A show has, absolutely has, to catch the viewer's attention and sustain it. Who cares? What's at stake? Why should I be interested in these characters' lives? An anime should answer all that in the beginning episodes.

A lot of times, in Western culture, we dismiss the value of emotions. We don't like being emotionally persuaded. We like to think we only respond to logical reasoning. We're a society that values the scientific mindset, which yields many positive results, but one negative result of this is that we no longer seem to judge art by how it makes us feel or study how it impacts our read more

There haven't been many new action-packed sports anime in recent years that fit my specific criteria of focusing equal amounts on the actual sport and on character growth. Although it's a bit early to tell, I think Burning Kabaddi could help fill that void. Kabaddi is a sport that I would summarize as a combination of wrestling, tag, and capture the flag. As someone who had no idea that this sport existed, I was intrigued by the premise of this show.

However, the show's downfall resides in its lackluster animation, especially when we get still read more

This review contains spoilers from first 3 episodes:

Disclaimer, I have read about 7 volumes of the manga. I am personally a big fan of how much of a CHAD Hajime sensei is. And if I may, it's a really great shonen-like sport story. And boy did he take a big L on this one. Poor guy can't catch a break.

First the positives:
+ Hajime sensei's quippy comic relief was by far the best part of the second episode.
+ The ED is really good, pretty hype and suits the series.
+ Character designs are pretty similar to that of the manga. That's a positive right?? (sorry, i read more
