Yukiya, who is "probably" 14 years old, spends his time DJ-ing alone. Due to his father's influence, he's listened to house music since he was young, and he uploads videos online. He wants to convey something to someone. He wants to be recognized, and become important. But getting hurt is scary. One day, while trying to get more views, he does something that can't be undone. And he sees a live broadcast from "that world." Yukiya believes he can't do anything alone, but that he could accomplish something if he were doing it together with someone else.
Hand Shakers is back and majority of the 3 people who liked the original season all seem to be hyped. As for me, this show doesn't annoy me and I have mainly used it as a sleep medicine because it's pretty chill.
GoHands has surpassed itself with this level of art and animation. As far as I am concerned, their unique style is fresh and pretty to look at. Art in its original meaning. The character design is awful as ever of course. The other side of the production, the sounds, are making the series quite soothing to watch if being honest. The score is
ridiculously relaxing, music is practically ever-present and even the DJ stuff is also tolerable. Overall the audiovisual presentation is rather soul-cleansing experience.
The story just kinda is there. Yukiya is DJ-ing his way to fame and also something about granting a wish because the main storyline is like fate/zero apparently. Holding hands with girls is also there and we meet other handshakers occasionally just so the slice of life stuff doesn't get too much ahead of the flying fishes. The dialogue is pretty stupid tho if taken seriously and could as well not exist because it's not like this series and its story needs to be explained. Pretty sure no one cares.
The way I see it is Hand Shakers and W'z both are like Mars of Destruction: popular meme to hate while none actually did anything that could be said to be the best or worst anything. It's just average.
Story - 7 - the storytelling has its own pace, feels rushed sometimes, the Tower of Babel myth shows us what has been divided can be united thro holding hands and empathy
Art - 9 - K-project makers get better and better
Sound - 8 - for whatever reason I thought W’z will be about a DJ contest, opening is ok, skipped ending, goon trax work noticable
Character - 6 - more development needed, the first love theme including holding hands, blushes and couples getting stronger reminds me of couples in Loveless
Enjoyment - 9 - how can I not enjoy blushing cute boys
Overall - 8 - all the
hysterical reactions to Handshakers and its sequel W’z seem irrational to me, sure nothing’s perfect and there’s always room for improvements, but that doesn’t mean something is wrong with the show, except for the slow pace and predictable development which can still fit your taste
Have you ever imagined living without ever having contact with other people?
W'z tells the story of humans who can enter the fantasy world by holding hands with each other, Yukiya is a student who can enter the world without a partner that ability is called "Hand Shaker". A slow storyline makes the story in this series not interesting much attention, coupled with the theme of music starting from the beginning of the storyline this series is not very neatly arranged even in my opinion not interchangeable.
I admit that in this series it is very superior in the graphics, drawing techniques / character designs, and good
visual effects that can cover up the shortcomings of this serial storyline, but I specialize in the character design section they take old techniques not like now but that is an important point and I admit that.Their voices don't have much bias or interesting things they have made the right decision in choosing the voice and the singer in their theme.
Of the many types of characters for some reason I don't like the main character of this one, usually those who have hidden powers they are usually leaning towards the cold and cool nature but this one doesn't even seem to understand him about his past things it makes me less interested in this one character.Of the many anime series that aired in this season I enjoyed everything they presented and I really appreciated the studio in adapting a project that originally contained writings or images to become an extraordinary film object.
