Is it a good idea for a zombie apocalypse/survival anime to be produced?
| Thats one thing I noticed with the the anime industry. We don't really have any zombie apocalypse anime. Every time they include zombies, it is turned into something completely different like for example Sankarea (zombie romance) and Kore Wa Zombie Desu Ka? (MC is a zombie, comedy). The only one I can think of is High School of The Dead, but even that one didn't take it ltself too seriously (but it was fun to watch). Western zombie apocalyspe movies and tv shows have been successful so far such as The Walking Dead, Dawn of the Dead, and Land of the Dead. Other ones that didn't take themselves to seriously but were still successful, include Shaun of the Dead and ZombieLand. Its a reused concept but still brings positive results. Would it be the same for the anime industry if they followed this trend? In my opinion, I think it would be interesting to see one. It'd be really interesting to see Japan's take on a zombie apocalypse/survival even if its been turned into an anime. So what are your thoughts on this? Is it a good idea for the anime industry to attempt in making a zombie apocalypse/survival anime? |

| No, its an overused concept and i'm fine with what we have already. (your vote) I personally only like zombie movies that doesn't take themselves too seriously and have comedy in them ( Zombie land , Shaun of the dead ) like you said. I generally hate zombies and the concept of them so I am okay with what we have right now. |

| I like it if there's a good plot. For instance, Highschool of the Dead didn't even gave a reason for the zombie outbreak. I want something like Resident Evil, not like Left 4 Dead. | I'm not a fan of live action horror and zombies are boring antagonists anyway so I wouldn't say I'm a fan of the sub genre. The fact Highschool of the Dead doesn't take itself to seriously and is just plain over-the-top zombie killin' fanservice fun is what makes it so awesome. HOTD was actually entertaining, that's more than I can about other zombie stuff. The fact that it was animated by Madhouse was the only reason I gave it a shot, but hell now I totally want more of this show because not only was the animation good but I liked the characters and storyline were good in addition to the action and fanservice, then there was the epic soundtrack. |

| I would love to see a serious Zombie Apocalypse Anime, that's not just another ecchi, harem and fanservice Anime. A serious Zombie Anime that focuses on survival would be nice, an Anime adaptation of Resident Evil possibly or something similar to it would be sufficient I believe. =^3^= |

| Recently watched Btooom! and the moment i saw MC in forest; in my mind was "the hunger games". Not expecting much, but quite good for one cour anime (did i used the term correctly? 13 episodes anime) I dunno about zombie, but I do want to watch drama / survival anime. One of anime that give that feeling that I could remember was Infinite Ryvius / Mugen no Ryvius. I believe there are more out there, maybe i just forgot about it. *HOTD have boob-bounce-matrix-shot |

But, I don't think it's going to be any different than the million movies already made on that genre. Once you've seen one survival zombie movie.....you've seen them all. Translating it to an anime won't change it that much, it will just make it longer. The Walking dead is prime example.....it's just longer, but nothing changes, the group needs to survive the zombie apocalypse. That's it, there's really nothing more to it. |
