If that Happen they will ruin Story and Lots Action Badass will not show up and there many boss enemy to and new Characters might not appear.

All Fans from Game and Anime will get Mad and Bashing This Anime.

How they gonna put all story from this in 13 episodes not enough so short they might cut some part Story very important not Show Up like Happen Others incomplete adaptation Anime.

You can't blame the studio for the source material they choose to adapt. Ufotable has been adapting and doing animes fine. It's the source material that you find is the problem, which isn't ufotable's fault here.

Actually you said it yourself, the studio chooses the source material it adapts. So if Ufo continually chooses source material that is difficult to adapt or is just plain shit, then Ufo is clearly to blame for choosing such source material in the first place.

And to everyone trying to explain how Lenka was able to walk after being stabbed by saying the wound was parallel to the spine, I guess the joke's on them now.

Despite how slow this episode was I surprisingly still enjoyed it.

We get to see more of Alisa's past. And ouch, that is traumatizing. Though I dislike that she kinda became a damsel in distress in the end, it's okay to show strong characters showing a weak side. It makes them more real in a sense of a character in a fictional universe.

I have to give Lenka some pointers too. He just kept going even though his God Arch was useless. To even out the damsel in distress part, even Lenka couldn't save Alisa and himself. He really was giving up and accepted that he can't win. Lindow didn't just saved Lenka and Alisa, but also remind Lenka the first rule.

Don't die. And Lenka accepted it.

We see Lenka's frustration of feeling useless without his big ass sword. It shows that no matter how good he is at tanking, it doesn't mean he can destroy the problem. He is imperfect and that is what makes him an interesting character.

I'm glad we are getting more development. So a nice episode! And seriously that animation error at the end. How did they miss that!?

Yes, but that isn't the only thing that factors on how good a studio is. Yeah, it's no Madhouse or MAPPA, but Ufotable still tries hard with what they do. That's some points in my book. I think what I'm trying to say is that Ufotable is fine, it's not terrible (*DEEN*) or lazy (*Toei*). It's kinda above average so like a 6.4/10-8.6/10 depending on your personal views. Personally I give them the full 7.0 for trying to animate something and sort of staying on the original plot but not always using the best directors or keeping the greatest pacing

And really the real problem is not that Ufotable makes bad decisions, but that their decisions rely on other studios paying them to do an adaptation of something.

Like I'm going to be honest right now, Bandai is paying Ufotable to make this adaptation to commercialize the remake of the game (God Eater: Ressurrection) Which I will still get anyway cause I loved playing the games.

Feel like they're gonna skip anything related to Soma at this point, not that we really need to know anything about him but now he's basically just some overpowered dark skin guy.

Quite surprised how long it took them to find it. I would assume the sword is heavy as heck but the current pushed it that far we had to get a montage of them running around looking for it (with music too!)

Not really sure how its gonna go from here but I would assume they'll just rebuild Lenka's god eater in a way you can just count it as 'upgrading' in the game. Lol.

The whole reason they survived the Black Vajra was because of plot armor in the first place lol.

Thought I was the only one that went "what?" on this scene.

So far, God Eater is bumped up into my favorites. It's exciting to watch every episode and the characters are likeable. I'm trying to get the game on my Vita now. I knew about it back on the PSP days, but I never got the chance to play it. I hope it's not too late to catch up now. haha

That's true, choosing good material to adapt is not all there is to a studio, but it is also an important component good that studio is. The way you put it in your previous post sounded like the studio has absolutely no control over the choice of material it adapts, which is clearly not true.

I generally agree with the rest of your post, there are far worse studios than Ufo, which generally has stellar animation and has made some very good anime in the past view years (KnK, F/Z even UBW was pretty good compared to your average anime). But you have to admit, they are doing a very shitty job of adapting this anime, regardless of how good or bad the source material is. You just can't blame the boring characters and non-existant plot purely on the bad source material.

You should take it for what it is. This is an advertisement for the game. Ufotable is not making this as the anime of the season.

Also, could you name 1 good game-to-anime adaption, ever?

Not really, Because if your statement was true, Grisaia and some other Visual novels should be labeled as game and not Novel, since there's a lot of novel on Ps vita and PS2/3/4.

ChickenFry said:

This is purely subjective, because you can name a lot of adaptations that you consider to be good but other peoples don't. For example, I'm loving God Eater since I was expecting nothing, but there are a lot of people who are hating it.

I think we meant actual video game.
I don't consider VN games but electronic books where you choose how the story ends.

Seriously though, looking at the record of shit video game adaptations have gone through (and knowing Bandai Visual pays them to make this anime to commercialize the game), This is like good. I think there are still better game adaptations, but I have not watched those animes nor played the source for them, so don't ask me to name them.

Considering the cliché scene of Rindou saving Lenka at the last moment, and the way Lenka is totally fine after getting stabbed like that in the previous episode, I'm starting to lower my expectations for this show.

But well, it's doing great despite everything, when I remember that it's adapted from a videogame, I can't help but overlook its flaws.

Anohana ! This hide-and-seek part was totally stuck in my head.
I impressed by the CGI, in this show it's amazing. The second part was beautiful with the fight and the water drops.
Even if the story is not exceptional, I think it's interesting and each weeks I'm eager to watch the next episode.

Btw great OST as usual.

Yay! Some new grasps on what's going on! I love the episodes in which some background's given. Really liked this episode an episode #4 :)
Some other details I liked:
  • Lenkah's white shirt finally got dirty (yes, I was quite annoyed with his always white-staying shirt :D )
  • Alisha's doctor must be a really good one as he had treated her mental disorders using ataractics only! I'd strongly recommend him to anyone who needs medical/psychological help (and hope, you've noticed the irony there).
  • I love the opening!
  • Started laughing about fanservice in the series. It's actually kind of funny how often it appears - including situations where I've never thought someone would put it (e. g. reanimation scene). :D

Pretty good episode ... I guess Alisa has to use those pills to treat her flashbacks huh? Seems pretty rough, and the hide and seek thing was pretty well done with those ghostly voices haunting her ... nice moments between her and Lenka as well :3 The music when they were searching for Alisa's God Arc was really good too. The OST for this anime is awesome XD
At the end, Alisa couldn't handle her flashbacks and well, Lenka's God Arc isn't working ... good thing Rindou appeared just in time to save the day huh :P A little cliched but I guess you can't exactly have the two MCs die there >_< Then some flashback scenes as well with Johannes faking that report ... getting good~
