Synopsis

During their decade-long quest to defeat the Demon King, the members of the hero's party—Himmel himself, the priest Heiter, the dwarf warrior Eisen, and the elven mage Frieren—forge bonds through adventures and battles, creating unforgettable precious memories for most of them.

However, the time that Frieren spends with her comrades is equivalent to merely a fraction of her life, which has lasted over a thousand years. When the party disbands after their victory, Frieren casually returns to her "usual" routine of collecting spells across the continent. Due to her different sense of time, she seemingly holds no strong feelings toward the experiences she went through.

As the years pass, Frieren gradually realizes how her days in the hero's party truly impacted her. Witnessing the deaths of two of her former companions, Frieren begins to regret having taken their presence for granted; she vows to better understand humans and create real personal connections. Although the story of that once memorable journey has long ended, a new tale is about to begin.

A warm hug of an anime - Frieren was such a pleasant surprise, standing out amongst the endless waves of fantasy that drops every season. Frieren is all about the real and quiet moments and watching all 28 episodes felt like comfort food for me.

One of the best new entries to anime that I've seen in YEARS.

Great pacing, great characters, great animation (Madhouse crushed it), great soundtrack and just a great experience overall.

Do yourselves a favourite and check this one out, it's special.

Also, for anyone curious, I also host a podcast we were do a deep dive on the first episode of an anime, ...

Mixed Feelings
Cute girls + isekai-esque fantasy setting. Heck, Frieren could take place in the same world as Mushoku Tensei, that's how similar they look.
As with all anime fantasies these days the main inhabitants of such worlds are same-faced lolis whose only distinguishing features are the body parts they are sexualized by, ie Fern has her big breasts, Übel has her armpits and Frieren has her... feet? I was baffled when I found out how much fans get off the feet animation of Frieren, but maybe this explains why the anime spent so much resources on animating them with such detail. The first thing you learn in ...

Why is Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is so highly recognised?

“In this review we will examine it under a magnifying glass, in the task of learning and uncover the mystery behind its remarkable success and to settle all query.”

So don’t judge by a closed book just yet, let’s turn a leaf of what now is an ideal fantasy into actual reality.

Usually, I don’t judge this seriously, although Frieren looks casual, it is far away from being usual.

The methaporic themes and symbolism’s. The significance of existence. Is an important part of Frieren’s story and one major aspect behind its enchanting appeal.

Why is it called ...
