Ye it's nice famdawg! That's a good mindset to have to that the review doesn't get to long and wordy. Efficiency is key to writing reviews imo. I like the ones that get straight to the point.

Great! You learn more the more you write!!

I have written a review!! It was actually pretty long and had lots of character summary and stuff like that. Not really a good review I'd say. I don't think it's for me.

The balancing is pretty bad right now. I have to shave off so much modding time since school is getting unforgivable. Here's hoping my studies will actually pay off later in life.

Btw I went to PAX Melbourne last week with a buddy of mine. Was really fun!

Too right. My biggest passion, hm. Hard to say really. The stuff I seem to come back to the most fun with is functional design. Just making things look nicer (or, well, that's the goal) while also making things make more sense and work smoother. It's fun to consider how people are using things.

That's quite interesting. I always get stressed at the thought of job hunting, but I also have very little experience doing so. I'm sure it would get a lot easier the more I did it... although, I hope I don't have to get too used to it, I do enjoy having a consistent gig.

Lol you should only watch them when you feel like it! I think in the case of Gintama and LOGH, they both kind of require you to be in the right mood to fully enjoy them. I kind of had a harder time than others getting into Gintama, mainly because I wasn't too fond of some of the humor, but once it clicked with me and I got attached to the characters, I had a great time marathoning it. I think what made it digestible was how it never spent too much time on one thing, with the arcs usually being from 2-6 episodes from what I can remember.

I don't think I've seen a modern mecha :o oh wait I watched Darling in the Franxx last year... 😒 I'm trying my hardest to forget about that abomination

Ah thanks! Good to know. I feel like I'll enjoy Versailles.

I've checked out a scene or two from Tenshi no Tamago before, and the art is eery but gorgeous.

The Origin is most likely what I'd start with, I've heard a lot of good things about it and yeah, it seems standalone. Thank you for letting me know :) I've actually been itching for some mecha for a while, and I'm not even a big fan of the genre, necessarily.

Versailles sounds like something I'd enjoy, in terms of story and structure, does it feel more like a shoujo or josei to you? I believe that Anno worked on Nadia, which makes it something that I'd like to revisit someday. I also love the opening of Nadia, the visuals and character designs are so lively! I appreciate Dragon Ball for being a pioneer of the modern shounen formula, but I never really got into it. However, if I ever do, I would probably read the original manga.

Speaking of old anime, I would love to start getting into 80s and 90s OVAs! I find them interesting because they essentially did whatever they want without having to follow TV guidelines and censorship. I've read somewhere that most of the anime airing at the time were "safe" adaptations of already well-beloved manga and novels, but of course EVA came in and changed all of that, hence the "post-Evangelion" anime era lol

Ooh that would be fun. Although I don't have that many that I watched myself :) most of the older ones that I've seen were from TV when I was a kid (most memorable examples are most of the Nippon Animation shows, Nadia: Secret of Blue Water, some mobile suit gundams, Ranma 1/2, Rose of Versailles, Slam Dunk, Dragon Ball Z, Fist of the North Star, Saint seiya, Mazinger and Grendizer series, Minky Momo)

That's a fair point, actually. It makes sense why I didn't like them lol ok if we're talking about what Miyazaki has directed, it would probably be Ponyo for me. I mean, it's cute, but that's about it.
Kamara-Alya Oct 8, 3:28 PM
Right? There's just something special about classics. I need to watch more older anime honestly.

Interesting :o my definite least favorite ones are Ocean Waves and From Up on Poppy Hill. Idk why they just annoyed me a lot watching them.

Valerio_Lyndon Oct 8, 2:41 AM
True lol, everyone has patience for different things. That's the million dollar question huh, what am I passionate about? ;) But it's good advice. Films are always good fun! Lots of experiences there. Ah, job-hunting is always a joy.
Valerio_Lyndon Oct 6, 5:56 AM
Thanks. CSS is pretty simple once you've got the basics down, it's the other languages I have a hard time wrapping my head around at times. :) I've considered it, yes. I'm still rather undecided on the matter, but I think it wouldn't be so bad to do professionally. Better than some other options, anyhow. How about yourself, have you got anything picked out you're doing/aiming to do?
Kamara-Alya Oct 5, 1:33 PM
Oh wow I'm glad I just learned that! As expected of Anno :) I looked up some of the scenes he worked on and this was one of them:

I think the Nausicaa movie had a great aesthetic and fantastic production value, especially for an 80s anime film. I loved every minute of it, it really brought the manga to life which I definitely need to finish.

Ughhh I feel like I'm not ready oof
Skittles Oct 5, 9:44 AM
Oh you're from Aussie too? Which city if I may ask?

Ahh nice, we're always looking for new review mods. We actually got one new person recently who will be joining the team, though, so I'm not sure if a slot is still open. Still, it doesn't hurt to send an app since the admins might still be looking for more.
Kamara-Alya Oct 5, 12:20 AM
Oh wow, debut as in film debut, right? And then Nausicaa was next, I think. The earliest work I've seen of Miyazaki's is Mirai Shounen Conan on TV when I was a kid, my parents were also big fans of it, but we had a terrible local dubbing of it lol

That's amazing! I didn't know that and I've recently listened to some of its ost, I really like this one
I've actually read a few chapters of Yokohama a while ago and enjoyed it quite a bit, I should pick it up again sometime :)

Also omggg I just finished ep 9 in origination where Alice becomes a Prima and I was absolutely shook!! I got lots of goosebumps and feels <33 how wonderful!
Kamara-Alya Oct 4, 11:14 PM
Inosuke is hilarious. Loved his dynamic with Tanjiro, they play off of each other nicely lol and yes same here! I think it has potential to be as good as HxH if it keeps up. Actually now that I think about it, Kimetsu has a stronger start off to its story than HxH did :o I'm hoping the movie comes out next year! Please anime gods!

I knowwww >< It looks a little intimidating. I'm thinking of going with Lupin III: Cagliostro no Shiro first, I've heard lots of good things about it.

I love it when that happens, it really says a lot about its adaptation. I can't emphasize how much I love the music in Aria, and I love that they kept reusing some of older soundtracks from previous seasons <3 it really adds to the mood
Kamara-Alya Oct 4, 7:01 PM
Diamond is Unbreakable seems to be a lot of peoples' favorite season/ part. I hope I can start enjoying jojo again once I get used to the formula.

Oh oops guess I was a little late, didn't know you already watched it! I'm glad you liked it :) and I agree, I really like the main 4, their dynamics are great! (Also I thought I was going to find Zenitsu unlikable but I ended up loving him <3 he's adorable). I'm excited for whenever they decide to adapt season 2! I hope they keep up the phenomenal quality, which I'm counting on because Ufo is amazing.

I need to get into Lupin III sometime

That's a great idea, at least I'll have some more Aria to look forward to that way! btw I really find the manga's art extremely gorgeous *o*
Kamara-Alya Oct 4, 4:39 PM
Good idea, I might do that, then :)

I'm glad you enjoyed at least something lol. I feel like I should catch up with jojo but I'm not really enjoying stardust crusaders so far. Maybe I'm not into the whole "villain-of-the-day" vibe and for some reason I can't really get into the new squad, except Joseph ofc he's great as usual.

Oh and in regards to Demon Slayer, while I enjoyed it a whole lot, I wasn't really fond of the writing as a whole, the power system is rather confusing, and some characters are a little to gimmicky and one-note for me (nothing that can't really be fixed in the next season though). Other than that, the best thing I can say about it is that Ufotable did a masterful job of maintaining a strong, underlying tonal darkness throughout the series and doing their best to immerse the viewers in Kimetsu's world. The soundtrack and art are phenomenal, and the themes are conveyed rather well, especially in the second half of the series. It's a good example of a taking the source material and improvising on it. One more thing, I didn't really like the first 5 episodes and the prologue wasn't handled all that well, but once the ball gets rolling, it gets a lot better ^^ Hope you enjoy it!

I'm currently enjoying Aria and LOGH the most. I'm kind of sad to be so close to Aria's end, I feel like I'm losing a companion because I've been watching one episode right before sleep every night and I've grown attached to it :')
