amount of Birth Rate is dropping rapidly. Final Conclusion : If Harem, Ecchi, School Rom-Com, Moe, Fujoshi shows and Wish Fulfillment shows don`t exist, it may cause millions of Committing Suicide until Japanese people went extinct. Mystery has been solved. If Elitist want more good thought-provoking mature anime, then get rich and make your own Anime studio in America/Europe then adapt more good manga into anime in your own studio, problem solved. |

| Well I think nowadays anime became more commercialized and focused on more narrow audiences. To sell BD well anime creators need to please these audiences. What is sold best at the present stage? Idol anime such as Love Live! and Idolmaster, and anime about boys-idols for girls (actually never tried to remember how it's named). Shaft anime shows such as Madoka and Monogatari are the BD bestsellers of all time. Also narrow audiences such as Kantai fans buy anime targeted on them well. Making harems and moe anime is the easiest way to get average BD sells. They are far from 80 000 as Monogatari, 40 000 as Idolmaster, 20 000 as Kantai, but usually let sell from 5000 to 10 000 BD copies, which is not so bad at all. That's why wish fullfilment at the first place now. | Moe has saved people worldwide and it sells everything it touches even the necessities. Fujoshi support their anime and other media rabidly, so that's why you'll see more of those kind of anime. Wish fulfillment is here to stay because Japanese men aren't dating and the women are doing the same because they don't want to date or aren't interested in Japanese men at all. |

| so, what were you trying to say fist, that anime is a tool for someone, people to escape from this bullshit reality. that is corret imo. because same with me too. and second. i agree with that. you don't accept the way japanese make anime ? then make your own studio. you get money to live and, you can adapt or make the anime that you want. happy life right ? but please at least use japanese dub too if someone try to make it. for the people who have an idea of a story, can even make their own LN. or manga if they can draw. |
