Recommendations

They have similarities to be a story where the protagonist turns into a cat to learn a life lesson.

Neko no Ongaeshi is the story that the girl is writing in Mimi wo Sumaseba. This is direcly related since Baron and Muta (Renaldo Moon) are a huge part of the story. Both are good and give insight on each other, both are ghibli/Miyazaki's film, so it's a must watch.

there are some simulator things -There's a Cat World -People who enter the cat world somehow turn into cats

Whether you're being stolen away by cats or swept away into a world where spirits roam, you'll find yourself enjoying either movie regardless of which one you're watching. Both are produced by Studio Ghibli and are not only visually appealing, they also have fantastic plots and characters.

Where do I even begin on the similarities between these two. Both plots have the main character getting into trouble with cats and have the threat of being turned into a cat also! Both could easily take place in the same universe. The cats in Nyan Koi could easily be cats you see in The Cat Returns (attitude and personality wise). If you enjoyed one of these animes go check the other out if you haven't already!

Both anime have a similar keyword: cats. In both anime, the main characters are cats, who help the human characters escape from a difficult situation. The events of both anime happen in fantasy worlds, with fairy tale elements. These anime have overall similar moods, and Hayao Miyazaki has been involved in both of them.

Coming-of-age story with a young female protagonist who gets swept up with magical experiences and has a humorous feline companion. Also, two of the best-suited animes for children

While both of these Anime involve talking cats who walk around like Puss and Boots the real draw for both lies in the fact both series is about growing up by exploring oneself in what might be best described as an Alice in Wonderland type fashion. Both are also movies, making for a quick watch as well.

Both are wonderful and enchanting stories that can fire up your imagination.

Intelligent cats preforming human tasks and overall behaving human-like. Both main cats are paternal guardians towards the main female character.

Cat themed pieces. Kanojo to Kanojo is more focused on an emotional story while Neko no Ongaeshi takes the fantasy route.

While Tokyo Mew Mew is a magical girl TV series and The Cat Returns is a feature film, both anime are stories about a school girl that get caught up with incidents relating to animals, notably cats, and provides some good laughs. Reiko Yoshida is involved in both series, as she wrote the script of The Cat Returns and was the writer behind the original Tokyo Mew Mew manga, so both anime are also romance-oriented and may appeal to female anime fans.

Hanayamata and The Cat Returns are two anime which had their script written by industry veteran Reiko Yoshida. The main character is a shy brunette who isn't sure of herself or what she wants to do. But throughout the course of this comedic little story, she meets new people who surprise her at first but slowly lead her to change. Both of these anime also have gorgeous visuals that are a real treat for the eyes, through both color scheme and animation quality.

Curiosity killed the cat, or in this case, the cat killed curiosity. Two young females set off on an adventure to a fantasy land, with a cat companion guiding them through.

Isekai involving cats and the protagonist wants to return to her world.

Both anime are made by Studio Ghibli and have a similar mood. They both have main female characters who are students, as well as romantic elements. Both are uplifting and create a similar atmosphere, with the main difference between them being the fact that "The cat Returns" has fantasy elements.

Both feature talking cats with special powers that have unique interactions with a human girl.

I don't know how to explain, but the feelings after you watched these movies are somehow resemble each other, so... I'm sure it won't be just a waste of time, if you'll watch it. Actually, The Cat Returns is more interesting.

It's the simplicity of each one of these that make them so delightful to watch. The Cat Returns might not be realistic, but that's not the point of this recommendation anyway. Just cheer up.

Both: Talking cat(s) a living double life with slightly older animation style.

both have young schoolgirls who are unique and not typical. have elements of fantasy and supernatural in them, and tons of humour, character development, and dashes of romance. similar carefree/relaxing/comedy feel/atmosphere

In Inari, Konkon, Koi Iroha, there's a girl who gets granted a wish by a deity to thank her for saving a little fox. In Neko no Ongaeshi there's also a girl of similar age to Inari who saves a cat and gets rewarded for it and taken to the world of cats, etc.. Similar relaxing kind of feel-good anime.

Both involve the main character being whisked away into another world where they meet other people. Both include kings that rule the land they're taken to, royal advisers, and mischievous characters of some-sort (and crows lol). Both have the main character face some difficult situation that they resolve with the help of friends.

Haru and Wataru both encounter problems associated with living a normal human life, and they eventually both find escape and a chance to mature and change their lives in fantasy worlds which are hidden seamlessly in their realities. Brave story focuses on more distressing and mature issues, yet both have their lighthearted moments. The artwork is also very similar, largely centered on bright colours and fluid background which pop out at you. They also both feature cute, anthropomorphized cats, which is always wonderful!
