I'm having a hard time ranking the routes. Overall, it wasn't a bad game. The main story wasn't really bad, but it wasn't amazing either. Everything was really predictable and so damn slow. The CGs were also kinda meh in a lot of routes.

Everything about this sequel was so damn good.
Pros:
- The story is just so much better.
- More romance and kya moments. 💖
- The CG game is so good.
- Extra stories that respect the personalities of the characters and they all get really interesting routes.
- Too many great endings and scenes for me to pick a favorite.
- Less bugs and bad translations than the first one.
Cons:
- Fuck the puzzles even if there are only two.
- The last part of the game doesn't make any sense time-wise, but i kinda get why they did that.
- Not many choices in some parts of the game, but that didn't really matter to me.

Best ending: Mysir's good ending
Worst ending: Canus...
Best scene: Mysir sitting alone and waiting for the MC to come back. That broke my heart so much and I still think about that scene all the time.
Worst scene: Any scenes on Canus' route where he was being cheesy as hell.

This game is just too long and Edo Blossoms has some terrible routes... Saito got so destroyed in Edo Blossoms, he went from my favorite character to completely meh. This is just not the game for me and I should've dropped it a long time ago, but I guess I was trying to finish it on pretext that it's a classic. Iba is still the worst character of all time and he doesn't deserve anything nice.
Some really vague route ranking that was done pre-Edo Blossoms: Saito -> Sakamoto -> Souma -> Sano -> Okita -> Kazama -> Heisuke -> Shinpachi -> Yamazaki -> Sanan -> Iba

I can't do a top with this VN at all... It's been such a wild ride and the story has been incredible. It's an otome game, but this story isn't really one since they're all the same character in the end. I don't really know how to judge it either. All I'll say is that Alice is the best and Matsuoka did a fantastic job voicing him. If you don't mind edge, it's an amazing VN.

~ Random Q&A Section ~

Hello MAL traveler~
This is just a place for me to answer some questions I get often or to reply to some things I see on the forums. There's a limit of how many times I can answer the same questions over and over again so I'm just just going to do it this way. This is not 100% serious and since I do not control the time yet: The information here might be wrong by the time you read it and I might not have had time to update it. Maybe I didn't feel like updating it too! Who knows! This will also contain some of my opinions that might not represent the entire team and I'm not planning on writing like a robot so a bit of my personality will be mixed in here so don't take what I write badly. Even with all these disclaimers, I very well know that some of my words will be misinterpreted or used for situations they were not meant for, but that's fine as long as this little space can help a few people.

- General Rules -
- Remove the 30 character rule!
That's not going to happen, period. The character rule was added to prevent spam and it's working. I see a lot of people wanting this, but they also want to post things like a reaction image or "I agree with this post" which is exactly why that rule exists. Those posts would be removed either way even if that rule wasn't there because they are still considered spam in the Site & Forum Guidelines:
Spam:- Content without any purpose, coherency or relevance whatsoever.
- Off-topic posts that derail a thread from its original topic.
- Chatting with other users. Please use your profiles, PMs, or our IRC channel for this purpose.
- Reaction images/videos and other images with no relevance to the discussion.
- Quote-chaining (with or without +1/I agree/this/yes/lol/ type comments).
- Bypassing the minimum character requirement for posts.
All the boards aren't at 30 characters either, it's only for the two boards that are the most at risk of getting huge amount of spam (Anime Discussion & Casual Discussion).
Here are the character limits for each board:
- 30 characters:
Anime Discussion, Casual Discussion
- 15 characters:
All other main boards. (News Discussion, Anime & Manga Recommendations, Series Discussion (includes sub-boards), Manga Discussion, Introductions, Games, Music, Current Events, Creative Corner, MAL Contests)
- 5 characters:
Announcements, DB Modification Requests (includes sub-boards), Support, Suggestions
- 1 character:
Forum Games
- No char limit:

Also, yes, I know. Character limit doesn't really make sense for this purpose, but that's how it is written in the reminder pop-up so I have to use it like this. I'm also so used to saying "character limit" that I might still say that even if it was changed.
- Content without any purpose, coherency or relevance whatsoever.
- Why are controversial topics not allowed?
Now that's something I mostly see from people who weren't around before the rule was added. (I might be wrong here, I don't have eyes everywhere.) Controversial topics really bring the absolute worst in people and always end up in a huge mess of abuse, harassment and trolling. It took a very long time before that rule was added, but it was needed. It's just not possible for our small team of forum moderators to keep a constant watch on this kind of topics and ultimately, this is an anime website. It's just not the best place to talk about this. A lot of hobby websites just ban talks about controversial topics completely.
- How to...? -
- How do I change the size of my avatar/profile picture/signature?
That's something I get pretty often, but I'm not too sure why. I thought kids were good with technology! I'm waiting for the boomer memes
If it's a normal picture (.jpg, .png, etc.) and you usually use imgur: There's already a tool you can use to resize your picture there. It won't be the best, but it should do the job. You just go on the picture post then hover on the picture then you should see two options: "Copy Link" and "...". If you click on "...", you should get the "Edit Image" option. There you get tools to crop and resize your picture.
You could also use ResizeImage.net if you want something with a few more options, but simple. This one also works for .gif. Gifs are always a pain to resize so your options are pretty much that website or ezgif.com.
Now, you're feeling fancy and you want to do a bit more, but you don't want to download anything. Good for you, because there are a bunch of free online image editors! You can pretty much just google that, but I sometimes use Photopea. If you want to download one, there's GIMP and Pain.NET for example.
Those are just examples! They're apps/websites I find reliable enough to recommend them, but remember in these cases: "Google is your friend."
- Where do I upload a picture to post on the comments/forums or use as a signature?
Again, <insert your preferred search engine> is your friend. The two most popular websites are currently ImgBB and imgur I think. You can also use discord if you want, that works pretty well too. I would recommend using a personal server if you do that then once it's uploaded -> right click on the picture then "copy link". There you go, you got an uploaded picture.
- Moderators/Staff -
- Why is it taking so long before you answer my report/submission? / How does the moderation system work?
All the teams are currently swamped with work. We try to get as fast as we can to your own report/submission, but we're only humans who do the moderator job in our own free time. We all have other obligations in life, but we all put a ton of hours in MAL and we're not paid to do so. No, it's not hidden compared to what Nux Taku is believing. Moderators on most websites just aren't paid unless the company is selling a product that generates a ton of profit and MAL doesn't have that. This website does not make nearly enough money to pay moderators. No one is being kidnapped to become a moderator, we're all doing this because we like the website and we want to give something back. Yes, I'm sure. No, I'm not gonna send some S.O.S in a few minutes.
So how does moderation work, especially on the forums: It's like just having a tiny hose to stop a fire in front of you then you turn around and you see the entire forest in on fire. What do you do? You get that tiny hose and you continue to try to stop the fire from spreading. There's also the good old chemical fire that was in a corner and you didn't see it. You need some special stuff to put that one out and it takes so much more time than the little fire you were dealing with before. If you see some posts in a board about "a lot of thread not being locked/deleted/etc", there's a good chance that there's a huge fire going on somewhere you're not seeing. MAL is a lot bigger than what most people think with all the sub-boards. On top of that, forum moderation does not only include the forums and I wish it would be better explained. Forum moderators are in charge of making sure people respect the Site & Forum Guidelines. That includes comments, forums, people database comments (directors, voice actors, etc), private messages and profiles. We also sometimes have to intervene in clubs.
How it works for the tired fire brigade:
Anime database: Please send those guys a lot of cute kitten or puppy pictures, they need it. This is what they're currently dealing with: Unapproved MAL Entries - Anime.
Manga database: Please send those guys a lot of cute kitten or puppy pictures, they need it. This is what they're currently dealing with: Unapproved MAL Entries - Manga.
Forums: It goes up and down depending on the season and what issues we're dealing with. Since December 2020: The wildfire is huge and we all need a break.
Recommendations/Reviews: Same as above.
Database and reviews workloads are from my own perception here, you can always ask one of the staff members in those teams if you want to know more. :)

- The new mods don't have enough posts, they're not qualified! Bring me my pitchfork!
They are qualified even if they don't have a ton of posts. Usually, we try to get people who are more active in community, but unfortunately there aren't a lot of people who want to become forum moderators. The current forum moderators had the experience necessary to be moderator and they got appropriate training. They're not doing an awful job by any means, but they will be judged on whatever people can find. Whatever normal mistake they will do will also be attributed to this in some way. Remember what I said earlier: Moderators are humans. They do make mistakes.
It's really hard to get forum moderators because I mean, you're going to be hated no matter what you do. There's no way around it. Even if you're the most relax person in existence, you will be hated just for being a forum moderator. You get to help a ton of people and they will be grateful to you, but the negative messages end up getting to you one way or another. I know everything I've said sounds pretty negative here, but overall I like being a moderator for that first group of people who really need help + I also get to read funny posts that make my day more often than not. If you have a pretty thick skin and you're the kind of person who likes to think before acting: Consider applying as forum moderator. Yes, there's a recruitment pretty much every year for that position.
- Website Issues -
- Are you going to fix X that needs coding to be fixed?
No, I'm not a programmer. Please use the Support board to check if your issue has been posted and/or solved. Take the time to really look up if it's been posted before. You can do so with the search bar at the top right side and selecting "Forum" in the drop list. If you click "View all results for x" at the bottom, you will have access to a bunch more results and options. I recommend this if you want to make sure a thread with your issue doesn't already exist.
- When are you going to add x to the website?
Repeat after me: I'm not a programmer. The programmers are conscious of what the popular requests are and yes, they do know about what's being posted in the Suggestions board, but they can only do so much at one time. If you have a suggestion, please post it to the Suggestions board. Take the time to really look up if it's been posted before. You can do so with the search bar at the top right side and selecting "Forum" in the drop list. If you click "View all results for x" at the bottom, you will have access to a bunch more results and options. I recommend this if you want to make sure a thread with your suggestion doesn't already exist. There's also a list of previously denied suggestions you can find here.

Modding takes a crazy amount of time and after doing a few hours of that, you don't necessarily have the energy to post more on the forums. I do try to post as much as I can, but it's not much.
- Why are you offended by x or y?
It takes a lot for me to be offended by something and I mean a LOT. There hasn't been much on MAL that has offended me. The only thing I can remember was seeing actual child pornography. That one offended and traumatized me for a while. I got a strong stomach and I've seen some pretty messed up stuff on the internet in general, but I wish I wouldn't have seen that picture. So yeah, that's pretty much all that can actually offend me. If you try to somehow beat that, I don't know what to tell you...
- Why do you sound like you have a stick up your ass?
That's just my way of typing when I mod and there's a simple reason for that: Moderators don't win! If I type in a more relaxed way aka more or less the way I'm typing right now, but usually with more emotes, it leads to:
1. More useless misunderstandings. When I mod, I want to make sure that my message is relayed to the other person as clearly as possible.
2. People thinking I'm unprofessional. I'm not being paid, but I still need to maintain a professional image. I do put a lot of effort into making the website better so I'm not too against that.
If I think the other person understands what I'm saying well, they might get a bit more of my relaxed typing and a few jokes here and there.

What a surprise this was! I usually get tired of a story at around 100 chapters, but I wanted so much more of this. The political intrigue just started and it felt like a prologue. I feel like I need to read a novel based on the rest in the future. I was curious about the real people in this manga and I was so sad Angelo wasn't real! or at least not prominent enough to be really known? I couldn't find anything about him, but I really liked him. The author did good with his character, making sure even a newbie that didn't know much about that era could slowly get up to speed at the same time as the main character before switching the focus was really well done. The art was absolutely gorgeous too. I stayed on some pages a long time just admiring all the details.

I tried to like it, but I just couldn't get on board with the main character and how she barely had any personality trait outside of being obsessed. It kinda makes sense in a theatrical way, but not fun to read as a manga. The mom interested me a lot though and we barely hear about her! I'm going to try the light novel (Izana) whenever I got the time.

Oh god, my poor secret santa... I'm not going to tell you this because I don't want to make you depressed during the holidays, but you might see it there. I usually have extreme bad luck around December & January. Either I hurt myself, some things go wrong or I go through grief. This year wasn't an exception and this manga instantly became very precious to me because of this. It really helped me go through some hard times and I think I'm going to go back to it in the future. Please don't feel bad if you somehow read this. I hope everyone I miss found what they were looking for. <3

Finally reading it after years of not being able to decide if I should or not! I'm so glad I could finally see the ending of this manga. I don't even know how to describe it except that it was one of the most interesting journey I've read. I love what the author did with the genre and tried so many new things.
