Synopsis

Delinquent Juu Juuzawa is a lone wolf who does not see much use in befriending people. So when a girl named Ame Ochibana claims they are linked together from their previous lives, he is highly skeptical and doesn't want anything to do with her. Even stranger is that her fondest wish is to be his servant. Thinking that Ame must be delusional, he tries to distance himself from her. But when a classmate is murdered, Juu instead decides to keep her close, believing the strange girl to be the culprit. However, her intelligence and skill begin to prove invaluable as the two begin working together to solve the murder.

Denpa-teki na Kanojo weaves together a story of love, loss, and devotion, showing that allies can be found in the most unlikely of places.

Let me start off by first saying this OVA should've been a full series, Watching this anime made me realize why I first started watching anime in the first place. Maybe it's just me but the ever repeating cycle of School based animes with boring leads and stereotypical archetype females became quite dull; that being said Denpa Teki na Kanojo is a breath of fresh air that left me hungering for more.

In my eyes their are several reasons why i will watch an anime through and through -A. Well written story with no plot holes, B. Great Cast of characters that you really read more

The first thing that should strike you is the unusual title: Denpa teki na Kanojo. It can be translated as “Electromagnetic Girlfriend”, but that can be a little misleading. This is not another sci-fi show like Cyborg She where a guy hooks up with a cyborg girlfriend. While the term “Denpa” means electric waves, it is also an urban slang used to describe people who look like they have a screw loose in their head. The title can be better explained as "Psychotic Girlfriend". Now that’s more appropriate for a psychological thriller.

Story – 7
As the title suggests, the story is about crazy girls. The protagonist, read more

This is NOT Higurashi. It wishes it was Higurashi and tries very hard, but fails.

The plot is so convoluted. *SPOILER* The main idea is there are a bunch of crazy girls (you meet more of them as the show goes on) who believe that one can obtain happiness by destroying the happiness of others, which everybody learns in pre-school is absolutely not true and usually has the opposite effect. *END OF SPOILER*

However, they do manage do pack a lot into two 42 minute episodes and there is always something going on.

The main character is a retarded brute. The female lead has some irrational everlasting bond read more

Throw some nice ambient, some great op/ed themes, very nice art, an interesting and somewhat original story, mix them together...
It usually doesn't always end up well. Because integrity is needed.

Well, this anime, two episodes OVA, has very nice sounds and ambiance music, touching ed themes, an art that is catchy (even by today's standards) and a story that is very, very intriguing.

Firstly, it is not a shounen where high school kids go for their so-called romance. It is not an 'bleeding-edge' science-fiction either. It is something that can, though unlikely, happen in daily life. This makes it better, because characters are not so deep with read more
