Can't decide what's more adorable between Nazuna getting pouty at Kou giving his blood to another vampire and that she's a scaredy cat.

The chill vibe is this anime's signature but I'm really digging how its story is progressing.

Coming from the opening I didn't know just much focus they'd put into the action segments but after this episode now I'm confident they're in good hands. The way Anko not only felt menacing with her lines but the way she suddenly came in front of Akkun and started to stab him repeatedly was terrifying. She's not someone you can screw around with and at that we got to see the greatest piece of information that will carry this season: find something precious about your past and destroy it.

Could Nazuna have been that patient from 30 years ago? Was it actually someone she knew like the person she had fell in love with once before? I guess we'll find out.

Ohhh that almost turned into a bad one, I was genuinely worried for Akkun back there. Anko is just way too good at what she does, and she looks so badass, now I actually want to see her go against Kiku.

The vampires weakness is their past, and that they forget about their memories as humans, the way you turn into a vampire is to fall in love and when you become one you just forget that feeling and your memories? It's like a tragic ending to a love story, but you can still start over and make new ones... but is it even the same as before?

Really makes you wonder how Nazuna became a vampire and how important 'that' person to her is. Is it really Kabura? (they did have some intense scene in the OP). And Nazuna is really young! in her 40s! So that girl friend in the OP could be Anko too. This is getting more interesting.

(Honestly I don't remember much from Season 1 that idk if these reveals are new stuffs or not lol)

Hatsuka is starting to become a best girl.

A really entertaining episode.

Detective Anko is scarier than the vampires, but I love it: she did humiliate them, although this time she couldn't win because she was outnumbered. Still, we finally know what the vampires' biggest weakness is: artifacts from their previous human lives. And for some reason, Anko is now specifically targeting Kiku.

Meanwhile, everyone is on high alert trying to avoid anything related to their human pasts. Nazuna doesn't remember hers. That triggers a whole mission to discover her roots, which leads them to the hospital... where Kabura works as a nurse and seems to know something about Nazuna's past . I wasn't expecting that. Like Nazuna, I too assumed she was in the world's oldest profession 😏.

This got really intriguing.

Am I the only one who feels like the pacing is a little too fast?
@Dred_Sins On the contrary, we've been building up to this. S1 was slower for a reason

I made the mistake of checking out Kiku Hoshimi’s character details on this site and got spoiled. I didn’t expect them to include major spoilers there.

The fast close-ups and quick cuts make it feel really intense right away. The colors, lighting, and shaky camera all mix together in a wild way.

Great presentation. I really liked what Yoshioka did here.

trying to find nanazuna's old things to let her remember anything from her human life, they see a card that says a hospital name from 30 years so they go

looks like kabura hiding something there ? but why is that, and she looking like she actually gonna fight anyone for this, in the she says under one condition and the ep ends

really good one 4 / 5 for me

oh Mannnn I love the op and ed sm they are soo goood

Great episode. I'm enjoying this season way more than I ever did with the first season. The directing in this season is top-notch. Detective Anko is scary. The stabbing scene was really intense but I'm glad Akkun came out alright. I really like the setup to the main duo's new goal of investigating Nazuna's past, looking forward to learning more.

A little all over the place, but there were many great moments. Miyuki Sawashiro's demented voice performance. The burst of violence that comes out of nowhere. The clever lore about a vampire's weakness. Seri and Akkun's rooftop conversation about forgetting. The mystery about Nazuna's past. Plenty of banter between Kou and Nazuna.

Season 2 is looking really promising.

Good episode, luckily no one is dead... Akkun is a freak when he appear in the 1st episode, but after he turn into a vampire, he actually looking cool.
Anko is actually really fast for human to appear in front of Akkun without the older vampire realizing...

Now that someone mentioning Kou age............ Kou friend, Akira.... She look like a 16-17 years old school girl.... But for being 14.......

It's time to find about Nazuna past huh? At the OP song, I thought that nurse is the crossdressing vampire... turn out, it actually the other vampire... They both do have a similar hair style to begin with...

Actually, as you age, it becomes easier to remember things from when you were young that recent things.
So, in Nazuna's example, Ko would probably be able to tell something from 50 years ago while having a hard time remembering if he had lunch or not.

Although that would be something from later 70 or above, with 60 is pretty early unless you are developing dementia or alzheimer.
@CorbanEsp that is just not true.

Pacifist vampires? Why would they let someone live who flat out said is coming to destroy them?

Why would any vampire keep anything from their human life intact if can be used against them? The 'parent' vampire first move should be to get rid of everything that could harm their offspring. Is this a lame way of searching for Nazuanas past? Absurd.

I also didn't like being reminded that the boy ML is only 14, would have been so less uncomfortable to have him be second yr high school student and 17. No matter how old Nazuna actually is, its still creepy. Certainly wouldn't find this cute if a 40ish male vampire was trying to get 14 yr old girl to fall in love with him. I'm bumping up his age in my head...

Whilst its interesting we get this interaction with Anko I'm not really sure how she is supposed to be so fast, especially since they are vampires, hopefully its something we find out later.
Looks like we'll also start to see a bit more of Nazuna's past, and with a reaction like that clearly Kabura knows something.

Why did Akkun have to get stabbed? I love his character, but thankfully he was able to heal himself!

Crazy she looks so good for only being 30-40 years old.

Kabura was definitely hiding something and I'm glad Ko pushed back. She must've turned Nazuna into a vampire otherwise why would she feel the need to hide something.

Anko brought quite the brutal start to this episode. Akkun was in real trouble for a moment there but with Seri's arrival thankfully she backed off.

Nazuna only being 30-40 isn't the most impressive thing for a vampire. But she's still a vampire! That overrules the Aura loss in my book.

Finding more info about Nazuna's past just became top priority to stop future troubles before it starts. Ko's pretty valiant for pushing his luck with Kabura. Definitely shows how much Nazuna's safety means to him.

That short attack at the beginning was amazing. Although I'm not entirely thrilled that it has so many effects and everything happens so quickly. It feels like an AMV.
Well, Nazuna isn't as old as she could have been. In fact, she's unexpectedly young. I'm starting to have my theories about her past. Let's see what it's all about.

The famed detective woman has made her arrival before Ko and the vampires: Anko Uguisu, and she's not one who will be lenient to the bloodsucking beings to eliminate without a shred of thought. That by itself should be a warning sign to the vampires and human wannabes like Mahiru that threaten the story of their past human lives, though it's also thanks to people like Ko, that the vampires live to see another day. Of course, Nazuna would be jealous that Ko gave his blood to some other vampire, though him trying to converse romance with her and unlocking her past all at the same time, it's a gamble knowing who's friend and foe. What the vampires need now is mutual support, just like Akihito and Seri.

Time is of the essence, and the vampires need to one-up Niko before she does the same to them. On the other hand, Ko flirting with Nazuna regardless of her vampiric or human age in a sense to try and reminisce any memory possible, and someone's past patient ID card for a hospital is the first lead to search for more leads. Sure, as "haunted" as the hospital looks, both Ko and Kazuna not expecting Kabura working as a nurse there, though she'll not divulge on their warrants, unless if there's a sense of purpose for her.

The first leads to Nazuna's past, it's going to be a long down-trodding path alright...

Alrighty...we've gotta admit for a human Anko is a badass being able to go up against vampires and usually winning against them.

So instead of the classic silver ot garlic, the vampires in this show have a weakness to their human memories?
Now that is a cool concept and an effective way to explore our favourite vampires' background :}

Not much fond of Anko having inexplicably superhuman reflexes, speed and strength all of a sudden. She was at least 10 metres away from Akkun, yet closed the distance at the pace of a brisk walk in less than a second, then managed to quite literally keep him suspended in mid-air while stabbing him rapidfire? There doesn't seem to be any coherent explanation for her supernatural abilities as she's ostensibly just a physically competent human.

Why have the pretence of her dealing with her vampiric nemesis through entrapment, subterfuge and seduction if she's just going to metamorphose into a Dragon Ball character anyway?
