I watched this horror movie recently. It's called The Haunting in Connecticut and basically, the family moves into this haunted house that has a creepy story behind it. Pretend you're running low on money at the moment. You need a place to live but rent in a normal place is expensive. If you knew that this place had many suspicious things and a creepy backstory behind it, would you still take the offer?

If you don't believe in the supernatural, let's change the scenario. This is the house where a serial killer killed tons of people in and roasted their bodies there. Would you take up the offer still?

I don't believe in 'haunted houses'. 100% of the haunted houses that I've come across in real life were just houses where a lot of bad things happened and just because of those per chance happenings, people called them 'haunted'. In the house next to mine, a 3 year old girl was suffocated to death by the maid of that house 14 years ago (a year before I moved into this house). So, there were all kinds of rumors going around about that house. But Goddammit a family lived there for 7 years and not a single fucking thing happened.

lol pretend

Depends on if there's anything that can harm me or not. If not then fuck yes, I doubt the ghosts or whatever could disturb me more than my current neighbours do.

It's just the stigma. I remember when a thief broke into our house but my father came home on time. The thief had a gun so my father had to let him go. The storage room which he broke into was then purported, by my superstitious mom, to be 'haunted' or 'accursed' or whatnot. I was the only kid in the house who went in there without any reluctance and felt....nothing. What happens, happens. What is to come, will come. There's no point in fretting over the smallest shit in life.

If I got to own the house Id do it in a heart beat.

If there were still blood stains in the bedroom and remains buried in the backyard Id be a little skeptical.

No way. One of my girlfriends, lives in a supposedly 'haunted' house and it's horrific every time her parents go outside and she has to be alone. She's always calling friends (me included) to go there and take her outside. She locks herself in the second floor until someone arrives, because in the first floor you can hear steps and doors being opened. I honestly don't know how are they still living there.
Some people might not get scared with that, but isn't kind of a hassle after all? Dealing with all that... ugh no.

If you don't believe in the supernatural, then that isn't a problem either. It's not like the people killed are going to come back for vengeance. The only problem I can think of is if the house wasn't properly cleaned and still smelled like burnt corpses.

Look at the amount of homeless people who die versus the people who are killed from ghosts.

Yeah I'd live in a haunted mansion, no doubt

Bye bye sleep

My friends say that my home is a bit creepy. They've seen people and animals here, that doesn't exist (any more).
I don't agree at all though, this is a great place.

you could turn it into an attraction and let people to pay to visit the haunted house. perfect for halloween.

ot: I can definitely be convinced that paranormal things do exist and I don't think I like them, so I'll just find a nice bridge to live under.

I'd live in a haunted house even if I weren't broke. I'd love to harass the ghosts, that would be my new thing instead of harassing you fine people.

No, that wouldn't work out too well for me.
While I do not believe that ghosts exist, if I was in some spooky old house with a spooky history all logic would vanish and I would freak out at every bump in the night. I'm very easily frightened and not very logical when I'm put into frightening situations.

If I absolutely needed a place to stay with nowhere else to go and couldn't move to another state/country then probably. But the first time something suspicious happens, I would leave.
