Damn, Aria's crying reaction is exactly how I'd expect she's react.

However, she's very lucky again to have friends that support her all the way. It's been kind of a recurring theme where friendship plays a key role for the cast to come together. Interesting part about the episode is that Aria's father is suspected not to be actually dead at all and we got more background storytelling about him. Imo, this is one of the more interesting character arcs this season. To the comiket next time!

Heartbreaking to see Aria cry her eyes out like that but thankfully she has amazing friends to comfort her. Glad to see that her dad isn't dead and that it was a misunderstanding.

Finding out we've been following the story of how some obscure mangaka's most degenerate albeit loyal fan ended up being the cornerstone of a cosplayer dream team was more emotional than it has any right to be.

Also, half-expected Aria's mom to go into a rage or something over Aria asking about her divorce so learning she had no bad blood with him was a pleasant surprise

Man thank GOD Aria’s dad isn’t dead I wasn’t gonna be able to take it if she never got to see or makeup with him. Did not see the twist coming that he made the Ashford Chronicles spin-off! That’s some serious otaku detective skills by Okumura to identify him by the way he draws ears lol.

At least we know he’s out there and hopefully we’ll get that reunion at comiket! For this episode my fave bits were the girls all giving Aria a nice hug and sharing a cry, so sweet love the wholesome family dynamic the manga club has going on now, even Mikarin is in on it lol. Aria’s mom saying “Your father was a good man, he just wasn’t the right man for me or our family.” Which is so healthy and refreshing to hear. Just because things don’t work out doesn’t mean you need to hate the person or be bitter!

And lastly I love seeing how Okumura’s fan mail to Aria’s dad kept him motivated to write. Like it’s really cool that his two motivations, his biggest fan and daughter are working together and will be at comiket looking for him next week. I know this show gets a gooner reputation but it’s genuinely anything but that. Really sweet story.

the ariel cosplay this week was so good too I can’t wait to see it at comiket! I stand by this show being what people think Kisekoi is.

Called it last episode, writers are predictable, anyway they are advancing the Aria arc rapidly.

Yeah as I figured, Aria's dad is alive and what she heard her mom say over the phone was a misunderstanding. However, it was surprising to hear that her father has been working on the spinoff that Okumura and the girls have enjoyed so hopefully her father does show up at comiket as her daughter's cosplay looks great.

Very sad to see Aria cry but she was lucky to have great friends who supported her. But she was in the wrong as her father is not dead. High level detective work from Okamura to find that out.

The story of his fan later and thats how it inspired Aria's father in his worst time was so nice. Even Aria's mother was actually a good person who cares about him. The tied things up quite well. Kisaki backstory was very good. Now he will be able to see her own daughter cosplay and also meet his only fan.

Mikari came in clutch to promote their cosplay. Ririsa finished all in time. Time for summer comiket next.
The train interaction with those otakus were golden.

I had a feeling that phone call was sus, looks like Aria simply misunderstood and her dad is still around, great to hear, this is no longer gonna be an Aria depression arc lol. And not only that, Okumura did some digging and found out Aria’s dad is the same mangaka that made his “Bible” aka the spin-off of Ashford Chronicles, that’s some stars aligning type shit right there, and apparently it was Okumura’s letter to Aria’s dad that kept him making manga in the first place, so Okumura’s the reason his favorite series even exists, how does that even happen lol, I guess that’s why it’s anime.

And although Aria’s dad is alive, I gotta say that bro is doing it all wrong, he was told to listen to the “highest form of music”, that’s clearly not what he was doing, if he was it would be jam bands, no higher form of music than that lol. I did really like his words about being a mangaka tho, I have no idea what it’s like but he definitely spoke some truth there. And with Aria’s cosplay complete, and also thanks to Mikari for the TV promotion, the gang is now ready to head into the lion’s den, Summer Comiket, I’m excited to see how this one goes with it being their biggest event yet.

It was obvious that Aria's father's death was a misunderstanding, but that doesn’t take away from how strong Aria is for processing that news before finding out the truth.

Aria's father is incredibly talented yet unlucky—having worked as an assistant for the author of Liliel and even mentioning he knew Osamu Tezuka. Sadly, his personal life and the similarities between his work and that of his mentor led him to lose so much, including his family and his own work. At least he’ll attend the Summer Comiket, and I can't wait to see his reaction when he meets his two biggest fans: his daughter, cosplaying as his original character, and Okumura, who sent him the heartfelt letter he's kept all this time.

My favorite joke of the series so far lol

This episode really impressed me. I rarely participate in these discussions, but I just loved this episode so much. I was thinking of giving this show a 6, but I'm going to give it an 8 at least if it continues to maintain all this emotional tension and leave us with a satisfying conclusion. I'm so happy for these characters.

The scene when everyone was hugging Aria was funny, the way she looked at Mikari. And of course she invited Masamune as well xD
I feel like in general this show has gotten more enjoyable for me since Aria joined the group, even though she's (just like every other girl in this anime) completely unrealistic.

Big reveal, the father's alive and the mom didn't leave him for money. He's also the guy creating the Liliel gaiden. Next episode will be big with the girls cosplaying and also hinting reunion. Nice moment between fellow otakus there too.

Emotional moment for Aria believing her father is dead.
Okumura truly only has eyes for 2D girls.
I knew it. Aria's father was the assistant to the Ashford creator and is still alive writing for the side story.
Lol Bach's air and the Tezuka namedrop.
Mikarin's announcement on live TV is a sure attention grabber.
Even his work BGM was chosen because of his daughter's name.
Hopefully he will notice the Ariel cosplayer there is his own daughter and perhaps Okumura as the only other fan of his axed series.

I am so excited for the next episode! And that last part where the two guys mentioned "Look that guy has his own harem" had me laughing way too hard lol! This anime is really good! It's wholesome, it has backstories and has cute girls. What else could you ever want?

I am also really happy that Aria her dad is still alive and hopefully will see her in cosplay. I bet that will make him proud

For Aria to hear straight from her mom that her father is dead, the devastation may have hit everyone hard (except for Mikari), but for her to cosplay being the final straw in the coffin to show how much she loves her dad despite Valkyrie Battle being a cop-out, Okumura sensing something off to investigate himself as Aria gets the misunderstanding cleared between her parents, it's actually better than expected that her mother still loves her father, he's just the right person at the wrong time. And truly, Okumura's research revealing that her father isn't completely dead, just changing his pen name to form Okumura and Ririsa's bible of the Liliel spinoff, even holding onto Okumura's fan letter that he still holds to this day that is the motivation for not throwing in the towel, other than his own daughter Aria.

Truly, the call with their grandmother and relatives was that misunderstanding that Aria got that was off context, and Okumura's love for Liliel aligns with their current mission for Summer Comiket, which is quite the harsh battle to plan for ample time for exposure. And that is only left for Mikari for publicity, which actually reaches Aria's father to give him the boost he needs, which with the final check for Ariel's cosplay costume, is a go.

Okumura and the gang prepping for Summer Comiket, it's going to be quite the battle.

ok not gonna lie, this show was waning on me as it was a lot of the same over and over, and the coincidences were starting to build up and too far. BUT when sensei showing how ariel was his own character orig to the side series, named after aria, and that song being his favorite? it really got to me lol. i really am enjoying this

Okay so fortunately Aria's father isn't dead and what's even more surprising is that he's still working on manga and he made Lilliel's story ahaha what a coincidence, but hopefully he'll come to Comiket because now it's Comiket time for our group

Legit only gets better and better. Also, I just discovered that Okuramun's VA also voices Yuji from Jujutsu Kaisen, and Aria-chan's dad's VA also voices Sukuna from JJK!

Truly a great cast all-around.

Aw Aria sobbing was sad but hey her dad is alive anyway.

Okumura's the number one detective when it comes to all things Liliel. It's nice that Aria's father being dead was just a misunderstanding!

Summer Comiket is going to be fierce, but I believe this squad's got this in the bag!
