Preliminary Spoiler
Feb 16, 2015
Note: the finale is episode 24. Episodes 25 and 26 are ‘extras’, set during the timeline before episodes 23 and 24. I wanted to point this out to future viewers as I didn’t enjoy the realisation that the show was reaching a conclusion as I was watching and earlier than I expected!
Eps 25 and 26 can be viewed chronologically with the rest of the series (after ep 21, before ep 23) but they work well thematically, as a kind of, second ending.

K-On! season 1 covers two years in 13 episodes. Season 2 covers senior year (for Yui, Rin, Mio and Mugi) in 26 episodes. ...

If you get here, you probably already saw the first season of this anime series. If you are not, well, some generic information about K-On! will be here. But I cannot bypass comparison between K-On! (first season) and K-On!! (second one). And yes, minor spoilers can be ahead, but due to anime plot, they will not matter.

So our old friends Yui, Mio, Mugi, Ritsu and Azusa as always drink tea in every possible ocсasion... uh, I mean, they play together in the light music club. And just as in the first season, mostly there are no important problems, and all comedy stands on some ...

Preliminary (22/26 eps)
I think that K-On! is now the second anime I've watched twice in its entirety. In the last few episodes, I realized how similar it is to The Wire in some ways. It's not about crime or anything, but it takes its brand of slice-of-life very seriously and never compromises its vision with anything other than providing a snapshot of these characters' reality. Additionally, artificial weight isn't added to important moments through melodrama, the show is just good enough that the stuff that's supposed to leave an impact does so on its own. I've seen no other anime like it and few other pieces of ...

K-On+movie review

A story about spending your high school years can be told in many ways like using metaphors or philosophy or from a critique point of view or a lesson about life but K-ON doesn’t need that stuff to convey the message to his viewer.

K-on uses the most simple and silly things friends do daily to tell a nice , fun and beautiful story about friendship , bonds , identity and making memories in our high school years with the help of our characters . Our characters are 5 normal high school girls who decide to form a music band and spend ...

K-on! All about moeness. Who doesn't want a moe,air headed, boyish, ojosama like (young female) characters? This show is a perfect fit. Season 1 was great and Season 2 was also great and episode difference? 13:26

Story:- 8/10. K-on! Starts from where the girls began their high school life until their graduation, K-on bu or as in Light Music Club was on a brink of disbanation but Rin manages to recruit all 4 main characters and Sawa-Sensei. Azunyan was introduced later on when they are in second year. The story was based on more on their slice of life rather than music though it is ...

Finding the words to describe just how much I enjoyed K-On may be difficult. I'm going to do it anyway.

Coming into this season after having watched season 1, I expected to be met with the same cuteness and carefree whimsy that season 1 gave me. For the most part, that was what I received. What I wasn't prepared for was just how much I grew to love each and every character and their personalities.

From an outside perspective, the members of the Light Music Club seem a bit bland and a bit TOO normal, but that's a huge strength: relatability. These characters are the kinds of ...

This is a love letter to K-On, so if you're searching for a comprehensively and objectively driven review then this isnt for you. And also, this review is of K-On in general, not just the second season, it's just that the second season touched on a lot of the things I mentioned here so I thought it was the most suiting one.

There are few shows that can capture flawlessly what they’re trying to portray: sometimes some pieces go missing amidst the plot, sometimes the characters are not convincing enough, or maybe the story isn’t even one that you can fully relate to or immerse yourself ...

I have watched a lot SoL comedy animes like Chuunibyou, Yuruyuri, etc. When i watched this, in simple words, just, a masterpiece of the genre (The best SoL comedy i have ever seen)
Cute characters, amazing comedy, KyoAni animated, Aki Toyosaki as Yui, and a lot, BUT A LOT GOOD MUSIC.
I don't know why this show about girls drinking tea after the school has a better animation than a generic shonen, a better comedy than a romantic comedy or better characters than any drama in general. The studio, that deserve a lot of the succes of the series, Kyoto Animation adapted a singular manga 4-koma made ...

Shows like this one aren't easy to find.
K-on!!, just like its prequel, has an exquisite realization.
It is the simplest series you could ever think about, no action, no drama, no romantic love, no magic; just five ordinary schoolgirls who live their last year in the same high school.

But behind that normality there's so much more: the stunning friendship you could only get once in a lifetime, the good music, the nostalgic feeling of spending together the last days of school, the pain of leaving the club and moving on...

Keep some tissues by your side, and get ready to experience high school life once ...

This anime is a absolute masterpiece. The story while essentially plot-less other than a few high school girls in a tea drinking, food eating, and once in a while music playing club is immensely enjoyable. Season two is just as good as the prior but perhaps even better with 26 episodes to watch. The voice actors do their job to the T and the music is outstanding. While it is absolutely not ground breaking the anime is one of the most enjoyable I have ever seen, with the art-style on top of it all being unique. K-ON is a 10/10 without a doubt.

K-On is one of the greats because of its incredible longevity. I am writing this review almost 12 years after its debut, and the main thing that struck me about it is how good it looks compared to modern anime. This will always be remembered as a work that had 110% effort put into it from day one, excepting perhaps, the trouble of animating more musical scenes. I'm inclined to forgive it for this solely for its spectacular season 2 opening, where the camera spins around the band in full CGI, but looks like perfect 2D animation. I kept watching it over and over trying ...

Absolutely amazing series. A continuation of the lives of Mugi, Ritsu, Yui, Azusa, and Mio from the first season, taking the main 4 of the group through their senior year. It introduces Ui, Yui's little sister, and Jun, a friend of Ui and Asuza, as a second group of protagonists to follow. Some episodes give an interesting back-to-back where one follows the older girls through a period of time, then you immediately see next episode the same period from the youngers' point of view.
While just as aesthetically and musically appealing as the previous season, it seems as though having twice as many episodes doe ...

Normally i would avoid watching shows of this nature, but K-on is an exception to how i view shows like this. K-on on the surface looks like a generic cute girls shows with lots events that don't matter. However in a sense it is very close to being a masterpiece. This primarily because Naoko Yamada and the team at Kyoto animation elevated it higher than its source material.

Story:8/10
K-on story is about how people become better and function better with friends and the way it executes the premise is honestly flawless in a myraid of ...

In K-On, there's not much story in it, its mostly just like what everyone says, cute girls doing cute things. The execution of it is really good compared to many animes. This anime is both funny and charming at the same time.

The animation of K-On is really good, characters moves very smoothly and could be quite realistic. The background art is quite standard as most anime.

The characters of K-On are great, we get to know more about the characters as the episode goes along.

The music in K-On is also great, the opening and ending songs and especially the insert songs which are very memorable.

K-On is that kind of animes that I can rewatch every time i am feeling down or have nothing to do And still enjoy it as the first time i have watched. The story is so enjoyable that it can not get boring.Me myself I rewatched it for 3 times. The characters have so different personalities that they come together in a perfect relation And their high school life is so relatable (to me).The anime can be emotional sometimes byt I think it is in a comedy genre more than an emotional one.I hope everyone watch this anime at least once.It is so great !

K-ON season 2 is a classic. It follows the adventures of the Light Music Club (A school pop/rock band) which consists of four girls in their last year of high school, and one girl in her second year.
This isn't a simple slice-of-life anime. Even though it's laid back, it's clear right from the beginning that all five girls know four will graduate this year and one will be left behind.
There's a weight to the show that builds over the course of it, and it winds up being extremely emotional.
K-ON is by no means a sad show - It hails from Manga Time Kirara, a magazine ...

It's the final year before Yui Hirasawa and company will graduate, leaving behind a single kouhai to carry forward the Light Music Club. Tea & cakes included! We follow 5 normal highschool girls as they make music, study, worry about their futures, individually and as a whole, deepen their friendships and live their life.
Kyoto Animation's K-On!, whose popularity took many people by surprise, has received a second season, distinguished by the extra exclamation mark. I'll be presenting an unbiased review of K-on!!, followed by a 'personal' view on the anime. This may contain slight spoilers!

Story (7) - K-on!! is a slice-of-life anime about ...

So, K-ON! This musical band centred anime, which is not a *musical* comedy, has now finished its second round. What can I tell you about it, huh?

First of all, K-ON!! is still not about music. It drifted even more away from that direction, and I found that hardly surprising. This show is character-driven, therefore the setting doesn’t play first fiddle here. But that is a little disappointing, because I expected more insert songs, since the second season received twice the length of the first one and it was an awaited project. However, the featured music takes not by number, but by quality, with my favourite ...

So I'm not one to make reviews but I really have to vent this out. this anime and very few from the ones I have seen which isn't very many makes me feel so much for the characters. There are times I want them to get on with it, but it's really subtle and love how calmly the story carries on.

Again the characters are adorable and it makes me feel sad when the characters are sad. And happy when they're happy. Which is a reason I postponed watching this anime for a while I feel like I got close to the characters because there ...
