Anime with male leads only.

I usually prefer characters who aren't ultimate cucks around women, so some anime featuring cuck MC's are present in the list, but the cuck level is low/bearable enough or the rest of the anime is entertaining enough to sit through MC's cucky shenanigans (cuckanigans?).. viewer discretion is advised.

PS: Only first season will be listed. If anime has more seasons, watch or skip based on experience. Not sure why other stacks list all seasons of same anime in a list.

Talk about brutal fights.

If you're in the market for a pissed of MC beating the everloving shit out of bad guys, this anime has you covered.

Do note, there are many anime/movies/games which do violence. Only some do it right. This show does it right, like Berserk did.

Despite the average animation/art/visuals, this anime is surprisingly fun.

MC not being a boring cuck helped. The season ending also opened the next season (if there is one) to bigger adventure, which I always like in such stories.

Average animation, average story, average characters, average action.

This anime is a master of average.

Watch it when you have nothing else to watch. Typical "demon lord" nonsense that you've seen a thousand other times, it isn't going to blow your mind.

Suspend your disbelief and just enjoy this anime.

Fun characters, good action, it isn't meant to be taken seriously at all, and that's fine.
Shijou Saikyou no Daimaou, Murabito A ni Tensei suru
TV, 2022, 12 eps Me:- Author:5
This is a show that didn't need three arcs in a 12 episode season, but they did anyway, and only the last arc is any interesting. Average isekai overall with MC definitely not being a "typical nobody" (seriously, premise is a lie from the start of the show).
Koutetsujou no Kabaneri

I would've preferred 24 episode season instead of 12 to see more development of MC and more station adventures, but it's what it is. Don't forget to watch the third movie (The Battle of Unato) to end the series.

Not really very original in its ideas or premise, and not even a harem anime but weirdly trying to be one at the same time..?

At-least it isn't an annoying anime while being generic, so I don't mind recommending it.

One of the very few anime Japan has ever produced, where food is the central theme. Yes, very rare.

Do note, a lot of information on food is sketchy, like the origin of most dishes seems to be made up and bought around to, as usual, crediting Japan with the dish or even seasonings. So if you can ignore all that nonsense, you'll enjoy it.

Only anime from Netflix I haven't found to be utter and total shite. Fun characters and cooking.

Though entertaining, kinda feels like the whole thing just takes place in a vacuum with boy-bands fighting each other for no real reason whatsoever. Whole thing just feels like a bunch of grown-ups who never grew out of the "gang" phase like most of us did in RL in teen years. *shrugs*

Fun characters, no annoying students pretending to be adults, just chill cooking with familiars. Probably one of the few cooking anime that gets the vibe right without boring you to death.

Get this.

It's a show about.. an OP farmer.

*gasp*

It's average. Watch if you have nothing else to watch.
Sasaki to Pii-chan
TV, 2024, 12 eps Me:- Author:5
Interesting premise, average isekai.

Also, can I just say how fake the "aww so cute" moments of Sasaki feel like with Peeps? They feel forced and fake.

Characters other than MC and Peeps might as well not exist. World itself is trying to do too much while somehow still having so little. It's impressive how generic it all feels.

The worst are the "psychics" and how they hilarious fight using their.. guns.. not any psychic abilities. Dumbest thing I've ever seen.

Anyway, watch it to see how a good premise is squandered.
Vampire Hunter D
Movie, 1985, 1 ep Me:- Author:5
Pretty average.

Art is fine, but the audio is garbage (seriously, music just starts and abruptly cuts ending the scenes).

The biggest problem isn't audio though, it's the plot and the characters. This movie plays like we're supposed to know the main lead, but there isn't much to know. It has a generic "save the princess" plot and the awful action scenes eventually lead to an unexciting end.

Overall, watch it if you're dying to see something with vampires.
Vampire Hunter D (2000)
Movie, 2000, 1 ep Me:- Author:8
I don't like listing same series twice in my stacks but making an exception to this.

Saw Vampire Hunter D (1985) and then Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust (2000) back to back and while I gave the prequel 5/10, the sequel is 8/10 material with beautiful visuals, good action and varied characters that keep you invested till the end.

Only thing still weird is how this whole "Vampire Hunter D" saga feels like it was planned to be a bigger series, even episodic, but it didn't do well enough to be one. A shame. I would've liked to see episodic series based on the Bloodlust world.
Hoshiai no Sora
TV, 2019, 12 eps Me:- Author:5
I have mixed feelings about this show. The focus on tennis is fun and what makes this anime worth watching, but the fact that every other character in the story has some family trauma is unrealistic and takes you out of the show as well.

What are the odds that out of 10 friends 9 of them have some crazy (and I mean abuse levels through the roof) family/life issues going on?

Doesn't look like this will ever get a season 2 as well and it ends on a (terrible) cliffhanger, so don't get your hopes up.
Vanitas no Karte
TV, 2021, 12 eps Me:- Author:8
Good visuals, story and characters.

Don't have much more to say. We don't get many "vampire" focused media which is actually good, so go ahead and watch this.

Mixed feelings on this one.

I liked the interaction of MC with side characters more than the FMC, but that seems to be a common theme in anime where the female love interest is the most boring one.

That said, the MC's interaction with side characters push the anime into more of a "slice of life" genre that makes it more entertaining then just generic rom-com interactions with the FMC.

In typical Japanese fashion, you have kids acting like grown-ups, waxing poetic about life and emotions, while you're sitting there wondering "HOLY SHIT these kids in the first world have it tougher than those coal miners struggling to feed their families while choking on poison."

But anyway, turn off your brain, suspend your disbelief and enjoy this anime. None of this shit is based on reality anyway, that's why we enjoy watching all of.. this.

Shinka no Mi: Shiranai Uchi ni Kachigumi Jinsei

Like I said in my review for this anime, it's obvious that the director and writer are having fun with a really stupid premise, and it shows.

This anime came out of nowhere and I enjoyed how stupid it was.

Well, it was fun till season 1. Season two is trash, as you can tell they are trying way too hard to be funny and managed to ruin it by making it as unfunny as possible. Maybe there will be season 3 and it won't suck.
