Glad to see they more characters into this season finale besides just Chika. it's nice to see Riri and Fuyune.

Vibes still feels the same between the main cast here. I loved seeing their chemistry even in the season finale. As far as Chika's journey, this one is similar to others and her wild imaginations are loose again. Fun show imo, easily recommendable to anyone.

Comfy finale.

Overall, lots of beautiful scenery, but the story wasn't so interesting. This quickly became a little too repetitive. I think the characters were still fine.

Yelp, both Chika and Fuyune going further than their journey ever surmised on the way back to Tokyo, and the elderly woman helping them by providing them a way out to the nearest train station, though it's their fault for not pre-checking their route around Mihonoseki. On the way, however, finding Riri at Izumo-Taisha too after traveling from the morning to the afternoon, it becomes the tale of the Three Mangaka going around Miho Shrine and Izumo-Taisha, for quite the blessing.

It's quite the tale especially for both Fuyune and Riri acknowledging their "love" for one another with Chika being the 3rd Wheel for all things romantic, as much as Chika got a Eureka moment for her manga work, to finally get home and put that to action. And that blessing for Chika from Yoshimoto to publish her one-shot in the magazine (which that special one-shot is ACTUALLY a manga chapter), it's a relief to see how the trips have accumulated to her one dream of being a rookie mangaka.

This is only but the first of many steps for Chika, and the journeys will continue evermore.

This show is better than I expected (though not many will share my sentiments), and it's characterization that leads this with bookmarks of change.

Well it was nice watching this the characters had fun traveling and it also gives us a lot of inspiration as well like where should we go when in Japan.
Japan has a lot to offer but tourists mostly go to the same popular places which are suffering from over tourism but there is way more to see in Japan than just those places and the other places don't have over tourism.
The anime also shows that you can travel alone something i already knew since i traveled alone myself it's really something i recommend.
It's also nice to see the manga of the main being published all that hard work paid off.

I really enjoyed this comfy anime. Like sure, it looks like it was probably funded by the Japanese Tourism board or whatever. But for all the obvious promotion it was still a fun watch. 9/10 would travel some more.

It would've been so much better to watch this anime if it had the same quality as 'Mono'. It's a shame — for me, it was just an OK anime. 6.5/10. Don't get me wrong, I liked it, just not that much. I only gave it a 6 because of the animation. If it's an anime about traveling and beautiful places, then invest in good animation to do justice to those locations.

by all metrics, i should have loved this show, i love every show similar to this, but i just... was incredibly bored with this one
i dont even know what fails to entice me, since ive long ago stopped overanalizing my anime, even more for "comfy" anime, but it just didnt click with me

unlike shows like Mono and Hibimeshi... maybe their quality is just higher and Zatsu just looks poor in comparison

now to be fair, i also didnt exactly love the manga, the most entertaining part of it was the amount of research the translator did on the end notes... but i thought the anime would make me like it better, but nah

Great final episode.

Really glad that Riri and Fuyune make up and because of that, Chika got an idea for her manga. I'm actually really proud of her for getting her manga published. I would definitely read it if it was actually a manga. A really comfy anime to watch and a really fun one to watch as well. The scenery was absolutely beautiful and I wish I could go to Japan now. The characters are what make this anime even better.

That’s journey! Cannot believe that’s a wrap on one of my fave seasonals and one of the best casts! Perfect ending too, got my yuri confession, Chika got her one shot published and is on the cusp of making a proper career as a mangaka AND she’s off to see more of the country. Perfect.

“As long as I can be with you, either is fine” So Riri woke up at 6AM to travel 800km to see/ make up with Fuyune, basically gives a confession and I’m supposed to believe this is platonic not gay?? You can’t fool me lol. Peep how she combs Fuyune’s hair tooπŸ₯° The power of yuri quite literally saved Chika as it’s the angst of their relationship she was able to properly replicate in her one shot and that’s what made it resonate with readers sm. it would be so cool if Chika goes on to become a yuri mangaka lol.

It’s cute how both Riri and Fuyune see a lot of each other in Chika. This whole season she’s been soaking up knowledge and wisdom like a sponge from older, more experienced people and it finally paid off in this one shot. I really enjoyed seeing it brought to life and honestly I’d love to read that irl lol. Angst is my shit. Love how she incorporated other aspects of her travels too while making it feel unique too.

Wait, not Chika’s hat having a mind of its own lmao what’s up with that ending??

This was such an awesome watch. I think it nailed the joy of traveling and every episode made me feel like I was watching a travel vlog or something. I’m gonna miss these girls so much!!

Glad to see the two friends made up in this finale, and also to see Chika finally getting published!

Overall we had: gorgeous sceneries in varied places, convincing voice acting, a relaxed atmosphere, some interesting facts about traveling inside Japan and a few amusing moments here and there.
Although it might not be one of my favorite slice of life series ever, it was still very decent and I enjoyed the ride!
I might even rewatch it at some point :)

Wonderful cozy show! (^^)

Loved every journey by them. Let's see if we get Season 2 for this!
I need somebody who can love me at my worst
No, I'm not perfect, but I hope you see my worth
'Cause it's only you, nobody new, I put you first
And for you, girl, I swear I'll do the worst

If you stay forever, let me hold your hand
I can fill those places in your heart no else can
Let me show you love, oh, I don't pretend, yeah
I'll be right here, baby, you know I'll sink or swim

It was one of those "comfy" shows you just watch every week. Nothing special or remarkable but you just end up appreciating it for what it is. The journey never ends...

I gotta say the feeling you get when you finally manage to create something on your own and you can show it to the world was perfectly portrayed at the end. It's a happiness and a "high" that it's hard to describe.

Such a wholesome finale! Seeing Riri and Fuyune make up was really heartwarming, and I’m so proud of Chika for getting her oneshot published. Her journey across Japan was filled with beautiful scenery, nice people, and quiet moments that really hit home. It reminded me how sometimes we just need to step out of our comfort zone to rediscover ourselves. I didn’t expect to love this show so much, but it really became one of my favorites this season. Fingers crossed for a season 2, I’d love to go on another journey with Chika!

ps: and created a yuri manga in the end

And so we end with a look at bus routes, a cream stew reconciliation and a one-off publication.

Solid cute girls doing cute travel things series. I'd be lying however if I didn't admit I often got it confused with a similar series from this season I watched, Mono. Most weeks I even watched them back 2 back which in hindsight might have been a mistake. Still, seeing the sights was interesting much of the time, knowing I'll most likely never end up seeing them myself in person, 7/10.

Pretty good last episode especially for Riri and Fuyune making up and it helped Chika to decide what she wants to do for her one shot manga that also got published and turns out it's a yuri based on their relationship, so who knows how it will evolve in real life ahah. Also it's funny how it ended up being Chika's hat that is the narrator lol.

Great episode, it's a shame the five of them didn't get together like that, maybe later on in the second season or in the manga, but for a little bit yuri was happy and Chika earned some more traveling with her friends, 10 for this great masterpiece.

Its a good thing they ran into a local that was helpful. Japan's transport infrastructure is second to none when you want to get to a place on time. The view from the lighthouse buffet sure looked glorious. Nice to see Chika's reaction at her first published work. Wonder would we see a s2 for this.

A simple idea.. a small group of cute novice mangakas take short trips to various locations in Japan for inspiration and also they grow as friends - that's it. Japan has a genius for this kind of thing, making the mundane into a kind of soothing therapy with a Shinto assisted hint of transcendence. Those who demand a complex plot and technical excellence would probably rip this show to shreds, fair enough. For me, the tender soothing feelings it provided make it easily worth 8/10, without a doubt.

This was a nice wrap up with imo the three best characters in the show all together, I do like the other two but these three have the best dynamic imo, and that story Chika done at the end was really cute. I actually got weirdly invested in it, it was a very yuri esque story Chika wrote and it was very cute.

Overall this was easily my most anticipated anime for the spring season of 2025 and I had very high expectations. I will say it slightly undermined my expectations but I didn't hate it at all. It had a few moments which dulled the show for me but overall it was a very fun watch.

The characters I never found too interesting, I like Chika, Riri and Fuyune, They had a really good and fun dynamic. The other two were just a bit dull, honestly I don't even remember their names. I liked seeing the different places she travelled to with her friends plus her developing manga it was overall fun learning more about the culture.

I gotta say though the highlight of this show was easily Fuyune, Idk what it was but she was a massive outlier in the anime, She was so unbelievably fun to watch, she's so silly and precious to see. She's probably one of the most comforting characters ive ever seen in a anime. Props to the VA for that.

Overall an amazing anime

High 8/10

Okay, last episode of this slog.
Narrator-san.
Fuyune-san & Riri-chan make up from some apparent fight that happened off screen... I was never invested in the drama this show tried to create at the 11th hr and found it kind of bland and pointless. They continue their walk against stock backgrounds.
This show was a big disappointment. It had a great idea but did nothing inspiring with it. Not the characters nor the places they visited were very appealing or interesting. The final episode did nothing to change that impression. The manga she shows at the end looks just as bland and uninteresting as this show.

I don't know if they actually put the one-shot shown in this episode in one Dengeki Maoh issue but I just found out that it's actually included in the fourth volume of Zatsu Tabi.

Ishizaka Kenta is also doing a funny meta thing in Dengeki Maoh: he's working on Zatsu Tabi while also drawing another work called Ashita no Ashita under the pen name ''Suzugamori Chika''. That's right, he's drawing Chika's first serialized comic in real life!

Chika was inspired by her friends reconciling and decided to become a yuri mangaka. And wait just a second, was the narrator the button on her cap the entire time?! I'd assumed he was just your usual third person narrator seperated from the events happening on screen but perhaps he was actually a spirit in the button the whole time.

@Avvenirista I checked it on Mangadex and they tagged it as a girls love series, Chika really did go on to become a yuri mangaka!
(I don't know if that's entirely accurate though as Mangadex isn't an official source. Comic-Walker tags it as 'flirting love' through webpage translation but I don't know what that really means for the manga as a whole)

I'm glad I stuck with this. It was just a feel-good 'recharging your spirit' time. I liked all of the characters and the narrator was way better than expected. The animation was definitely lower budget (and they leaned into it with the maps), but the backgrounds were fantastic. Each location felt authentic through the backgrounds. I hope some folks make some Zatsu Tabi wallpapers, but the pickings are pretty anemic right now.

Overall this show was pretty mid but it was interesting to me mainly for ideas on cool places to visit. I’ve seen the “main” tourist areas of Japan (Tokyo and Kansai region), so I got some new ideas for my next trip.

And the big reveal at the end that the hat possess superpowers, well it was shocking and bumped the score up (j/k).

So 6/10 mainly for the tourism stuff. Also would have been higher if there was more yuri, like if Yui confessed, I was waiting for that. But no.
