| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Episode is out on Anime Strike. Idk about the Olympics but these boys do need to improve more if the want to make it into the big leagues. The MC Tomoki Sakai feels pretty dull so far. Not that I dislike him but he doesn't have anything particular interesting about his character. The show obviously has man service with the diving. Hope they can make the idea of diving more interesting though. |

| Good start but I dunno if I can get behind this MC....He's not bad or anything but seeing the way he treats that Miyo girl and his (twin?) brother kinda left a bad taste in my mouth Either way, the other character interactions were nice and I REALLY like the ace of their club (He's pretty cool and has a nice personality + I respect his drive) and with all this in mind, I hope that the actual concept of diving will end up being interesting and fun to watch P.S. That new female coach is HOT AF and I'm gonna need her to have lots of screentime in swim wear ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) |

| hmmmm it feels a bit bland at the moment :( (like...everything, the setting, the characters (esp. MC). Maybe I just was expecting something more significant in the first episode or a kind of "bam". The story parts with the potential shut down of the club and his hurt ex-gf is not working on me because I had no chance whatsoever to emphasize with the MC yet. What do I care whether your club is shut down. And Olympics? Out of the blue? Hard to believe. Common sense lost. Everything's mixed together in a very weird way for now. Let's see how it's going to continue. |
| The MC, Tomoki, seems quite indecisive. As others have said he's pretty dull. There might be some character development in future episode that can change that. Hopefully. The way he treated the girl Miu and his brother is making me dislike the MC. |

| This is totally Battery all over again. This MC is a dick, wow. Leaving his ''girlfriend'' hanging, being unsure about it and brushing it off. I feel really bad for her. In Battery, we had a subtext for a gay romance, looks like it's here again. The start was pretty...meh in all honesty, i was angered though with wishy-washy MC though, i am interested where they go with that cause it was prominently featured in this episode at the end. |

| Was looking forward to this show, but the beginning is different than expected, not really a complete let down, but also not something which sets off euphoria. Like others said so far it appears odd,rushed and there's nothing special. The MC is also not for my liking. Nonetheless I'm probably gonna stick with Dive!! for now, maybe there will be some kind of development which change my opinion about it. |

But story... seems kinda meh... and I have feeling like they want make something like Free and Yuri on Ice. Because everything feels so... forced. Is like creators/studio scream: "Please, let it be popular like Free or Yuuri on Ice!", "We give you male fanservice, BL fanservice, so love it" |

| Uninteresting MC, and that side romance doesn't contribute anything at all. If anything it will be used as a wedge later in the series to make MC doubt himself. There's no value in it. |

It was hard to follow or full of time skips and jups that one would feel lost by. |

| Was wondering why there were no forum discussions when I finished downloading this from horriblesubs... (I guess i was too early). Looks like it was a good idea keeping this to the side. Just from reading the comments I think i'll stay away from this series unless it gets better. |

| Okay episode to be honest. I was expecting more from this show but it really was a let down. Story seems average and kind of ridiculous, the characters bland but it has got good animation and wonderful music. The main character is, by far, the worst character and so I would like to see that change over time. 7/10 with considerable leniency... |

| I think the sport of diving isn't as exciting to watch as maybe some others so for this anime to be good I think the story and character interactions will have to be done well. Also I think some people may have gone into the first episode with the wrong expectations. |

| Kay... That was boring and shit. MC is a total shitter and I can't like. Usually, I'd give it a few more episodes, but it's just so bland and story looks pretty meh so far for where it's heading. Basically the same as Battery, and that was zzzzzzz. Dropped. |

| Personally, I'm going to give this a chance. I went into it with an open mind, and knowing that the novel was written well before Free was released, there's no point comparing them. I've seen the 2008 movie adaptation a long while ago and it was quite enjoyable. I'm hoping the anime will focus on showing the character interactions and their growth.
