I grew up in a predominately white neighborhood and the school I attended were majority White, but there were still quite a few Asian students there. They were mostly Chinese or Korean.

Here, people in the biggest cities prefer going to clinics for minor issues. Hospitals are for bigger/serious things - like surgery

Self medication, ah. Not really a thing here but I'm guessing that bc of America's drug problem, it's a big issue there, right? So how to drug store owners decide if a note from a doctor is genuine or not?

> Vocational schools typically aren't for rich people.
Ah, thanks for correcting me. But then again, it was because of your usage of the world "school" that confused me. For us, school ends when you graduate your 12th class. After that, it's a college, university or a special course that you can do from distance learning or a specialized institution. School is for children, period. So do most of your carpenters, plumbers etc go to such institutions or are they usually self taught?

Not really. I do know their parent because they happen to be acquaintances with my parent. One of the middle school, I do see often because she does live 5 min away so we do cross path regularly.

If you have no reason to use it your knowledge it will probably get worse. It's unlikely to be gone entirely, though. I think reading books helps quite a lot and it can even expand your vocabulary!

Do you lived in an area where there are other people from your culture?

I just find it weird how quickly Americans rush to the hospital for the smallest of things. Here, we simply go to private clinics, get prescriptions or stitches, and be done with the entire situation. Most medicine can simply be bought off the counter as well and I've always found it weird how you can rarely buy any medicine in America without a doctor's note. Is it because of your raging drug problems?

Do many people opt for vocational schools? Apart from rich people, of course. It's not a thing here, because after school, it's college and then it's either an advanced degree, preparing for govt exams, finding a job or becoming an entrepreneur.

> My parents don't want to live and deal with our spouses every day. I can understand that since I don't want to live with my siblings' spouses either.

I always put milk and sugar in , Black tea, Earl Grey or Lady Grey. Other teas I drink plain, or possibly with a bit of sugar.

yes you can but I believe that you need a fishing license to be able to fish at Lake Tahoe. Yes, you can swim, but we didn't because it was too cold.

If I were to pick a European country to lived in it would have to be Switzerland. It’s right in the middle and pretty all my country that I love going to is easily accessible by car.

Won't "allow" them? Meaning they want them to be independent, or.....??

Oh. I don't think community college is a thing anywhere outside of the US :p Many things aren't, honestly. Like ultra expensive medical care ;p

That is a normal feeling to have. When my grandfather goes back to Japan to visit his father and sibling, he also feels like he doesn't fit in. Make sense because he left Japan and move to England at 17. Like for me because I am mixed also I will always be considered a foreigner there because even some of my biracial friend that born and lived there their whole life still get treated like a foreigner. I know that America is not perfect and there are a lot of issues, but I feel more free and relaxed.

-Sonal- Apr 15, 4:33 AM
Yeah, you told me that you've never lived apart from your family, and how complicated things would be if all your siblings were to simply marry and settle in the same house. I don't think that would be physically possible - I don't think you have that many rooms.

What's a community college?

I studied something that was, back then, a progressive filed of communication, including photography, fashion communication, graphic designing and what not. It was a creative, but I chose it bc it was the easiest way (less study lol) to get a degree.

We rented a cabins on Airb&b which were really nice. The water is beautiful and clear. There are plenty of hiking trails, picnic areas, there are gondolas that take you up to the tops of the mountains.

I'm teaching 2 middle schooler and 1 elementary school. I'm a tutor for biology, chemistry and math.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
