It's interesting to see Cosette/Destiny hang out with Anna without Takt being around this time. Looks like the town they went to has a strange occurrence related to the elderly.

Takt reconnected more with music.

Overall, a pretty chill episode and I also find it slightly interesting about Colette's maturity in this episode.

Takt has stopped in a certain town where only old people live because all the young ones from the town have gone missing. Anna and Destiny are there as well helping them. Whereas, Takt is just chilling and wandering around the town by himself.

It was nice to see that Takt got to play again. Cosette being as cute as ever breaking things and Anna trying to look over stuff is always funny to me. LOL

And one of them was so surprised that the chair fell off when he stood and made the pikachu face like the rest

Nice sisters bonding episode. And that "secret" bar had a very cozy atmosphere.

Felt bad for that old lady, trying to cope with her daughter passing away.

If this is a filler episode, so this will be an expensive filler episode because they have licensed an American song (When The Saints Go Marching In) for this filler episode.

So yes, I can appreciate more even thought this anime is now getting went to Tanmoshi adaptation-styled anime ...

I still can't get over Takt and Cosette's "pun intended" banter on their way to New York while Anna just drives on and on like it's nothing. Anna's a strong taskmaster of a woman.

Another filler episode of the girls shopping for groceries in an old, flaccid town where old geezers (both men and women) reside, and having to tend to old people's daily problems. Cosette's a deredere robotic person who thinks she's capable of anything, yeah. Anna getting mis-recognized by this elderly lady crying out for her daughter Maria who has passed away, that's a serious case of Alzheimer's.

Takt goes searching for the girls, and lands himself in a music shop. It's not surprising to hear When The Saints Go Marching In jazz-like music in a music shop of this time period, it's kinda weird to not hear classical music (because of the D2s). They are also deprived of classical music, and a composer like Takt's father Kenji "Rooster" Asahina is sorely missed by the community (which they went speechless LOLS).

Interesting to still have a community that's loyal to classical music, and with the small "secret" soundproof room stage setting behind the bar, reminiscing on glory days past, together with Takt's piano music like his father's, it brings back nostalgia for them. At least for Cosette though, as much of an idiot nerd of a Conductor that he is, as long as Takt is able to play music that he loves, her calling of being a Musicart is justified to defeat the D2s.

A fairly decent filler episode.

Great episode! Cosette with the hammer broke the floorboard xD. We got to see Cosette with Anna today more which was nice. She also liked the cat and thought it was cute lol. They also got dragged to many places by the people living in the town. Takt met some people who knew his father and played some music! Sounded very nice as well. It seems Takt’s father was known as ‘the rooster’ for some reason as well.

Looking forward to the next episode!

Pretty chill episode, everyone was just doing their own things. Cosetta and Anna were stuck helping old people all day long until they got kidnapped by a strange woman who thought of Anna as her own daughter. Everything got solved on their end and they met up with Maestro who was playing the piano as a chad. I loved how shocked they were after they found out who he really was. Anyway, a new musicart in the end, the designs are beautiful as hell.

Takt already met Hell in his childhood, what a terrible happening.

Seeing the focus on the bar and Takt backstory, I was concerned of the D2 appear to destroy the bar.

We have now finished the tutorial and prologue of the game and have now unlocked open world free roam and side quests. Side quests include helping out a store owner, delivering some milk, fixing a porch, rescuing a cat, helping a mother cope with the loss of her daughter, and perhaps play some piano at a secret underground bar. Once you have levelled up your social score, continue back on the highway with the main quest.

This doesn't really apply to this episode because there was no D2 battles, just wanted to mention it anyway. This the most petty of nitpicks if you can even call it that, but I want more satisfying effects when slaying D2's. Usually they just disappear in a poof of colorful sparkles or whatever. Idk, give us something cooler, like alien blood spurting everywhere. I want some shinobi executions, not "poof, you're gone!"

At least the town that they got too wasn't in ruins. Damm Cosette really has some lip on her but her counter to Takt was amusing. Even though she lost her memories its nice to see her treat Anna as her sister. Its fortunate that Anna and Cosette was able to help out the shop manager though. Takt though had quite the senses in managing to find that club. Though unexpected Anna and Cosette's diversion sure was amusing but also a little sad. Takt's dad sounded like one hell of a person. Overall a pretty balanced ep that combined nice exploration of the town with Anna and Cosette that gave them a rare opportunity to interact with each other as well as some much needed expansion on Takt via his father.

Also how this town even works? No apparent sources of income, no reliable work force, still they have food, electricity, communications, the streets look relatively clean and somehow maintained...

This show really suckered us in with the studio collaboration, but it's pretty apparent at this point that it's a standard gacha tie-in and nothing special.

We shouldn't be halfway through a 12-episode season with this little going on. Pacing is terrible. This is shaping up to be a 12-episode intro instead of an actual story.

This episode was pure filler and for a 12 episode original series thats baffling. It was pretty boring to watch and I. Not sure what they tried to achieve here. I also think far too much credit is given to the music in this show, its been bang average at best.

After witnessing Cosette's death and becoming a conductor, Takt stopped smiling. It was, therefore, really heartwarming to not only see him finally smile again but to see him hold that smile for more than just a few seconds.

Meh.

This was easily the weakest episode so far where most have been quite engaging or at the very least interesting in world building/character introduction.

We go from battling D2s to Anna & Cosette literally pulling down cats from rooftops to Takt performing for some old farts. The only commendable thing I have to say about this particular episode was the animation while Takt played the piano.

Thought this was the best episode yet but that's not saying much. Finally an episode based around Music in one of the biggest Music Cities EVER. If the rest of the series would have been like this one I feel like it could have been a candidate for AOTY but the show still lacks in story and quite frankly Animation.

I feel like they blew their budget in the opening animation and thats it.

Why would they do a filler episode like this?

It's like they though the last few episodes had just plain too much going on? despite nothing actually going on, so here's an episode where all they do is visit cafes.

I would say this is the strongest episode so far mainly because it was just focusing on the lives of the people left behind after all the disasters of D2. That's something that's pretty easy to do an okay job with. The secret little jazz bar is cool and believable - if you can accept that all the characters are in love with Ken who was apparently the greatest musician of all time etc etc.

Honestly, this was the best episode so far and there was 0 action. It turned out to be a surprisingly human episode dealing with what people have lost during this whole apocalypse. The way they went about it was still a bit cliché and the execution was unspectacular, but I liked that they did it. Much needed change of pace from the detached and lackluster episodes prior.

Because it's a Louis Armstrong version of "When the Saints Go Marching In," which (it bears mentioning) would still be under copyright (Armstrong's earliest recording was 1936, public domain is currently, IIRC, 1925).

Also, it bears mentioning that while a particular piece of music may be in the public of domain, performances of that piece would still be under copyright. So, for example - Rhapsody in Blue entered the Public Domain last year - so you can do a new recording of it without having to pay any royalties to use the music. However, your new recording would be under copyright, unless you released your specific recording under a public domain license. You would also have the option to release it under a Creative Commons license if you so chose.

So... what was the point of this episode again? Takt's adventure at the Jazz Cafe can barely be considered "character development" and having Anna and Destiny doing random side-quests to leave his character alone couldn't have felt more forced.

Boring "filler" episode overall.

Pretty chill episode! I really enjoyed it even if it felt a bit like filler, but that's not always a bad thing in my opinion. I'm glad we're getting some character development from Destiny. It was very refreshing to have a bit of a change of pace after the past few action heavy episodes. It gives us a good opportunity to just sit with the characters and get to know them a little bit better.

Also very fitting to have a music centered episode in New Orleans. Wish they would focus a bit more on the music overall though, since this is a music themed anime.

Still have a lot of complaints about this show but nonetheless I really like this episode.
