So I discovered this little short thanks to a commercial for a construction company called Taisei that I happened to stumble across a bunch of years ago.
The commercial was my first introduction to Makoto Shinkai, and his beautiful art direction. I felt the need to search further into the man's work, and the first thing I stumbled upon was this short film that I'm reviewing now.
It's only a short and sweet 7 minutes. The intent of this short is to remind people what growing up feels like from the perspectives of both the parent and the child. All at once, it'll be saddening and touching;
...
and it gets its message across in the perfect amount of time.
It's not fair to judge it based on typical qualities such as story and characters as that is not the intent here. It almost feels closest to something like a PSA, just based on the narrator and how it brings up almost every emotion a family is bound to go through over the years. The relatability is what matters here. These "characters" are based on the accessibility of projection, but never come across as lifeless. It's a hard technique to pull off, but it's done very well here. I personally felt very connected to the message and the people, as I am a fan of family-centered pieces.
To be even more appealing than need be, this animation adds some flavor for us to enjoy by setting us in the future. It's a small addition, but adds life to a universe that is otherwise very small.
If there's one thing this animation does very well, it's taking care of its audience. You can relate to it, enjoy its minor details, and not feel like your time has been wasted. Hell, I wasted your time more so with this review.

Given the number of cute girls, loli's, and a rabbit girl, you would expect a lot of perverted content, but this Anime is very tame and managed to keep their full clothing on 98% of the time. The story and journey are amazing, but 10 episodes are not even close to being enough to cover everything and given how much potential there was, there could have been so much more, easily 50+ eps worth. That is the only issue I found, which leads to a lot of content that never got a whole lot of depth and a story that seems somewhat rushed and unfinished,
...
or possibly all the material in between that could have been done.
There is a very satisfying amount of action, it is what these games come down to, even though they could be kind of game. Aside from a brief, and another slightly longer hot springs scene, 1 image, and a couple pervert based jokes, there is none of that content surprisingly. Something interesting is the inclusion of some mythology and fairy tail/history bits, so if you are into those, it makes the story quite a bit more appealing. If there is 1 positive thing to say about the rather short episode count, it's that it's never boring as something is always happening. It doesn't feel conclusive though, conclusive to 1 incident, yes, but for the Anime, no.
The characters are the key component here, and make it so enjoyable. They made the cast quite interesting, and there are several, all rather diverse. They did go pretty loli & female heavy, but given the action, their target audience is males, they keep their clothes on though, minus one scene. The costumes for the characters look great, and the coloring & design of the characters look good too. The special skills each character has is quite interesting, I didn't find anyone to be boring.
I liked the colorful animation and colorful design of the characters. The opening was pretty epic, but the ending rather lame.
Overall, a great watch, even if it doesn't feel conclusive or finished. The characters combined with the story make it really entertaining, and there is plenty of action. It never feels boring and unfortunately, the Anime is over before you know it. The cast is female heavy, and loli heavy too, but at least they don't use them to sell the Anime as perverted material beyond a few brief moments and stick to keeping it tasteful, they could have easily gone the other route and sold it for the "plot".

This animation is by far my favorite, mainly due to its historical background, that deals with history and culture alike. I am a huge History geek and It was unbelievably fun way to learn about history. For those who do not think of it as a History animation, I can give you one tip. The true history is in the detail, and if you are a true history nerd like me you will notice it straight away. Like "rock those shorts like a hugo boss" mainly because german nazi soldiers were made by hugo boss, or when america come in super late during war
...
in Africa and claiming they won, when England already won it themselves. Therefore I believe it is a very accurate anime that shows history in the most fun and enjoyable way.
The animation at the begining was quite meh, but then it actually developed really well in the newer series, which were more appealing hehe
The sound, I personally prefer the english dub, mainly due it having the accents right for each country, and that you can learn a few words and sentences in the given language, mainly Spanish german japanese French and Italian. Also I found the english voice actors much more funnier and nicer to listen to, especially Romano Prussia Spain and England.
The characters represent the countries sterotypically, many are faulty like poland and finland in my opinion, but the rest is quite accurate at least sterotypically wise haha They have an indepth and more complex personalities, were england sees unicorns and faires, italy has anxiety and paranoia? and russia has a some weird bi-polar disorder, in general I enjoy the series as they are short, each episode is 5 minutes long. They kept me entertained and are nice to rewatch, I might have rewatched them so much that I know most quotes from it haha but yeah this is my Number 1 anime and I highly recommend! well unless ur over sensitive with Italy being fascist and germany a nazi, or maybe u get offended by how your country is portrayed then no do not watch it XD

Written after watching episode 11
*Takes deep breath*
HERE'S THE THING
Story
Makes no sense. Every got dang episode throws a new wrench into the already craptastic plot making it less and less realistic and interesting. The farther I watch the more confused and outright annoyed I get with how things are playing out simply because it isn't going anywhere. Nothing has even been resolved since episode 1! Y'know what's gonna happen? The final episode is going to come around where the writers say "Oh frack, we need to end it now? Uhhhh okay. *proceeds to 'resolve' everything in a crappy manner within the 20 minute time slot availbale*"
Why
...
tf is internet addiction such a terrible thing in this anime world anyway? I am aware it exists, but is it really worth it to build an entire school to deal with it? Also who's bloody genius idea was it to use violence to "cure" the addiction? It is in no way a good "solution" to the problem and really, at best, will only replace their internet addiction with other mental disorders. It won't make them better members of society, it'll ruin them for the rest of their lives, moreso than an addiction to internet will.
Animation
AhahahahahahHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I CAN'T.
This animation is by far the worst I have ever seen. Never before have I been so astounded by how bad the animation is. It certainly doesn't help that every episode becomes less animated than the one before. It started out really good, I will give it that! But y'know what? In this last episode, I kid you not, there was a good 10 seconds of staring at a single frame. The character was talking and everything, but the picture? Not moving. Nope. None. Absolutely frozen.
Additionally there are countless times where characters are talking but their mouths are still closed; characters "walk" down the hallways without actually moving; they practically jump across the screen for no reason, and the scenery/character models are constantly inconsistant: her jacket is torn and unzipped, oh wait, no it's perfectly fine now oka-- nope, it's ripped again. There's a tray on the table, wait what? there's not? That's weird...
I could go on, but I'll spare you my tangent.
Sound
Certainly the best aspect of the whole show, but even then it's terrible. Unnecessary sounds, weird laughs that are supposed to be sincere but just sound like someone made a bad pun, etc. I've heard worse voice acting, but this show still gets no time of day from me.
Characters
Boring. Inconsistant personalities. Unnecessary personalities. Pointless characters. MC flip flops from "op main who does everything perfect" to "Lolololol how do I do simple thing???" every episode.
A lot of characters revolve around a very specific trait that is simply used for driving the plot, albeit into a ditch, making pretty much everyone an annoying butt.
Overall
Don't waste your time with this like I have. So many times I've considered dropping this but I've kept through just so I can tell others not to watch this and with a good reason.
Usually I'll keep going with an anime through to the end, and sometimes even rec bad ones (in certain circumstances), if there's at least one redeeming feature in it - be it plot, characters, comedy, etc. - but this one? Nothing. I can't even laugh at how bad it is anymore. There is nothing that can make this anime worth the 4 hours it'll take to watch.
Save yourselves. Run away, far far away. before it's too late.

I thought this was a pretty good show, so I wanted to go ahead and add a review providing some positive notes and defense of the series. I think it deserves some more attention, and hopefully some of what I mention will help some people who are on the fence about watching it after seeing it's current rating on this site. I'll remain vague about some specific aspects, but the review won't be entirely spoiler free.
I started watching this show because I am a sucker for series that center around the mediums I like, gaming and Anime. If a show is about characters doing something
...
that I also do, or can do, like playing card games, board games, video games, or in this instance, watching Anime, then I feel more of a connection with it. It's something that is replicatable, and makes me feel more involved. While I do tend to find fantastical series more interesting, and what not, there's nothing wrong with something a little more down to earth. I think that's why I ended up liking this more than I thought I would. As those two concepts tend to come together at the end, and the line between reality and Anime becomes pretty blurry.
Starting off with some of the more basic things, I think the OP was one of the best of the entire Winter 2018 season, and even the ED started to grow on me there at the end. It definitely had some nice music. In terms of art and animation, it was okay. Nothing too bad, nothing too good. As long as nothing looks too wonky, that's fine by me, I generally care more about the content than the appearance.
Beyond that, the first major thing that drew me in were the various references. I've always had a mindset of "what if something was named this, instead of this." I've always considered opening a competing chain of stores with a similar name to something that already exists. Stuff like that is amusing to me. So, seeing various Anime being referenced with a different name is always welcomed, and it's not as if this series was the first to do that, but it had some good ones. Some of my favorites from this were: Ru:ZERO, Fresh Princess of Tennis, and A Reindeer in August.
As we progressed, I found the discussion and criticism about Anime to be extremely interesting. I liked how we could use Minoa as an excuse to get a lot of geeky and techincal discussion about Anime. From seeing the characters attend an Anime convention, and talk about the different aspects of fandom, to centering more on the creation of Anime itself. It's always neat to be able to see a behind of the scenes of how things work. So getting to a point in the series where they attempt to create their own Anime, and we get to see the different processes that go into the completion, from the art, the music, the voice acting, and so on all the way to completion. I enjoyed it more than some of the other series in the past couple years that have attempted to break that process down.
But, the first thing that really impressed me was the resolution of the problem introduced in Episode 1. I didn't actually expect them to figure out what the series that Minoa was looking for was. Lately it seems like a lot of these one cour shows don't allow themselves to end. They reach for another season, yet they don't get renewed so we get this show that just hangs there with no, or even worse, half a resolution. I actually prefer short stories that give us an ending. Not that epic stories aren't interesting, and if done right can be phenomenal. However, there's nothing wrong with embracing a one cour limit, and I believe this series was successful because of that. It definitely wouldn't work as well as two cour, and hopefully they won't try to force another season. It's good as it is.
In regards to the ending, from the beginning of the series, it sold itself as being self-aware. I also didn't really expect anything to come out of that, despite getitng some leeway from the audience. In the end, going full on alternate world in the final two episodes was probably the most interesting thing they did in the entire series. I was pretty taken back as things were getting wonky and crazy, and I didn't expect them to fully embrace it. I thought it was just going to be a disappointing one episode gimmick. Yet, it wasn't, furthermore; I think it came at the right time in the series and was executed pretty well. It transitions pretty well between thinking Minoa is simply succumbing to chuuni-ism to the realization that more is going on.
All in all, the series has some nice points to it. There is a lot to be taken away for those who are new or veteran to Anime.

I choose this show because was potentially more common and easier to write a review. However, I found a show different from expectation.
Story:
Substantially, a guy is forced to join in a club ready to be closed for insufficient elements. And you said: "where i have hear this?" Probably in almost every school club show. The list is really long. Other elements are girls who spend the time playing. Just the name of the club and the game they produce worth watching the whole series. Im not interested to spoiler the show, but the story follows the club's elements and a a few other through
...
school life.
What makes the show worth watching? The story starts pretty common, but i found in the direction something really awesome. Because, some lines are maybe better for a parody instead than a romcom. Im not joking, when i watched it i thought: im laughing like with noucome and korezom (2 parodies). And i dont remember a comedy so funny. However, everyone has a different sense of humour and i understand that is pretty personal.
Second, the characters. Im not saying that they are so unique, but the director use them in a great way. There isnt a char that eclipse all other, but everyone has his space to make the show funnier.
Animation: Decent
Sound: Nothing to write
Characters:
Its hard write in this section. Because by one side, they are common. On the other, they works together in a wonderful way. And its nice when episode after episode, the bond within them grow.
The only i will write two words about is kenji kazama. I usually expect something from the male MC. He isnt empty, he isnt a weak person,he has some character. I cutted other show's rating when the male MC was pretty useless.
Overall:
I could reccomend this show if you like school comedy show. And even if you like this genre of show, you could not like the humour and (unfortunately) watch a mediocre show. The only thing i can say is: give it a try.

Inuyashiki is a sci-fi anime series that adapts a manga with the same name, which was written and illustrated by Hiroya Oku; who is also the original creator of Gantz. The anime focuses on the two individuals: Shishigami Hiro and Inuyashiki Ichirou. Although, very different, the two gained the same powers, with which they are now able to not only destroy Japan but also the whole world. The question; however, is that how these two are going to use these super powers?
Anyway, Inuyashiki is, indeed, a better version of Gantz. Yet, if you have never heard of Gantz, or if you do not want
...
to watch this anime only because of the fact that Gantz was too much for you, do not jump to any unnecessary conclusions yet. As a fan of Gantz there is a 90% chance that you will highly appreciate this series, because sometimes Inuyashiki is just too realistic, but later about that. For those who have never heard of Gantz, you are in a better position. I do not have to explain you anything.
Inuyashiki Ichirou is a living embodiment of misfortune: he is only 58 years old, but he looks like he is actually 70 something years old. He earns money for his family and tries not to be a burden for his family, at the same time his family sees him only as a source of money. In addition to this, the main protagonist of the series finds out that he has cancer at an incurable stage. Having heard the news, Ichirou heads back home to explain the whole situation to his family and when he is about to engage in this rather tragic conversation with his family, he understands that his family does not care. Can it even become worse now? And the answer is yes. Ichirou goes for a walk with his only true friend, his dog. Being in the position where no one actually cares about you, the man speaks with his fluffy buddy, which is the only living being that he can talk to. Suddenly, Inuyashiki Ichirou notices a young man standing nearby. A strong blinding light in the night sky strikes the earth where Ichirou and the young man stand. He later wakes up to find out that he is no longer ill and that his body is now something that can either save, or destroy the world. How the new superhero is going to use that power? And what is he now?
If you are a fan of Hiroya Oku sensei, I am sure that you will give this series a try. The main thing I have to say is that this show is very similar to Gantz, but at the same time they both are very different. Inuyashiki is a more realistic series that focuses on the life of the real human beings: their personalities, their fears, and desires are all realistic. Of course, Inuyashiki focuses on science fiction, but at the same time it is something that might be real in 20 something years. However, if you have no idea what Gantz is, or if you are a big hater of this title, I highly recommend you to give Inuyashiki a shot: it is a mature superhero story that has a nice Texhnolyze, Gungrave, Serial Experiments Lain and Ergo Proxy vibe to it. Though, the story does not give a comprehensible explanation on the nature of the superpowers, it still offers the viewer superb story development. Note: the show does explain it, but does it indirectly; I am not going to do the thinkings for you.
Art wise, you should definitely find the biggest TV in your apartment and watch this series on it; that is what I did. The animation is simply splendid. Only after watching the opening you want to watch more and more of it; it is too realistic sometimes. Character designs, background, and action scenes are amazing, too. The only problem; however, is that the anime sometimes uses the Berserk (2016)-like CGI that hurts your eyes. But it is not a bid deal, since it is only used for unnecessary scenes. Sound wise, the anime has some good opening and ending themes, as well as a nice OST. The bad thing; however, is that there should have been more tracks.
Characters wise, it is where the show truly shines. Shishigami Hiro is the exact antithesis of Inuyashiki Ichirou. Though, their fate is quite similar, they are two very different individuals that have different understanding of how they are supposed to use their superpower. The two protagonists receive the same amount of development, which will help you to better understand their characters, their actions, and what is important for them. The supporting cast; however, could have received a better development, but it is also not that important, since they are not the main focus of this series.
Criticism. First, it is way too predictable. Sometimes it is just too obvious to predict what is about to happen. Not most of the times, but sometimes you just want a show to be more unpredictable. Second, it is too realistic and sometimes too emotional. The author complements the author of One Piece in his show and perhaps Hiroya Oku wanted to make his anime somewhat similar to One Piece in its depiction of emotions. It is also sometimes too disturbing: rape, drugs, and deaths following one after another, so it might be a problem for those who are too sensitive, and it is definitely not a show to watch with your younger brother, or sister. However, if you are a fan of a more mature content: an awesome drama with some superb sci-fi elements, I am sure that this show will not leave you unimpressed.
Overall (9/10)
That said, not flawless, but still a very enjoyable show. If you believe that you are mature viewer, I guess that you will find this show enjoyable. It does have a very slow start, but when you realize that you are watching the final episode, you just do not want it to end.
Almost forgot, there is also Donald Trump.

oh well...Last night, I finished School Rumble, but found myself getting in trouble over and over today at work because I kept losing my composure and randomly laughing to myself over scenes of the show that kept playing over and over in my head.
To say that this show is hilarious may be a sore understatement. It's a good possibility this is the funniest show I've ever seen. The perfect amount of Drama sprinkled on top of this heavy Romantic/Comedy make the recipe for success.
Much to my surprise, there's even a bit of depth to this Romantic Comedy...
Tenma Tsukamoto is a total dunce...but one who is
...
totally in love with her classmate Ooji Karasuma. He is preparing to transfer when she makes it her mission to write him a love letter as a last ditch effort to get him to stay. Kenji Harima is a juvenile deliquent who is in love with his classmate Tenma, and has become tame to the idea of going to class in order to get closer to her...this triangle of one sided, occasionally delusional love is just the beginning to the hilarious antics of the cast of School Rumble...
Story: (7/10)
Despite the fact the story is as straight forward as it can be, (A romantic comedy normally doesn't stray far from its standard formula) there is actually a well put together story with a noticable progression.
It starts off fairly slowly, but as the other characters become more key to the plot (after around 10 episodes or so) the simple triangle of Tenma/Kenji/Ooji becomes more complex, involving other characters into the ensuing craziness.
There's a few holes in the story that the second installment has plenty of time to fix.
Animation: (7/10)
It's energetic, upbeat, and knows the perfect time to blank out other characters on screen to make the timing of a joke hit so much harder. You'll often find yourself wondering what's about to happen as they do a closup of Harima as he slowly riles himself up before having some crazy outburst.
Few of the characters stand out as far as their looks and appearence, save Kenji Harima, who is a very unique and excellent idea for a male protagonist.
Yakumo's mind reading ability and the way that Kanji characters appear and chase over the heads of people in her vicinity is just awesome, a concept I don't think I've seen before.
Sound: (9/10)
The opening theme Scramble, sung by Horie Yui (Who also did the voice for Eri Sawachika) is very zany, and catchy. Whether I particularly liked this song or not, it's definately been stuck in my head since the first time I've heard it.
The ending theme Onna no Ko Otoko no Ko is also fairly catchy, and just plain silly. A chibi of Harima goes through a series of motions as the
credits roll.
SR screams silliness, and hilarity even in the most subtle ways. The sound effects are a very important part of the unique comedy of the show also: An example of this in Episode 2 when Harima mouths to Tenma and as the Kanji appears on screen, the sound of a typewriter goes in the background.
Character: (10/10)
If there is one factor that contributes above all to School Rumble's amazing humour factor, it has to be its colorful cast...
Every schoolkids cliché is present here: The airheaded but super friendly one, the perfect and beautiful girl who doesn't realize her appeal, the tomboyish girl who can kick any guys ass, the spoiled and snobby princess, the deliquent who rarely goes to class, the straightedge, and of course, the lackies. The gang is all here... but what School Rumble has that so many others don't, is charm, and buckets of it.
All of the important characters are very in-depth, and you get to know them all fairly well before it's all said and done. The other main characters (Eri, Mikoto, Yakumo, Imadori, and Hanai) are actually interesting enough, that seeing their stories develop was so appealing at times, that keeping up with them took precedence over the main two. Even Karasuma, who is as one-dimensional and bland as they get, was made to be so purposely...it's what makes Tenma's attraction to him, and the time they spend together during the show, so funny.
There's also some interesting romances that begin developing at such odd points in the show, and they actually GO somewhere with it later. In alot of other shows, they'd start on something, then drop the ball.
Overall Rating: (8.25/10)
Perhaps the most fun and comedic show I've seen to date. In the meantime, I'll eagerly anticipate the next installment.

K-ON! is an incredibly endearing anime, while it isn't particularly earth shattering, it is probably one of the best of its genre. Its cute moe slice of life setting holds its own and again its a kyo ani show , who bring out the wonder in daily life with its true to life characters and visual depiction.
Story: The story isn't an amazing display of intricate story telling, but the anime is well paced, each episode has something going on and there aren't really any episodes where you feel like it was a waste of 24 minutes, nor does it become difficult to follow
...
because of too much going on. Its not varied and has a neat story with hilarious scenarios which play out well ,not to mention how the story molds on into the second season. You will find lotta perspective shots and character driven plot points without any actual glossing. Its light and that is the best praise I can give it
Story: 7.4/10
Animation: Kyoto Animation did a great job animating the series. The style is cute and captures the feeling of the series. And all the details, from the instruments to the backgrounds are captured well. Naoko Yamada is truly a master at this with her work in full metal panic and as an ED in Hibike .Her story telling using shot composition is amazing with some tonal frame shifts provide immense depth ,all in all making for a beautiful experience with a very unique take on moe depiction .
Animation: 9.6/10
Sound: K-ON! was very well cast, the seiyuus do a great job capturing the characters. Even the supporting cast is terrific and The music cute and catchy, which fits the series wonderfully. The opening Cagayake Girls! is just that , with its sharp and quick stills and shaky visuals which mirror the drama in the show.
Sound: 9.8/10
Characters: The characters are very endearing and memorable, and you will grow to love them throughout the series. The girls personalities play so well of each other, like any other show of this genre namely, A-channel or lucky star.More so in this 4-koma manga depiction that has mellow drama in spades with burst of team spirit and hilarious moments.
Characters: 9.5/10
Overall: K-ON! is funny, cute, and endearing, it does a great job capturing the 4-koma it's based on, and probably exceeds it to some degree. It's not for everyone, but for those of us who love a good slice of life anime, it's certainly well worth watching.I for one love it as it melds over perfectly with its characters and creates an unique take which I love and adore . This is one of the crowning jewels of anime depiction and uses shot composition better than any other show and its not even close . If u like four girls who dick around the whole time then go for it .
