Kidou Senshi Gundam: Suisei no Majo Season 2

After surviving a brutal terrorist attack on Plant Quetta, Suletta Mercury returns to dueling at the Asticassia School of Technology, while Miorine Rembran sits at her injured father's side, waiting to see if he will recover. As the residents of Earth House are preoccupied with their respective troubles, two members of Dawn of Fold—the perpetrators of the attack—secretly infiltrate the school, putting Suletta and her friends at risk.

At the same time, Prospera, Suletta's mother, approaches Miorine to propose the continuation of "Quiet Zero"—a project headed by Miorine's father that can allegedly end all war. Prospera seems to be another political figure with hidden, opposing motives, and whether she truly has Suletta's well-being at heart remains to be seen.

[Regress of writing quality compared to the Season 1 where a lot of the plot is gone, ignored, or jumped across, and is all the worse because of the complexity it set in the first place. Regardless, still very much a decent watch that finishes the story nicely and beautifully. 7/10]

It is disappointing that it can not continue its ambition in writing which seems as if it was promised as we've seen in Season 1, where all the characters were full of personalities, motivations, inspirations, souls; yet in Season 2 a lot of characters lost their character, a lot of actions were without clear aspirations, ... and a lot of the plot felt forced or rushed. There were also a lot of unnecessary superficial scenes, as if they're there just to give some random action or friendship touch to the story, with very questionable resolutions. Nevertheless, scenes that are profound, delicate, and meaningful still exists, here and there, which is all the more precious because of these other less precious scenes.

Luckily, these precious scenes include the ending scene. In a lot of ways happy, yet still realistic, yet full of inspirations and life, so it is definitely worthy to be watched until the end.

The music, sfx, and vfx is still high quality as expected, with lots of visual treats especially towards the ending. Very beautiful scenes, as beautiful as the moment it is on.

Whether it was right or wrong, what I've done cannot be taken back. Even if there's nothing to gain, I have to move forward. -?

Mixed Feelings

witch from mercury season 2 is both a lot a fun, with points surpassing season 1. but it also has a couple issues in my opinion, meaning i think it averages around the same as season 1.

the characters are still very engaging to keep up with. the plot season 2 helps further show hoe much these characters have grown since episode 1 and before. there wasn't a character i disliked in season 1 (from a writing standpoint), but season 2 made these characters feel more real than ever.

the action scenes are generally either on par or better than the action from season 1. putting so ... much on the line and putting these characters through troubles can help show new sides to both them and the people surrounding them. gundams feel powerful. this is my first gundam show, but the strain characters get put under just to pilot a gundam show how much power is in those mobile suits.

the universe feels more fleshed out as the plot continues. with unexplained mysteries being resolved just in time to try and keep the viewer knowledgeable, while having them question even more. one explanation in particular made me feel the exact same as the character hearing it. that is a testament to the highs of this shows writing.

however, the writing isn't perfect. things feel to worsen the closer to the end. the last 2 episodes specifically have me confused on certain aspects. the motives make sense, but some logic just doesn't click with me. especially the way conflict is dealt with at the end (trying to tip toe around what specifically). it makes me feel like I'm supposed to guess the intention of the writers, and come up with a cohesive explanation for them.

overall, witch from mercury was a great show, with season 2 expanding on aspects more than i expected. but by doing so and leaving other aspects more neglected, i cant help but wish some things were handled better. i'd say its still a fun watch, especially if you enjoyed season 1!

I was actually surprised with how disappointed I was with this particular anime. Gundam is a series that is one of my al-time favorites, even though I am a recent fan. I have been watching just about everything Gundam related I could, so naturally, this one was on the list. I enjoyed the first season, but that's because I enjoy Gundam in general, and I buckled myself in for the ride of season 2. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy that ride. I don't think this anime is bad, but it totally forgets to try to be good.

The plot of this anime went completely over my ... head. Any time something major happens, I don't feel anything. Often, I don't know who the bad guys or good guys are. I experienced the same thing in Iron-Blooded Orphans, but eventually, you know who you want to win, and you are 100% invested at a certain point. After two seasons, I have no idea what's going on with this anime. Somehow, Miorine and Suletta ending up together and taking care of Suletta's mom is the good ending? After both characters used and manipulated Suletta? I seriously feel like I missed a lot, and maybe I will watch this again in the distant future to try to gain a better understanding, but upon my first watch, I think the plot here felt very rushed, all the heavy moments felt watered down by the fact that so much happens in this anime and I could never gain my bearings; I could never tell who I should be upset about losing or dying. You can kind of tell Suletta and Miorine are the main ones you should be focusing on, but their relationship just makes no sense to me.

Yeah, this one upset me. I really wanted to enjoy this anime, but this one felt like it was trying to rely on its aesthetic, similar to Darling in the FranXX.
