Which professions would you exclude from your dating pool?

For me its easy I want my wife to be a housewife so as long as she wasnt something like a sex worker, as long as she's cool with being a housewife from now on i dont really care what her profession was previously.

So hopefully her profession wont be anything stopping me. And thats probably how it is for most men. But probably for women its different. They probably are more concerned about the professions of their husbands, i think.

any profession that's incompatible with my code of ethics is probably out.

So no mercenaries, conservative talk-show hosts or twitch-mods.

On second thought, people who work with children are also most likely out, because they tend to be the extremely uninteresting. Like daycare-workers. I think being around children too much actually makes them regress somehow. You interact so much with children, you forget how to interact with adults. If your most interesting workplace story is how little Emma pooped her pants twice the other day, then things really are bad. And all their interests tend to revolve around children as well. Miss me with that.

Sex-workers on the other hand are more than welcome. I am sure they will put their experience to good use in the bedroom. What's not to like?

Social media influencers.

The reason why I exclude them from my dating pool is that they're more than likely short-lived, the person may be using me to get more likes or clickbait, and this person is only out to improve her own status and may not care about getting to know me as a person. There is a country song here in Texas that says, ''You're a victim of the game.''
''Enemies' gifts are no gifts and do no good.''

Politicians, or anyone in government for that matter. Sex worker is also a massive turn off.

This ground is soiled by those before me and their lies. I dare not look up for on me I feel their eyes

Artists.
CEOs.
Cosplayers.
Martial artists.
Singers.
Strippers.
Teachers.

Uh, I guess an absolute no would be:

Sex workers
Strippers
Camgirls

Besides that I really don't care, my career path is most likely going to be extremely lucrative down the line so I don't care about someone's profession.

However on professions I would prefer I'd say:

Historians
Archaeologists
Geologists
Linguists
Astronomers
Economists
Lawyers
Law Enforcement/Military

Reason for these is because I have a personal interest in all of them yet obviously went down the tech path and not the humanities/economics/law/military one lmao

I don't really have any interest in dating a housewife/househusband, I'd rather we both worked, I respect that way of life if you have kids but I'd still rather date someone who works a job and we split house duties between each other

no police or military either as it goes against my morals, most kinds of sex work too not because I think there's anything wrong with it just a breach of monogamy from my pov

If i actually fell in love with her i'd still marry her. The thing about sexual work is that i want a girl who treasures herself and close/intimate relationships. But people are always changing and i dont think theres anything i'd hold against anyone as unforgivable. The only real deal breaker that wont be overcome no matter what is if she isnt a true bible believer. Even if i met the perfect girl and fell in love with her i wouldnt date her if she isnt a true believer.

But to make things faster with dating i'd exclude girls who've done things that showed they didnt treat sexual intimacy preciously. If i actually liked her enough i might want to get to know her better and decide after knowing more. Its just that this aspect sticks out. Other then sexually related work i cant really think of other professions i'd easily not want to date.

Although i myself am a virgin and am actually hoping to marry another virgin and there are many fish in the sea and though that saying isnt meaningful for many it is very true for me. So even if i met a girl i actually liked and wanted and later find out she's not a virgin i'd probably wait an extra while, hoping to meet a different girl i can like enough that is a virgin. I value sexual purity.

What about you mirai, how much do you think virginity, or sexual purity in general is important?

I wouldn't consider dating a woman who works as a cop, soldier, firewoman, or really any dangerous profession. I guess any sort of sex work is out of the question as well.

My top 3 would be
1. Sex Workers
2. Lawyers
3. Actors

I would not date anyone in general, but those 3 are the top for bad news.

When you say anyone in the government, would you include say a warehouse supervisor for the LCBO or a manager at a government run casino as well? Since you're from Ontario I just felt like asking.

Honestly, I don't think the profession is what's important. I know people from all walks of life and each is different.

i'd say people who's jobs make them away from home most of the time like travel nurses, contracted workers, business workers who travel all the time. just because while i am not high maintenance to have to see my partner every day, them being gone most of the time would probably make me kinda depressed.

also people who work jobs that are extremely dangerous. around here there's coal mines. as well as firefighters and most emergency services generally. also stuff that isn't a "job" i guess but like involvement with gangs or drugs cause you piss someone off i could die and that's a no from me.

military because they are essentially just the above two reasons at the same time.

also i guess people who are things i either don't support or i feel are uh, very hit or miss. so people who are into politics or MLM schemes, people who's entire thing is "i am gonna be a famous twitch streamer, a famous rapper, i am gonna be an influencer" unless they already have a decent following and bring in money. not because of gold digging reasons but because i have seen many women especially have some bum ass dude who sits on the couch playing cod all day cause "babe imma be a famous rapper i got 5 more views on youtube today." idc if this is a side thing and they're working but if you don't have a job AND you're spending my money on this whole gig that brings nothing in return i can't do that.

Why are you so obsessed with me? Also I'm not paid at all. Do you also think that the guy who did 9/11 are also being paid to do that? There are more meaningful things that can incentivizes and radicalize people than money.

Not so much concerned with that, even though I think government run corporations are stupid. I'm more so talking about people who have any stake in legislation, parliament etc.

I hate it when people (whether teenagers or adults) act like they cant ever empathise or sympathise with kids as if they have forgotten they were once children themselves. It feels like arrogance. I think most adults who act this way are just obsessed with perfecting their "adulthood" and so in an effort to do so, they end up forgetting or even maybe suppressing their childhood memories so they can feel more like competent adults.
(although to be completely honest with you, you give me teenager vibes ma'am)

To answer the thread:
- Sex workers (of any kind), this is not debatable for me whatsoever. I cant imagine being in a serious relationship with someone while they fuck other people for a living, its basically cheating, in addition I find it degrading so I wouldn't want my partner to be engaging in anything of the sort, I also would prefer to stay as far away as possible from someone who has such a high chance of contracting STDs everyday. To begin with its one of the worst jobs anyway.

- Porn producer, I dont think I need to explain.

- I probably wouldn't date a politician or someone who works in parliament, I just feel like some parts of being a politician could lead to unethical behaviours.

- If you work at a fast food chain as a manager or in some other higher position as a long term employee.

- Plastic surgeons. Im not completely against plastic surgery ot anything, for example there are cases where people get into accidents and so really need something fixed. But if as a plastic surgeon they're bound to have done procedures that were not necessary or otherwise extreme. I dont think these kinds of procedures are particularly ethical.

- Actors. In a way it would be cool to date someone like that but, depending on the kinds of media they act in, I may not feel comfortable or it may just feel strange to me being in a relationship with them.

- Full time athlete or someone who competes in something like martial arts, boxing ect. as a full time job.

We're getting off-track. This isn't what I think about children, it's about what I think of adults who make children their job. If you can't tell the difference, you might need to work on your reading-comprehension, maybe that way you'll be able to avoid writing criticisms that completely miss the mark. But just for your benefit:

It's not that I can't sympathise with kids. I can. I just don't want to, because it's an extremely boring thing to do.
I have not forgotten that I was once a child myself. Quite the opposite, which is another reason why I don't think highly of them, or of interacting with them. Or I don't know, maybe I am just "suppressing childhood memories", like yeah that's a plausible story. Also, if you're struggling it means you have an oedipus-complex and want to bang your mom. Freud believed this, so it must be true. Trust me, I'm great at psychoanalysing, definitely not taking embarrassing shots in the dark here, no no.

Especially CEOs of big companies that are taking advantage of people and right-winged politicians. People like that.
I don't care, if you got money. My soul and my morals are not for sale.

And people working too much overtime. I care about my freetime and quality time with my partner and future kids a lot and don't want to be a slave of capitalism. I also don't want to feel like a single and a single mother, although I'm in a relationship.

I don't know about sex workers, especially if we talk about prostitutes.
I might be worried about STDs and shit and also her physical and mental health and integrity all the time, since I won't trust her clients to care for her well-being.
Let's be honest. Men who are visiting prostitutes in this century are huge creeps, who are too creepy for normal hookup culture since in time of internet, it's so fucking easy to get sex if you wanted to.
Porn actresses or other types of sex workers might be more okay with me, maybe.
