Seth is an aspiring sorcerer from the Pompo Hills area. Like all wizards, he is an "infected," one of the few living beings who survived the contact of the Nemesis—creatures fallen from the sky that contaminate and decimate all those they touch. Being immune to them, Seth wants to become a Hunter and fight the Nemesis. But more than that, Seth wants to engage in a quest that goes beyond the simple hunt for monsters. He wants to find the Radiant, their presumed cradle. Aided by a faction of fellow sorcerers, he travels the world in search of the Radiant, under the harsh scrutiny of the Inquisition.
An Anime series from a French Manga which made me watch it , as it piqued my interest for a refreshing change from the usual japanese manga adaptations.
The story revolves around a world which is affected by chaos and destruction caused by creatures called as Nemesis who fall from the sky originating from a legendary place of myth called "Radiant".
People who survive these creatures get infected and receive abilities and powers and are mostly referred to as sorcerers. These Sorcerers being the only people who can fight back against the nemesis are feared, shunned and persecuted by the rest of the humanity.
Young Hero Seth who is another survivor of Nemesis raised by his mother figure and master, a sorceress named Alma. Seth has a resolve and goal of eradicating all nemesis and bringing peace and resolve between sorcerers and Humanity with his allies, Melie and Doc.
The setting is of a historical and modern era with background and environment made for a world with all kinds of people, sorcerers, mysterious creatures mainly the nemesis and other kinds of magical elements which might remind you a bit of Harry Potter.
Art is really well made by Lerche studios, detail drawings of character, magic particles and other creatures, bright and vibrant colours with a good finish. quality stuff.
Being a French adaptation, i am really interested in this.
Story is still yet developing and it will give you the feeling of a general shonen anime like naruto, bleach, fairy tail etc. But it has a unique element to it as well which is good. Also lots of mysteries and plot is getting revealed in a really slow but good and interesting manner so please be a bit patient and do give it some time while watching the series.
so based on the story so far the anime is about men and woman who control chaos to fight chaos creatures
my main problem is the mc is bland and most of the normal human characters feel un-redeemable, they essentially treat people who control chaos as alpha stigma barres and that is where the problem starts, so they treat thier protectors like trash until its time for protecting and then there is still a chance they are going to be hurling insults while they are being protected, and the main character is meant to be ok with that, to be fair his goal boils down to
i will become the hokage and then everyone will love us and the acceptance of the abuse from the normal people is to the point where some of the villians are just wizards who are tired of being punching bags
the music feels quite generic too, it feels like you could insert it into most other shonen shows and it would fit ok
Out of the usual adaptations, Radiant surprised both the otakus and fans of the play and the author, who even mentioned that he never expected his work to be adapted for anime, because it is of non-Japanese origin, but French.
And well, the result was a total catastrophe, both toward and especially in script. As a regular manga player, I noticed absurd changes in the course of the plot, where whole episodes were created without any foundation to cover a surplus material and with a great potential to cause a deconstruction of the juvenile battle genre.
Mini Spoiler ...
In an episode occurs the encounter of
Yaga with Seth, where the future master of the MC does it of its own free will after hearing a conversation of Seth with its two colleagues. And in the next episode we see Seth seeking help to improve his sorcerer skills after meeting Yaga, after an arduous search for Artemis. This final event occurs in the manga, still with differences, but it was put like a flash back ignoring what had happened in the previous episode, in the anime.
Comparison with other juvenile battle works is inevitable, but in most of them, the script does not sin on simple things as continuity. And this whole comedy show is only from the writer's, for it is inevitably comical. We still have a lot to do with these adventures, but as a preview preview, the original is worth more just.
