Whee, awesome episode! Love Mai - she's so cool. Seriously though, "the real duel / battle begins now!" has been said practically every other episode. Now if I had a dollar every time - yea okay, I wouldn't be rich, but I'd like it
Some amusing points here: the male / female thing (I loled IRL). Oh yea, and if you don't draw the one card you need that very last turn ... you don't make it in YuGiOh. It's always Yuugi and friends that do it, though. Oh, the realm of anime ... lol
EDIT: Forgot to mention ... Kuribo is as cute as always! Chaos Soldier is pretty cool too :D

Ok, this is very different from when I watched dubbed version. In the dubbed, Yugi is afraid of let Yami duel, because of what happened with Kaiba. But in the original version, Yami is just afraid of lose. I hate when they change things.

Yah, sub is much better. And they just keep playing my favorite soundtrack. They play it like once or twice in like every episode. lmfao. xD

Even though I really dislike the japanese voice acting cast in this anime, mostly Yugi, that's exactly the reason I still watch the Japanese dub.
Apparently the English dub completely changes plot lines etc. (Yugi's English dub VA is better imo)

What 4Kids changing plot lines, character motivations and the like, that's impossible.

Impressive ending of this battle! Really lucky in the end there, but well that was to be expected after all...

That was an unexpected rivalry I didn't know I needed. I love Mai omg.

As someone who's watching the dub, maybe it's bc I don't quite know how they handle the sub, but I don't mind Yugi's motivations here. Being afraid of Yami makes sense within context, I mean he almost killed a guy. I like how Yugi participates in the duels and it's not just Yami doing everything. They influence each other and I enjoy that.

Japanese version and the manga which I read alongside are really dope.

One Piece episode 914 & 915 & 1027 were a mistake and 957 brought the salvation - FMmatron

Alrighty, Yuugi won (like the outcome would be anything else)!

I honestly forgot you could surrender in duels since I never do that, lol

Of course Yugi draws the needed card in the last moment, but how could it be otherwise? Losing at this point would have been pretty anticlimactic for a shonen, it’s a show after all.

Hmm, so it doesn't matter how many monsters you have in the field in yugioh, unlike in Magic where you can overpower a stronger monster as long as you have sufficient forces in the field.

Mai loses in the last second, that's so typical Yugioh xD The effect of shadow of eyes surprised me a bit, it's actually a normal trap card and shouldn't have been on the field after use and also the effect that it can't seduce female monsters is also really funny, the monster type doesn't matter for this card. But well, the rules are still a bit all over the place, at least it's funny
