Story : Long time ago Leo fight multiple demon waves to defend and destroy demon once for all. After all the battles he fought, he thinks to defeat Demon Lord Echidna once and for all. Instead he got very ill manner by all human he was defend before. King banish him, citizen reject him even his home forget him. So he decide to join demon army, well you know the situation, thats right, they are crumble after last decisive war against Leo.

Actual Story Review : Story kinda doesnt make sense, people hate ... you because you kill bad guy? and they are scare u become demon lord? wtf bro, who the hell person who tell you act like this?. Demon lord here somehow good person (yea demon i know they should evil but anime nowadays portrait its good being for plot reason) The story itself is boring imo, also so far till 3rd episode, i still didnt find any adventure. Character : So far i just can review 3 character so far in this anime, Leo, Steina and Lili. Leo himself basically try to employ in demon army but echidna reject him, so no much talk about him, characteristic basically "generic good mc" humble, not arrogant, like helping people etc. Steina is basically tsundere, succubus who dont like seduce with elf appearance. Lili basically cheerful every single time

Enjoyment : Nah its boring, feel like watch slice of life

Overall : I give it 7/10 Didnt meet my expectation, i really hope they fight human or revenge or something like treasure hunt maybe, this anime also lacking of antagonist (so far 3rd episode, i still dont know who is antagonist till 3rd episode)

I like to give almost all seasonal animes a chance, but funny enough I immediately dropped this when I first attempted to watch this show. I am so over this recently overused theme of government simulator. I was in no mood to once again learn about supply chain management, so I initially dropped this show because of the beginning plot and meh animation. But I saw people online recommending it, so I gave it another go and I’m glad I did. This show will not wow you by any means, but the characters are likeable and the plot twists are actually well constructed. There’s definitely ... much better anime out there, but this is far from garbage.

I Only watched because I saw an AMV of episode 10 :/ (Nice bait)

A little cliche and predictable at times. I feel like I've seen this type of show before... I'm actually surprised I finished it, but then again it took over a month. If you're new to this type of genre you actually might enjoy this show. Unfortunately for me, I'm in Leo's shoes, despite being a sucker for the fantasy genre, this show was very underwhelming.

I actually thought this was an isekai, they really had me with them flashbacks 6/10.

Stgis was hard, but Steina was best girl ;)

Watching this felt like a silent fart during breezy day. Every now and then you get a hint of some event happening only for it be whisked away. Whole twelve episodes felt like something was coming and nothing came. It was just empty. Characters were also this way. Every one of them has a hint of interesting character building and then it's never explored.

It's not offensively bad, like some of the offering this season, but it's also not so good to warrant repeated watching. It was there and for the most part competent. Everything about it was forgettable, including sound design, music, characters, voice acting, ... art, everything.

The story starts with hero wanting to join the Demons for revenge against the human. Though there's no hint of that in the story.

The concept gets pretty good though and there are moments the story shines. But character's other than hero are simple. It tries to be comedy but it isn't even funny. The story is sometimes good sometimes mid. But i think Slice of Life would have been a great focus for this story.(If they did that)
Overall Good Anime 7/10

May improvement could be made. But the show doesn't give you any empty feelings it feels comfortable.

We gotten so use to a lower quality of writing, that we subconsciously lower our standards. If you ever worked in sewers or been to the farmlands in india you will instantly smell the difference, yet the locals seem to not be as phased.

We become desensitized.


A hero so strong that he can defeat every enemy without effort. Standard overpowered protagonist cliche setting. The narrative being told is one that has been repeated 1000 times over. Our characters embody stereotypical personalities in the standard formula.

The saving grace of the series is the character interaction. His methods for communicating with the ... general and portraying their shortcomings was quite enjoyable. The relationship between the generals and the protagonist is what allows them to break through the deception in the final episodes.

The story could have benefited from more tension. There was nothing at stake, nor was this a comical series. There is no hidden message or themes being explored. Stories are art. They are communication, and they provide the opportunity to be expressive, political, motivational, or to evoke passion. This series is empty.

We can do better than this. It starts with an interesting and clever premise. I liked the character interactions. Each character is given depth to their motives, personality and shortcomings. Also the twist is nice but it makes the whole story predictable. What I disliked? Nothing really. My dissatisfaction comes from that being it. What i praised above, is all there is to praise. I've seen better story, art, sound, characters, and enjoyed other shows more this season than this. Skeleton Knight in Another World, while another OP isekai, explores the world and leaves the door open for greater challenges. I'm Quitting Heroing had the ... five pep talk episodes, then had nowhere to go except it's inevitable end. This show has inferior art to everything else that came out this season. None of the music or voice acting stood out. That depth I spoke of earlier was for each character's pep talk episode. Outside of that they are one dimensional with bland generic designs. I do want to note I liked Mernes, Echidna & Shutina, bonus points for them. My enjoyment was hampered by a sadly predictable story and a loudmouthed crying loli, and there's only two things in anime I hate more than an annoying loli.
In summary, If God-Eater was a cheeseburger with no condiments, this show is the fish sandwich.

Overall, I thought it was a great watch; I'm not especially particular or critical about anime.I watch because it is my way of enjoying things as they are.

Story
It was enjoyable right from the beginning. After reading the first section of the sypnosis, I assumed the Hero would join the Demon Army and engage in actual combat with humanity, but this does not appear to be the case. Since it is a fairly light show overall with a hint of seriousness at the end, you could definitely watch it in one sitting.

I thought it was an intriguing approach to an OP protagonist. The ... show ended on a lighthearted note, despite taking an odd turn near the end.

Animation
It's what you would anticipate from a typical, non-headliner modern anime. The fight scenes weren't particularly good, but they weren't terrible either.

Sound and Music
I only listened to the OP and ED songs once while watching this show, and the sound quality is rather generic in terms of music.

I gave it an 8 overall, which doesn't seem to add up, but I evaluate shows according to how much I enjoyed them and whether they influenced my desire to watch more, which is how I rated this one.

My personal opinion of the show: An enjoyable show, certainly a cut above normal OP MC shows. What one may wonder however is why all of my ratings for it stand at roughly the 8 mark and yet I've rated it a 6. The reason for this is this anime is a prime example of a last episode disaster.

Without trying to spoil it, overall it's a relatively unique story all things considered and then a few episodes before the end there is an interesting twist but then for some reason, they twist it again and it spirals down into one of the most cheesy ... and cliché possible story endings to what could've been great even before the initial twist.

Ah, the tale of a hero seeking purpose beyond heroics—an intriguing premise for an aspiring narrative. Initially, it seemed to promise a delightful adventure but swiftly transitioned into what felt akin to an extensive filler episode. It left me yearning for depth.

The story, while somewhat engaging, lacked the transformative depth I often seek. It maintained a unique thread throughout, though a bit too dramatically at times. A 7/10 for the effort.

Artistically, it adheres to cliches yet isn't too harsh on the senses. A middling 6/10.

Sound fares similarly, unremarkable but not displeasing, resting at a standard 6/10.

Characters, disappointingly, seemed etched from the most cliched molds, offering ... no semblance of originality. The protagonist's development was a muddled affair.

My enjoyment hovered at a mere 6/10—no yearning to reclaim my time, yet no inclination for a potential second season. In fact, I might steer clear of it.

Overall, a modest 5. It's watchable when nothing else beckons, but little more.

tl;dr: An anime that’s overall pretty rough, but has a single unexpected core aspect that’s pretty amazing.

This anime is one that starts as one thing, but ends as something completely different. The first half or so of the anime is centered around the hero, Leo Demonheart wanting to join the Demon Queen, Echidna’s, army. The demons were going through a tough time and could certainly use the help. However, Leo’s the one that put them in such dire straights in the first place so Echidna rejects him. However, he’s still adamant about joining so he ends up working out a deal with the generals that ... work under her. From there, he basically goes around helping out each of the generals learn some sort of management technique to help them better serve as leaders within the Demon Army. These range from the importance of delegating tasks to how to hold an effective interview. As such, this half of the anime is basically an educational show about best business practices set in a medieval fantasy like setting. It’s not all that well written though. None of the characters are all that interesting, and overall it just felt kind of dull. The lessons don’t feel all that valuable either from the point of view of a viewer.

The second part transitions to something much more complex and also somewhat dark. It’s hard to explain without going into spoilers territory, but it’s heavily centered around the existential crisis of an immortal living weapon. And it goes hard on that. It goes in detail into his mindset and how it changed over time and what led to that change. It does a really effective job of conveying his emotions, the pain and loneliness he was feeling, and why that led him to take the actions he was taking. Things get really intense and it’s enough to really pull you in and get you invested in where the story is going to go. It was pretty impressive.

With that said, there were also a lot of issues. The second part really doesn’t flow well off the first part. It feels pretty tonally and thematically inconsistent. This part would work a lot better if the viewer had more investment in the character’s outside of the protagonist, but ultimately the only character that felt interesting and worth getting invested in was the protagonist and the rest of the cast still feels pretty flat and boring. Also, the way everything ended up getting resolved felt too easy, especially after all the build up. It felt somewhat like a return to how things were in the first part of the anime. It was pretty underwhelming. Thus even though I was fine with the broader elements of the ending, I can’t say I was totally satisfied with it. I’m also very unsure about whether I want to continue it, because if it’s more like the first part I’ll pass, but I would definitely be more interested in more like the second part.

The art and animation can certainly be rough at times but overall were decent enough. The character designs I thought were overall pretty weak though. The OP was great in terms of the song and visuals, and fit incredibly well. The EDs were also really interesting and reflected the change in the show really well. The soundtrack was also pretty good and fit well, especially during the more intense parts.

Yuusha, Yamemasu ("I'm Quitting Heroing") is coherent movie that is unfortunately spread across five episodes (episode 8 onward) with seven(!) episodes of what would otherwise be bonus / OVA content tacked onto the beginning. The first seven episodes are increasingly mundane isekai-adjacent managerial fantasy that is pretty formulaic, with our MC Leo helping out the Demon generals one-by-one in an... office internship capacity. There's character and relationship building here along with some funny moments, but it moves terribly slowly. So much of this anime is just... talking... and talking... and talking... and so much of the first half of I'm Quitting Heroing could be condensed ... if they just show-don't-tell'd for once. For a fantasy anime, a lot of this expositional content would probably have been better used for worldbuilding rather than trying to keep with the 'cool sarcastic and powerful MC helps out in a new environment' schtick. No offense to Lili, but there is an entire episode dedicated to improving logistics. Logistics!

Maybe the first half could work better if the entire season was like this, but the switchover to a more serious character study after episode 8 really exposes the seeming irrelevance of the first half. At that point, I'm Quitting Heroing quickly jumps to a different kind of show -- and a much better one -- altogether. It both breathes life into the show and highlights how dawdling everything before it was. Unfortunately the problem the anime has with continuously staying on dialogue/flashbacks continues, but at least it's part of a coherent story rather than a plain collage. MC Leo's situation feels dystopian and we finally get a glimpse of how this is actually affecting the character rather than the jarringly discordant light comedy vibe of the season's first half. The ending of this series is a bit disappointing and predictable after the second half of the season comes into focus, but at least makes sense contextually.

Tldr: endings are paramount and this one didnt end where it should have.

Story 5: it does alot of intresting things however it tries to balance it with what felt like a more slice of life anime and felt flat because of it is found my self towards tbe end wanting more bs of the casts shenanigans but instead suddenly the plot thickens and its just ok

Characters 6: pretty standard but the protagonist is entertaining

Sound animation 7 : no real problems but nothing great

Enjoyment 9 : i found the whole work place comdy very entertaining and the way they combined it with the setting was ... steller id love to see more of that.

The protagonist should have either died or have the ending arc ripped out yes it adds nuonce and a cool backstory but they could have made it a more slow burn with it being the climax and ending of the series not an arc they could have also have had it be a group effort to figgure out his curse instead they make a big deal out of it to just say " have you tried to tell the voice shut up" then it works!!!!!????? Yeah Idk it was a solid 8 then that knda killed it is would still recommend for the work place comdy though.

This is a light-hearten fantasy anime about a hero (3000yr old OP MC) that says he wants to quit heroing, since mankind was to scared of his power.
He joins the demon army against humanity and decides to help them rebuild the same army he beated hard - that lead to ppl being afraid of him thus getting exiled.
The first round of episodes, he teaches some things your bosses and colleagues at work could learn too. LOL
It becomes evident the journey is indeed about the MC finding himself, through helping out others - which aren't that demonic at all.
Overall I enjoyed watching it even though there ... is nothing outstanding about it - apart from the original voice acting and music, which is well done and the design of the main characters overall is good enough.
It's worth watch if you like to binge-watch light hearted fantasy.

It starts out like your generic edgy fantasy where the protagonist is way too strong and everybody wants to bang the protagonist.
But I think that people are too hung up over this point.

I'd argue this story is more about a goliath with depression.
...like One Punch Man, but way worse.

It was a fun journey but the story writing was so inconsistent. It felt like it kept jumping all over the place...

We started with generic fantasy? And then it jumped to sci-fi? And then it got all psychological???

... Especially at the last few episodes... it was like

I mean, plot twists are definitely FUN, but I think this is a bit much. It also ended up leaving behind a bunch of convenient explanations and plot holes as a result.

I also think too little time was given in fleshing out Echidna. She is made out to be an outlier with a heart of gold, but it is too difficult to care about her when the intentions for her motivations are not very clear.

Yuusha, Yamemasu invoked a lot of mixed feelings, primarily due to the title called I'm Quitting Heroing. In my head, I assumed it would be a terrible show, and for the most part, I was right. While the contradictory characters and recycled isekai elements take the blame for that, at the same time, the backstories and narrative are much appreciated, especially the hero himself as it made him a lot more complex and exciting to follow through.

The hero, Leo Demonhart apparently got tired of doing his hero job, so what does he do? He waltzed into the hornet's nest, A.K.A The Demon Lord's castle and ... said 'I want to join the Demon Army.' without any sense of regret. While he initially got rejected, the so-called Elite Four (what is this now, Pokemon?) who he have beaten easily before, secretly agreed to let him join the Demon Army without the Demon Queen (so now it's a she instead.)

So what are these Elite Four you say? It's comprised of an emo kid who specialises in assassinations and scouting (Dark/Ghost), a big booba wizard who can't do anything the moment she gets silenced (Psychic), a wereloli who won't stop obsessing over the hero's dick (Normal/Dark) and a musclehead with dragon scales (Fighting/Dragon). I just emphasised their whole character personality, so you're welcome, this is what they did throughout the series.

Then you come up to the champ- oh sorry the Demon Queen whose name is Echidna and got folded after her main crystal got crashed and retreated with utter shame, of course, she would be furious if the winner came back, it's almost as if he wanted to rub salt into her wound.

I had a lot of difficulty focusing on the series since there were plenty of moments that played the same tropes we've seen for what? The 100th time now? The thing about Yuusha, Yamemasu is that it's able to rope me in back to the story after screwing up the character elements. The solution? Make the main character's backstory dark but the twist is that it actually makes goddamn sense. It's nice to see a backstory written with care other than the usual 'I have lived for thousands of years, it has been my duty to conserve world peace.' and then proceeds to spout the same bullshit over and over again like they think we're retarded. But this guy's backstory? It's actually decent. Though it's easy to point fingers at 'Wait a minute if there were already machines, then why aren't there any more machines going advanced or why isn't there already time travel if they can make heroes who can grow indefinitely and nigh-immortal?' The backstory still has a lot of flaws in terms of logic, but considering the narrative, it did really well.

Long story short, it's an on-and-off series. About the art, it's okay. While the characters look stiff and out of place with their background, they look considerably appealing in the eyes. The sound aspect is not memorable, but it fits at best. Regarding the show as a whole, it's a tough one to recommend but anyone who's willing to sit through the tropes and logical bullshit the show managed to break, I mean it's fine. It's not a good story, but the main character is good at best.
