WHAT THE HECK?!

I couldn't even really follow what was suppose to be going on, what a strange short. Felt like I was watching an animated "bad" version of the Outer Limits!

I need to drop some acid to even begin to comprehend that pile.
It was grotesque and very strange.

Oh wow... I loved the music on this one.

A Hieronymus Bosch painting animated. This is the second time I see the Tree Man in anime/manga. The first one was in Berserk, one of the Godhands (Ubik, if I remember correctly) was seen inside him.

Hmm, so far this one has been the best out of Kuri's works.

As weird as it was, I actually kind of liked this one. Strange as fuck, though. And, I'm pretty sure I didn't understand much of anything.

Hm. I wonder if Fantastic Planet was somehow influenced by this, and considering that it was made a year after this.
It's gotten to the point where existence itself has become nothing but a meme; an existence that I want nothing to do with anymore.

Watched this a long time ago, rewatched it many times.

The music is so good! I love it. Almost puts you in a trance. Incredibly eerie, too.

This was also the most visually complex movie Kuri Yoji ever made.

I'd also say that it's probably my favorite Kuri Yoji film. Watched it so many times.

This was weirdness at its best!

This is the world I wouldn't have wanted to be thrown in, this was worse than hell. Everything is so bizarre and violent everywhere you look, I couldn't make up what were they. The place seems to be like an experiment place, where they cast aside worthless experiments and they decided to engage in those acts. I'm 100 for sure that no human exists there, If there was one he/she wouldn't last a second there.

The writer sure loves things that come out of assess. It was a bizarre shit but I enjoyed it anyhow, I also liked how they ended with that dinosaur looking thingy they started with.

a weird 7/10.

I was thinking about Fantastic Planet while watching this too. The creatures and their actions resemble the uncaring brutality/comedy of some scenes in that film + the art style is similar.

I think mostly this is Hieronymus Bosch stuff animated, seemingly showing the various sins of humanity.

This was the expression of hell itself wasn't it? Really interesting.

Surprisingly good, I didn't expect such complexity from Yoji Kuri. I also thought of Hieronymus Bosch, and while Kuri had borrowed some things, it felt refreshing. There's a similar macabre humor. There was some obvious symbolism but half of the time I didn't know what was going on, yet that was all fine.
