It's like it's a fucking ghost announcement, I found out about it 3 months after it was announced. I'm reading the Demo and man it's one of the best VNs I've ever read, and the full translation is so SOON. Nobody can miss this awesomeness, don't let the generic look deceive your eyes, this is one of the best VNs in the market and it comes in trilogy, which is 50 hours each - OH MAN, So much content!

All it needs:
>Good Staff
>Good Studio
>Adapt the whole trilogy

And we're set to sail in the seven vast open seas! AYE AYE SIRRRRRRRRRRRRR! ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

Wait, is this a harem?

This was under my radar a few weeks ago but I forgot much about it lol, probably because I wasn't familiar with the game. For some reason, I'm also getting some Da Capo vibes.

Yes. One of these better written harem VNs with goldmine of a setting, story, heroines, mc, music, char design and everything. It's also a trilogy, with each VN being 50 hours each.

The main harem point that there's one guy living with 5 female elite high school students in the same dorm, with no other interference in their private time. It's like a man's wet and slimy dream of true happiness.

>Grisaia to Da Capo comparison
It's like comparing a chocolate cake with cream to a hard boiled egg. The fact that the cake is made from eggs doesn't mean it's an egg. They're both Harems, but their quality differs greatly.

I'll give you some nice taste as FREEBIE and LEGALLY:

http://www.tsukuru.info/dl/download.php?id=38

The English Translated Demo. Features enough content to suck you into the story, the setting, heroines and mc. Great introduction! Just 400-500 MB in weight. The download will be ready in no time, and you're set to go. Enjoy Stark700, mah Homie!

Full first VN in the trilogy English translation is a touch away. I just can't wait anymore to read it, so I'm reading the Demo in the meanwhile.

I agree but the adaption will be probably made by some bad studio. Probably 12-13 episodes & rushed.

If Shaft were to make it though... But I doubt it.

We won't know until the Studio Announcement. Who the fuck knows, it might even be White Fox. Shaft might actually do too, as some designs are from Bake. They know how to draw them already, so it's a save in not hiring a staff with extra budget who didn't work on such stuff prior.

It's my best hopes and dreams for such an adaptation.

I just think it's because not a lot of people play VNs and those that do probably haven't touched this particular one.

Another factor is that sadly, a lot of VNs do get turned into anime, but a large number of them don't turn out to be huge successes like a select few do. I mean, that Little Busters anime was on the rave considering so many people were hyped after playing the VN, but now that it's settled, all it turned out to be was just average. A lot of people won't hold their breath if they know nothing of the VN and just read the description. I mean, it just seems like your generic harem to me, so a lot of people probably think the same.

Not knocking it til I try it of course, but that's just probably why you're not seeing the forum blow up on this or anything. Of course, another key factor could be how they adapt it. Will it focus on one route or multiple? If it's multiple, we may see a poor response as one thing I've observed is a lot of people are off-put by anime that do that whole "5 episodes for a girl and then RESET!" thing.

Edit:Thanks for the download link though, I've been playing it and the MC feels a lot similar to the dude from Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei. So far, I'm digging it and still playing. The only thing I facepalmed at though was that they have an enormous school and even a dormitory for just six students, but overlooked that after awhile. I had a good laugh when I first was introduced to Michiru. The whole practicing to be tsundere thing got me good.

Also just making an assumption here, but is there a "true route" like many other VNs sort of have. Kind of like Clannad's main girl is Nagisa, because I'm getting that main girl vibe from Yumiko.

Anyways, putting this on my PTW for sure. I'd like to see how this will work out.

It's only Kajitsu that's 50 hours. The others (Meikyuu and Rakuen) are around 10-30 hours each.
I'm glad that I'm not the only one waiting for the English patch though :D I heard many good things about this trilogy.

Im actually afraid the anime might concentrate on the SoL side of things because this thing has a LOT of SoL.

If it were to cover all of the girls problems, then it should be at least 2 cour..at LEAST..to adequately cover each problem...

Basically what Hidden_Joker said. Also, given the length of the vn (50+ hours), 1 cour is of the question and 2 cour would give a somewhat comprehendable story. If to get a proper adaptation, it probably would be around four cours.

The common route is long. As in 13-15ish hours long. It obviously will have to be cut down/condensed. I'm guessing that it needs at least 5-6 episodes minimum. The thing with Grisaia is that the common route gives hints to the girl's problems (mostly psychological) and their (including Yuuji) reason for enrollment in the school. There are a few developments, namely Yumiko and Makina, that occur as well. It also has a lot of monologues, but cutting 100% of them would kill the fun out of most of the scenes.

On the other hand, I haven't completed the trilogy, furthermore completed one route yet, so I can't say whether the routes can be blended the way Clannad did. I have heard that Amane and Makina's routes pertain to the trilogy while the other do not, so there is a possibility of routes being cut (sadly, like most vn adaptations that follow one route).

Feel free to correct me or something, especially since I haven't even finished a route.

On a side note: If I heard correctly, Frontwing wanted an anime adaptation of the Grisaia trilogy since Kajitsu was released. Given how the anime wasn't green-lit until a few months ago, I'm guessing they're caring about how it's going to be adapted.

Might be the case...seeing this thing is a trilogy, they might just focus on the routes that are central to the overall plot instead of the other routes. Havent tried Yumiko yet, but Sachi and Michiru feel more like side stories....so they really might just focus on Amane/ Makina.

I'd go with:

Chars - Makina > Michuru >> Sachi > Amane >>>> Yumiko
Routes - Amane = Makina > Michuru > Sachi > Yumiko

worth mentioning that the common route itself is actually pretty good though

A three season, 72 episode total masterpiece covering the entire trilogy, entirely faithful to the series and animated by Shaft. If you listen hard enough, you can hear my imagination causing me to drool.

I just hope that a proper studio will handle this. Three 2-cour season adapting the trilogy will be awesome. Plus, I also wonder who will voice Yuuji. It better be a badass voice cuz I imagine him to be like that.

It's not that they don't want to make profit with their work, it's that the logistics of splitting the profits would be such a nightmare that it isn't worth it.

Tens of people contributed to the project over the years, some a very small amount some a ton, and some disappeared. Rounding everybody up to divvy the money would just be horrid.

Totally agree with everything that’s been wrote, I’m not necessarily a huge fan of ero stuff but I’m dead against them redrawing CGs and rewriting a whole route!
And I also don’t really see a point in saying that 12 year olds would be buying this, cuz normally 12 year olds aren’t interested in visual novels and I’m pretty sure that they won’t amount to the number of eroge fans who won’t be buying this

Apparently I was very abnormal for a 12 year old when I was pursuing the anime tiddies through VNs.
