Great episode 4/5 would've been a 5 if Taichi is sorry for hurting Iori. Maybe he is sorry, but we didn't really get to see him like, actually regret what he had done.
And Iori continues to be a strong character.. I admire Iori even more now. She isn't just the cute girl who boys should protect because she's a delicate or sensitive type kinda girl. She's even the one who actually WANTS to sustain the group. Unlike the others who keeps on running away from the problems. She got hurt, but still managed to wear a smile just so Taichi won't hate himself. After that she still has the guts to say "OHIO TAICHI" even though Taichi is distancing himself from her. She's the one who should be mad cause she was only trying to help the two and eventually got hurt in the process.
Though i think when it's the "breaking down" part. It's Iori who'll suffer the most because she's keeping all her emotions inside her. So when it's time she really feels the outburst and has to release all those thoughts and emotions. It'd be painful :( Hopefully it doesn't come to that.
Sadly, Her efforts are a tad undervalued? Based on what i've read here. :(
Let's not focus only on Iori's frustration but the other characters as well. I agree with you on that she's hurting, but logically speaking the person who is most hurt in the moment is Inaba. Inaba was the one who always had the group in stable with Heartseed's gimmicks, now that she has -falling- out, the group is falling apart. Iori is taking the lead on establishing the group again but is not coming the way it should. Yes, Iori is a strong character, but she's not hiding her feelings, she's actually exposing them in a confidence matter, a perfect example would be is: suggesting Inaba to stay in a group for the field trip; this choice of Iori shows that she's concern, in other words, she's not hiding that shows she's worry about the group. Another perfect example would be she's is still going to club; she has hope for the outcomes, she's a optimistic.
Now for Inaba, let's say she's the pessimistic as of now. Though, before of the second gimmick, she always saw the dark side view of the gimmick but still handle the group in a good way with her scolding, but now with the second gimmick she has hurt someone with her scolding in the wrong time and place; and atoning them by not facing anyone face-to-face, however she does not realize that it's just making matter worst ( ep 9 with Heartseed will prove us that theory). As the story shows us Inaba giving them the cold shoulder, and presenting that she doesn't care, well, she really does. I don't know what point of view you have on characters like her, or Inaba as the hurting character, but she's really having it hard. She's bottling up everything and pretending that she doesn't care so the rest of the gang just leaves her alone, she doesn't want to hurt anyone, like she did with Yui. She's taking responsibility with consequence leading to misunderstanding with the audience, and cast, with her actions. I don't know if you remember, but Inaba at the moment doesn't really trust no one ( mention in ep 4), meaning that she doesn't rely her feelings with no one and keeps it in, psychology causing stress to her. Also, I'd hope you notice she also dealing with -guilt- ( ep 6, hidden sexual desire unleashed) , in other words, her feelings for Taichi ? Don't you think that doesn't causes pain for her that she doesn't feel worthy for the guy, mentioning she has low-self esteem, also more pain for her that she likes her best friend's crush, even more reason to avoid them so it won't be unleashed. She really has a lot of crap in her hands and is not doing any good, you'll see how everything would break for her, but it'll come with good results, somewhat I guess.
Now in my last thought for Iori and Inaba, there's really no wrong and right actions there. If you strongly took the point of both of them, you'll see that they're both correct, but also, wrong. We just got to put their shoes for a sec, and try to feel what they're dealing with. But everyone is suffering, actually. Everyone.
As an personal opinion, I can strongly relate with Iori -happy happy- but sad inside, but more with Inaba with - i seem i don't give a shit- but really do.
