You do realize K-ON is one of the most popular anime series after the big three right?

Also, Star Driver was a delightful watch for me. Dragged sometimes, but I loved the cast of characters, especially Takuto. The final episode was also absolutely fantastic imo.

I agree, that show was just really fun to watch because of its high energy despite some of its shortcomings in story. Also it had some of my favorite OP/ED'S in a show ever. They really fit with the show's energetic vibe.

Of course K-ON is extremely popular to casual anime fans, but often times admitting to more hardcore anime fans (such as my circle of anime-watching friends) that you like K-ON is the equivalent of social suicide.

Biggest case for me would have to be Gunslinger Girl: Il Teatrino. Enough folks tore apart the sequel to GSG for its inferior animation and different mood it gave off compared to the first season. However unlike the first season, Il Teatrino features an ongoing plot involving the SWA's clash with Pinocchio and the terrorists he is alligned with, as well as focus on the pasts of characters who never got as much focus in the first season such as Triela, Giuse and Jean. It's still the same Gunslinger Girl at heart: the exploration of the bonds of the fratellos and the grey morality involved in the cyborgs being young girls with tragic pasts being brainwashed and created into weapons to do the government's dirty work.

So what's in your favorite anime list that other people don't seem to care for?

For me it's Minami-ke.
YES...all THREE seasons and OVAs included.
It's just such a relaxing anime to watch.

Ranting and justifying is encouraged

Black Blood Brothers---it has good character dynamics and it is cute. Although no one on MAL really watches it or enjoys it.

If BBB continued on, I would have liked it.
It was okay, I guess.

I agree with this. The only real problem with it is the art style and the random change in voice actors. As a reader of the manga I was pretty happy with how they followed the story and did the character development. Considering GSG is all about the character development there's really not much to actually complain about.

Voices of a distant star- it is only a 24 minute ova, animated by only one guy. For something from 2002 it looks simply amazing and the emotional depth of the story is outstanding.

Anyways, mine Probably would be: Strike Witches and Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou..Not sure if Rosario + Vampire bumps into the "Hated" or "I don't care" category..Oh, (Yes, I know..I could never settle for a "couple" as my favorite..Why single out so much to one anime? ) Yumekui Merry, too..

Queen's Blade. It's trashy, sure, and I completely understand why so many people hate it. However, I have some strange sort of love for that series. Can't help it. I guess it's my biggest guilty pleasure.

Daphne in the Brilliant Blue

Many people dismiss it based on the artwork and for the rather skimpy outfits the group of girls wear. It may look like that from the outside, but it's actually quite an enjoyable series with an actual plot, likeable characters, hilarious moments, and a great soundtrack. I wish more people would give it a chance and not be so quick to judge it.

I agree 1000%

I'd like to add the Dubbed version of Ghost Stories
The script is built purely for laughs, reminds me alot of the MST3K movies. I wish there were more like this. Crayon Shin-chan closely resembles it but Ghost stories is just too laugh out loud hilarious. I've seen the whole series at least 14 times.

Gundam Seed. Most people I know who watch anime either thought it was alright and kinda brushed it aside afterwards, or didn't care enough from the beginning to watch it (the majority of said people fall under the latter category). It doesn't seem to be all that loved according to its score on MAL, either. :/
