After the broadcast of the 21st episode of Lerche's Radiant, it was announced that a second season, which will also have a duration of 21 episodes, is planned to air this fall.

Radiant is based on the French comic by Tony Valente. The series has been publishing since 2013, and the 11th volume shipped in France this month. Japanese publisher Asukashinsha will release the tenth volume next month. The first anime season, with direction by Seiji Kishi (Angel Beats!), began airing in Fall 2018 and was simulcast by Crunchyroll.

That is some good news. Lets hope they don't butcher S2 by stuffing it with filler episodes like they did in the first half of the S1. Minus the filler, S1 was actually very enjoyable.

This 2nd season is really a good surprise!

I was already glad to see adapted into an anime (it's not as popular as the other mangas here in France), but the incoming arc is really what got me hooked to Radiant so I can't wait to see how it'll turn out in anime (Ocoho is coming *_*)

And for those worrying about fillers, don't, I doubt there'll be any space left for it in the story...

In a sense, it's surprising that this got a seuel shortly after S1. I mean... scores aside, it is a lackluster series, to say the least.

Though, outta nowhere, the manga already got licensed and is to be released here in Brazil, so it might not be that surprising, after all.

Really? Who's going to publish it?

This is quite unexpected. Here's hoping that the execution/narrative will get better!

I got mixed thoughts on this. First season is medicore for me at best but maybe the sequel will improve?

Did you watch it or you dropped it at early episodes ?!

It gets way better after episode 15

Just go read the manga, it's so much better. This adaptation, imo, was a disappointment.

It’s okay to look back at the past, just don’t stare too long

After the initial anime announcement I never expected this show would get more than one cour, but since it turned out that NHK is the main financier of this project, it's not surprising that the anime even gets a continuation.

Did you just exclude the context that peope may force themselves to watch the first 100 episodes of gintama by saying gintama possibly be better? It took me about 8 years to finish the first season of Gintama and it sometimes was so painful it physically hurt me. Radiant was a treat in comparison.

Eehhh. It gets really good at the main arc but the ending of the season is ok. Knowing the plot from the manga, the story is actually a bit unique.

With or without fillers, the show is your typical shounen, at least in the anime. I watched the entire first season.
All weebs creatures of the galaxy, hear this message. Those of you who listen will not be struck by western animation. You will no longer know hunger, nor pain. Your Anime have come to lead you now. Our strength shall serve as a luminous sun toward which all intelligence may blossom. And the impervious shelter beneath which you will prosper. However, for those who refuse our offer and cling to their western animation ways… For you, there will be great wrath.

Japan doesn't give a fuck about MAL scores lol, it's a kid friendly show (the manga is more mature) and obviously sells well for season 2, that's all.

After episode 10*, we have many fillers in the first 10.

The manga is better, and without the anime fillers ofc. If you like battle shonen give it a try

Wow, I'm pretty excited about this. I'm not a huge fan of shonen/action anime, but the art style and characters in Radiant are wonderful imo. I didn't think that they would be able to wrap up the story in 3 or 4 more episodes, so I was definitely hoping for another season to go more in depth with the story. That's awesome

Not surprise given the publisher, also people rely on sales and whatnot when... no that isn't always the case for an adaptation of something?

I need to catch up to Radiant of course so, we'll have to see.
