Besides people leaving cable/satellite tv to transition to services like netflix and hulu, has anime replaced television for you?
EDIT: I accidentally pressed enter for the poll before I could put more options.

Only TV channels I regularly watch nowadays are National Geographic and Discovery Channel .If I didn't watch anime I'd probably watch more but I watch anime mostly because I find mostly trash on TV .

This.
I only use my TV for my Homeconsoles (PS4, PS2, SNES, Dreamcast, etc). I stopped watching TV since 2008. I get my anime needs via stream on the internet.

I don't really watch TV other than the news. I watch TV shows, though, but normally on my PC.

Don't watch TV at all besides sports. Anime is a kinda new thing for me and i gave up on TV a long ago, so no it didn't replace it. Though my main entertainment for years before anime were books and anime has pretty much replaced them.

I don't even pay for cable anymore now that I pay 90 dollars a month just for my high-speed internet. I still watch Conan O'Brien, Rick and Morty, and Game of Thrones, but I guess that's heavily outweighed by the amount of anime I watch throughout the year.
I'm also filled with pure-hearted ulterior motives.

YouTube replaced television cause gaming is what I spend the majority of my time on. Other than that when I'm in my anime mood I watch a few shows before getting sucked into a game and forgetting anime for like half a year again. So no not really, but fuck TV.
*Cringey anime weeb stuff*

eventually, as the very first reply said, Internet replaced my TV, not anime
i only recently got into anime again, after many years of not watching any (except slayers and YYH which were my childhood faves)
not that anyone cares about individual replies in this blogthread

I never had cable so anime hasn't "replaced" it. I never liked the idea of watching stuff on TV although I used to watch more Western TV shows on the internet before I started watching anime.

even when my tv is running all the time when i am at home, i only watch some reruns on it (the big bang theory f.e), tv shows or sport. Sometimes movies if they are good.. rest is for background noises.. i am not so into music.. more a series/movie etc junkie/nerd.

but i am watching 80% of my stuff online.

i bet half of this new gen hipsters with "no tv / never watch tv" are just liars and only want to sound cool, hip and smart :P

My parents never got cable. It wasn't about the price it was just because they knew they would never watch it. Since I grew up without TV I don't have any experience in how it works so I would never care to try it.
