Pretty low sales over all. Yay for Achiga, mahjong lesbians are awesome, Toki vs Teru really helped the series. They should make Saki remastered or slt, I'd like to see original anime in better quality. Is it true that Zetman didn't sell at all? Good, Nyarlko fell quite much compared to predictions, not enough though. *4, *3,201 *,*57,487 Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon vol.5 There's no mistake here? O_o |

Yeah, fairly low sales all around. Nyaruko and E7AO definitely underperformed compared to the pre-orders. A shame the sales for this spring are looking somewhat lackluster, which definitely doesn't reflect its quality - now I just have to wonder whether either Hyouka or KuroBas might end up being the best seller of the season... the latter would be fairly funny. |

I think it's quite decent. Of course, its MUCH worse than manga but still better than handful of shows which aired this season. |

Sad thing Nyaruko's sales got much lower than the original pre-orders suggested. Guess that's because not every episode was as amazing as the first one. |

ah finally, spring sales finally start. WOAH! Stalker definitely overestimated Nyaruko-san! I thought it would cross 10k! At this rate, KuroBas will be the one which gets 10k maybe? That would seriously be funny. XD GO FUJOSHI POWER! XDD Inu X Boku and KuroBas prove that fujoshi have money to spend. *o* Now if only I had that kind of money..... Speaking of KuroBas, Character Songs are also rocking it. Now, if JUMP cancelled this manga, they are seriously stupid. I mean, the manga sales went up quite a bit! And unless Stalker is making a mistake with Kurobas' sales(I hope not), I think since nurarhiyon no mago, KuroBas will be the first JUMP anime to sell well. Hiiro...ouch. >_< Well, its to be expected. DEEN made a mess of everything what with derpy faces and animation. Not even the seiyuus could save it.Its your own fault DEEN. I do hope you have learned a good lesson: you don't mess with otome otaku. Let's just hope our dear J.C Staff learns a lesson from this. If I'm not mistaken, I think it was jmal who said it, Achiga hen volume 1 had some kind of event ticket or something? EDIT: oh btw, any idea why Stalker over estimated Nyaruko? |

Yea, I am considering Nyaruko, but Character Songs do say something about the fan base. At this rate, maybe Even Hyouka and KuroBas will only sell 7k? :/ If its another case like nyaruko? But KuroBas has good sales for both DVD and Bluray...does that count as something? Sort of how Inu Boku sells? |

Wow, with Nyarko doing so bad, Spring might not have a single new show getting over 10k. Its been a while since there hasn't been two shows getting over 10k, even if you want to count Fate/Zero (which is just a continuation). |

Yes but it is only around 1000 units - not that much and in normal case it would be failure still as show not aimed at otaku and making 100 million of dolars per year on kids merchandise they don't need to care about it so much (ah and about 20 mln more on movies) *5, *6,254 **6,254 Haiyore! Nyaruko-san vol.1 Limited Edition not the best result I hope this and Girlfriend X will make a bit better soon as I'm already importing those (and thinking about AKB) still over 7500 is a decent result |

Its an anime aimed totally at male otaku, and its projected to sell about 1500 DVDs. If it does one of those big BD/DVD gaps, it might actually sell near 10k. It'll be tough to sell that many BDs in a week without Amazon, though. |

Natsuiro was voted as the most disappointing series of the year in a Biglobe poll. Even if it isn't something official, it does give you an idea of how the fans are reacting to the series. So I don't think is going to be such a strong seller. Which is a shame I must say. We'll have to wait for the other first volume sales, but this season might not break the 5k average. |

So far, Spring season is a little lackluster in terms of sales. Which is a bit of a shame, seeing as how is has a lot of (apparently) underrated shows. This does not bode well for the shows still to be released (Nazo no Kanajo X, Sankarea, Dusk Maiden, etc.) |

Hmm was expecting Nyaruko to sell more. Bit worrying. I hope Mysterioux Girlfriend X, Duskmaiden of Amnesia, and Sankarea sell atleast 5k+ per vol with their mangas getting boosts in sales as well. Especially Mysterious Girlfriend X. Totally underrated show this season imo.. I wonder how Hyouka will sell. It's KyoAni which usually attracts sales, but hopefully it wont end up like Nichijou. |

All very good shows (especially the first two), but none will crack 3k at current estimates. Sankarea is doing particularly awfully despite this being its release week. Ranked #510 only two to three days before release? That's the definition of screwed. At least Nazo and Tasogare have snagged a place in the top 100 this week, even if it's too little too late. I guess Nazo has a small chance to break 3k, but I wouldn't hold my breath, unless DVDs rank somehow for like ~500 copies. The ranking threshold will probably be higher than that though. I wonder how Hyouka will sell. It's KyoAni which usually attracts sales, but hopefully it wont end up like Nichijou. It's definitely doing a lot better than Nichijou ever did. It has had the highest average rank on Amazon throughout the preorder period of any show this season. (55th; Nyaruko averaged 62nd). But I think it'll end up selling about 7k first week, since it hasn't spent a much time ranked very highly (~top 25 or so) like Nyaruko has. You say not even Hyouka would cross ~10k? Man.....I fear for Kuroko now. EDIT: But Kuroko hasn't been that high or that low...both BD and DVD have averaged a good spot right? Accel World's ranking fell too...I think it was in the top 100 but now in the top 200? |

Even if the BD/DVDs don't sell well for those three, hopefully their respective mangas will get a nice boost to justify a second season. As for Hyouka, it's good to hear it's doing decent. Though I doubt KyoAni is worried too much since they have cashcow franchises they could fall back on if they ever need it. They're one of the studios with a lot of flexibility in regards to what shows they do. Just an announcement on a new season for FMP, Haruhi, K-ON, or Lucky Star would shake the industry lol. |

jmal said: Its current DVD score is 1,350 and Nyaruko's is 1,810; we know Nyaruko was overshot about 30%, so the same would put Natsu-iro around ~1k DVDs, since it has a few days to go. Better than some other male otaku shows but if that's, say, ~20% of the total sales then BDs would be about ~3.5-4k for not quite 5k total. Dunno, we'll see in a week. I don't know, I'm even asking myself if it will break the 3k barrier combined. Taking in consideration Amazon Stalker at least. As you say, I guess we'll see next week. jmal said: Hyouka should be fine as long as it doesn't bomb (like, 4k or less), because it's already a success. I say that because the novels have seen an absolutely enormous increase in sales since the anime was announced. The first volume was under 70k before the anime got it into the rankings again (and surely a chunk of that 70k came from the moment an adaptation was announced), and is now going to be in excess of 200k when this week's figures are posted. But how much of this generated revenue actually goes to the Committee of Hyoka and how much does Kadokawa Shoten keeps, that's a good question. I know it's beneficial for the franchise as a whole, but was it beneficial for all the parts involved. |
