In 2019, aliens won the war over Earth, leaving mankind in ruin. Aliens see humans in the same way that chickens were considered to be food. Currently, however, two remnants of humanity can be found in the garden of a school swarming with alien students. Yuuto and Ami have evaded execution by disguising themselves as chickens, which most aliens find rather unappetizing—but one perceptive student named Youhei sees through their guise. Fortunately, he disapproves of the indiscriminate killing of humans and decides to lend the two a hand. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Fujimoto serialized the one-shots in magazines from 2011 to 2018. Shueisha collected the one-shots and published them in two volumes in 2021. VIZ Media licensed the anthology releases in English in June 2022 and shipped both volumes in 2023.
@RobertBobert Not even just attention. Some of the cuts in this trailer are fucking insane in terms of quality.
@Massdrop And this is in a relatively short time. Just remember how long it took for the author of Conan to get spin-off adaptations and a remake of the first title?
I'm super excited. As rough around the edges some of Fujimoto's early work are, they are also stupidly insane. Overall, his early work feels like an authentic reflection of who he is, and that's more important than polish in my opinion. The animation seems great as well.
This could be one the most unique anime projects in recent years.
Woah, Fujimoto-sensei is really lucky to have that kind of compilation turned into anime. It's rare to see such things happening in the industry. At least I can't recall it being a thing.
