Yup, I knew it. There's Inori pushing herself to be better even at Summer camp. It's an episode that also highlights more of how Tsukasa wants to help others.

Speaking of which, Tsukasa showed so much personality this time, literally with fire in his eyes. Inori's work ethic truly is amazing though. Every time she does her spin, she reaches newer heights. Tsukasa is proud of her too.

Inori just gives me the motivation to push myself to be better and surpass my limits every single day! So proud of her for landing the new technique! This little training camp was a great opportunity for she and the other skaters to grow. Especially Rioh’s pompous ass.

Figured he had a crush on Hikaru, but Tsukasa peeping that he subconsciously has been trying to be like Jun this whole time was such a great scene. Doesn’t justify Rioh being so rude to everyone, but I can understand why he’d be feeling insecure. He’s in a race to “save” Hikaru.

Can’t wait to see Tsukasa show him how it’s done next week!

Tsukasa having enough latent Looney Tunes energy to momentarily defy gravity somehow doesn't surprise me lmao. Or maybe it just comes with being an ice skater?

We're finally starting to see where Rioh's rashness comes from and I do sympathize but for him to say he'd go for the roach smoothie is a bit much. That first encounter with Jun sure left an impression.

I snorted when Tsukasa picked up Rio like that at the end. What was that carry, haha. Is that an ice-dancing move?

It must be a painful weak spot to be officially rank beginner, on top of the crushing regret of starting too late and failing to compete as a skater himself. Inori will need to give him as much support as he is giving her...

Very excited to see Tsukasa skate again next week.

A manservice episode. Tsukasa has a body that could earn him a lot of money from some kind of jobs and he doesn't even know it. And Rio bathing alone makes me realized a lack of boy in this anime. Good thing Tsukasa comes to bath together with him, good thing...

Just Tsukasa doing Tsukasa things. If he could push Inori to her current state of greatness, then it was only a matter of time before he would get Rioh to crack lol.

Putting Nachi by Hitomi side, made realize how short she really is.

Tsukasa sure had lot of pains getting into ice skating, but look at those gains.

I really don’t like this Rioh kid; he has a massive chip on his shoulder and takes it out on everyone else. I don’t condone violence against children but he would be an exception

@ajw215799 Then again, all that pressure from being son of silver medalist, Hikari arrive and with how talented she is, she gets Jun Yodaka as her personal trainer who he admires, and then have Yodaka "You are in way" no wonder he broke...

That still doesn’t excuse him being a dick to everyone around him trying to help. But Yodaka being an all round bad guy is a separate issue entirely

Inori accomplished a lot in this episode, I am so happy for her.

That blonde haired boy needs to start trusting the coach, hopefully after seeing him dance, he will think better than what he had.
Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

Inori and Tsukasa's reactions to Inori gaining a new achievement is always so funny and precious. Looks like we're continuing to get more focus on Riou. He's a little asshat, but that's not uncommon at all for boys his age, and I find his dynamic with Tsukasa really fun to watch. He's growing on me as a character. I'm really excited to see Tsukasa skate, and hopefully afterwards Riou will take back what he said about Tsukasa not being a capable coach.

Tsukasa is the dream coach!!! I can already imagine one day Rioh will be bowing down to Tsukasa thanking him for not giving up on him.

I was grinning like Tsukasa when Inori landed that triple! Inori's a beast!

Overall very funny and sweet interactions between characters this episode.

The biggest joy that this series can give to me is when Inori and Tsukasa are doing their best when working together, so seeing Inori succeeding in what she wanted to do in this training camp as well as Tsukasa's fanboy-like reaction to her success easily put a big smile on my face.

As for Rioh, my opinion of him did change a bit in this episode. Putting aside his amusing jealousy of how hunky Tsukasa's ripped body is, he did at least open up a bit about his own struggles and issues. While Tsukasa is frustrated by Rioh's personality, he did pick out what was troubling Rioh with superb accuracy. I do admire Tsukasa for wanting to help Rioh overcome his struggles on the ice rink, so here's hoping he can achieve that next time.

Not to forget, I enjoyed the scene with Inori and Mittens talking to each other at night, showing how good friends they are to each other. =)

So one of the things that add pressure to Riou is that he has a crush on Hikaru, whom had quickly surpassed him.

Once he lands the triple, I can only wish he starts respecting Tsukasa. If I were Tsukasa, I would have spanked that brat.

Inori's interactions with Miketarou were so cute this episode. Especially the part with them talking under the covers. So lovely~

Not gonna lie, couldn't care less about Rioh's sob backstory but I do appreciate the character exploration.
That said, highlight of the episode was definitely Inori nailing a double and triple jump in the same day. That was fantastic and seeing both her and Tsukasa's contained excitement was truly heartwarming.

Really looking forward to seeing Tsukasa skate again.

what does GOE means?
@Mikarin_Enjoyer You could've just Googled it...

In the International Judging System (IJS), competitors accumulate points based on the degree of difficulty (base value) of each technical element and how well each element is executed (grade of execution, or GOE)
...
Judges grade the quality of each element using a grade of execution score within a range of -5 to +5, which is added to or deducted from the base value.

Source: https://www.usfigureskating.org/about/scoring-system

You can successfully land a jump without falling down, but the judges will grade you on how well you did that jump.

You may remember how Tsukasa and Inori talked about not doing trickier moves, but instead doing the easier moves super-well to earn bonus points (+5).

Yeah no, I get that he's a kid but still there's a limit. He doesn't think and talk like a kid at all btw, but okay I mean, if it means him getting even remotely better at human interactions, then I'm with Tsukasa.

Ah, Mittens is back but at least her and Inori are friendly towards each other now and Mittens stood her ground against Rioh so good on her for that. Regarding Rioh, I think he will eventually begin to respect Tsukasa despite how rude he was towards him, I mean Rioh saw Inori perform a double axle and a triple salchow (didn't know what those were before watching this series) and he (Rioh) was impressed.

Lux Higashiyama's training camp commences with Mario Nachi as guest coach alongside Ryoka coming along for the ride, and Tsukasa giving his all just like his normal practice. Still, finding Rioh having a late bath and not wanting to share of his ambition, he being challenged by the young one that he's not any better than him when it comes to his qualifications, and just like the fight with Inori, both skater and coach share the same ambition that they will not bow down to defeat.

The triple-double combo Salchow that the young uns' are looking to master, Inori becomes the first to master it, which only sours Rioh when he first met Hikaru under tutelage from Jun, only to get shot down when he treats her with special treatment. But to think that even the mention of Jun's name being hatred, as much as it is an admiration, Tsukasa thinking that he got the idea because of his insecurities, it's time to not just prove himself wrong, but to prove that despite his age, he still can make it.

Tsukasa is doing God's work trying to fix Rioh, because he desperately NEEDS it.

Training at camp, huh? Good for the kids! With such wonderful coaches guiding them, they're sure to improve.

Riou still doesn’t like Tsukasa—or rather, he doesn’t *want* to. But Tsukasa isn’t going to give up on him that easily and is determined to make him pull off a triple-double combination by the end of camp. We also got a small backstory about Riou, adding more depth to his character.

It’s impressive how Inori managed to land a Double Axel and then a Triple Salchow! She’s grown so much, but she still needs to keep working hard if she wants to defeat Hikaru.

We get to see things from Riou's point of view. Bro acknowledges that he had everything needed to become a great skater, but still can't quite improve his level. Must be hard to get surpassed by a girl who comes out of nowhere to live with him and get the attention he wanted from Jun, whom Riou had initially looked up to perhaps. He could also be feeling immense pressure from his dad since he was an olympian as well, but so far there's not really any evidence to show that he is putting said immense pressure on his son. Riou is probably putting most of that pressure on himself. To which I say: man tf bro. Yes these are little kids who are like 12 but idgaf. Even though he's kind of stuck, it's hard to give him pity when he acts hostile towards characters like Inori, who had almost nothing but still rose from the dirt. Being envious of people with more raw talent (speaking of, yes Hikaru definitely was probably working hard, but not getting OVER-worked, as the pure talent no doubt recognized by Riou's dad did most of the heavy lifting in her case) is understandable, but a bit pathetic if you just give up and do nothing about it. Sure bro has been trying constantly, but get up and lock tf in. Seeing Tsukasa and Inori is probably exactly what he needs to see to do so.

Only 2 episodes left ;( but at the rate this anime has been pushing forward, a lot could still happen.

I'm so happy to see Mittens. Legit my favorite character. 🐾

I would feel bad for Rioh if he had it just super tough. But he's ultimately a privileged rich kid that's whining that talent beats money. Instead of trying to learn from Inori, he just cries and runs in a corner.
