Shijou Saikyou no Daimaou, Murabito A ni Tensei suru

Having reached the pinnacle of human potential, Varvatos was so powerful that the rest of humankind began calling him the Demon Lord, both fearing and respecting his overwhelming influence. As a result, he felt alienated from his fellow humans, leading him to desire true companionship—an equal he could call a friend.

Hoping his fate will change in his next life, Varvatos decides to start anew and reincarnates three thousand years later as Ard Meteor, the son of a seemingly ordinary couple in a rural town. Unfortunately, he realizes that even after weakening himself, his strength still overshadows everyone in this era. Moreover, his lack of social skills bars him from achieving his goal of making friends. I came across several reviews of this anime claiming that it contradicts itself, but that’s simply not true. I’d like to clear up the misunderstanding some viewers had regarding the plot. This review may contain spoilers, and I’ll also discuss Ard Meteor's goal and thoughts throughout the anime, as these seem to be the main points of confusion for many.

Many people wrote in their reviews that Ard's goal contradicts itself. The misconception seems to be that his goal was simply to live a low-profile life, free from reputation, privileges, prestige, and fame. However, his main goal wasn’t to turn his back on his past. What ... he truly wanted was something he had never experienced, something that everyone around him had: a true friend. The fame and status he accumulated over the years made it difficult for him to make genuine connections. His reincarnation was the key to shedding these burdens, allowing him to pursue friendships without these labels getting in the way.

There’s another detail people might have missed, and it’s a key part of the anime that could easily cause confusion. It’s stated multiple times throughout the series: after Ard finally makes friends, he discovers the true value of friendship. He becomes willing to expose his true identity if it means protecting those friends, which he comes to view as his most valuable treasure.

These two points can be confusing for some viewers. As I’ve seen in various reviews, Ard’s main goal was misunderstood. People focused on his desire for a low-profile life, but missed the deeper goal of making friends. After that, the second part—him defending his friends—may seem contradictory to the idea of living a low-profile life.

Personally, I don’t understand how people missed these details. Some of the reviewers who got confused didn’t even finish all 12 episodes, yet they’ve watched over 5000 episodes of anime and still felt confident enough to write a review. I believe if they had just invested a little more effort into paying attention to the anime’s themes, they wouldn’t have felt so dissatisfied and quick to drop it.

I really enjoyed this anime.

Mixed Feelings

Informative

Writing a review just to say this anime should be titled: "Powerful Ruler Reincarnates to Make Friends".
The current title is the most misled I've ever felt by an anime title. The only time I've felt clickbaited.

"The Greatest Demon Lord"
He's the only demon lord so that means he's also the weakest. Also it's just a title. This world actually has demons but he's not a demon.

"Typical Nobody"
Yeah, no. That's only what he thought and tries to be. It's quickly revealed to not be the case.

If you're watching based off of the title, like I'd assume most people would, you should reconsider. If you like the appropriate ... title I started this review with, then great! You might enjoy the beginning of this anime.

Just another tryhard wannabe anos voldigoat
Ill try to not waste anybody's time and tell you straight up why you shouldnt watch this

He looks like kiritio clone
Is scared of girls
Takes 2 episodes to gather harem despite being scared of girls
His only real adversary is himself and yep they decided to roll with that
Every single woman in this anime is oversexualized for no reason
He trains his harem and it tirns out they never use said training in the later episodes anyway :3 and act as damsel in distress

... Any character which isnt ard or ard clone is one shot kill
Villian or supposed mastermind acts like a dumbass and gets instakilled
The main character has zero personality yet we supposed to relate to him because he is guilt ridden xD

Music is really really bad , op just blasts your eardrums off
Animation is bad as well no effort is put in any fight scene

Dont waste your time on this , just like I didn't bother writing a proper review this show doesn't even deserve that much.
