| There are a lot of cliches in anime, and one that I find particularly interesting that no-one else seems to is trains. For some reason, there are so many shows (mainly drama or romance shows) that have a train pass by to build up tension in the scene (and yes, this includes Rail Wars!, but in a different sense ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ). Why is it that trains are so overused in these types of anime, and what is your favourite scene of this type? |

| Trains are usually used for scene-cuts or making so you (or another char) unable to hear what someone is saying. It's overused and annoying. There are two trains I can think of that are done well: 1. AKB0048: Next Stage - freaky psychological space-train in one episode 2. Blood-C: The Last Dark - the opening subway train sequence is epic |

| To build up tension you could pause the moment right before something is about to happen. A train passing by is just one of the many solutions. |
