People only start attacking fans if they are obnoxious like praising it to high heaven and insulting every other anime while also thinking they are superior for watching it. LOTGH fans got a bad reputation years ago (before I joined this site) I have heard because some fans were really obnoxious but now it's really died down I think. The stigma seems to have still remained though.

I can't help it. My willy is so small that the first girl I ever managed to take home with me started laughing hysterically and insulting me for being impotent and "not man enough" (I quote). It broke my spirit, so I started watching animu as an escape. I try my best to watch lesser known anime cause then I can pretend to be superior to the lesser, generic fans (fucking plebs). Next time I try to find an anime I'm gonna ask if they can show me the car fax

Just so happens to be that those who often criticize my taste (usually in an "ironic" way) tend to have that same old Top 5 to boot. I'm tired of this clannish behavior but I'm not necessarily in an inferiority complex. I have told some of these people I'm better at life than they are, that shut them right up.

Well first of all, there is no actual bashing, the whole thing with LOGH is just memes. I've never seen someone actually bashing LOGH fans, and be serious about it.

Are you active in movie centeric forums? I doubt it. A lot of movie fans get bashed, Citzen Cane fans get called elitists, The wire fans get called obnoxious because they keep saying it's the best TV show ever, The dark knight triliogy fans, because they say it's better than the comics, etc

This isn't an anime exclusive, it's a people exclusive thing. There is hate for pretty much everything, that is praised a lot, that's why the term overrated exists, that's why the term fanboy wars exist etc Majority of people who are active online in forums probably have low self esteem, and insecurities, talking trash is how they feel better, and elevate themselves, common sense really.

Never seen a hate on Bebop. Frankly, it's such a neutral show I can't imagine one hating on it. But I don't understand these calling it masterpiece either. It's good, just nothing really impressive at all IMO.

yes but I highly doubt my knowledge of anime will help me in any practical situations unless I am interested in joining the anime industry.I watch anime for fun in my free time.There is nothing more than that to it.

I think people hate Bebop because it is the definition of style over substance. Good music and animation with shallow characters and a plot that is essentially 90% filler.

It's episodic with an overarching plot like typical action western cartoons. It doesn't really have filler.The anime fans who hate Bebop I suspect are anime fans who also hate action based western cartoons and only enjoy serial storytelling. The characters are okay to me but could have used greater focus.
