Ansatsu Kyoushitsu

Tucked in the mountains near the elite Kunugigaoka Middle School lies a small derelict building that houses the delinquents and dropouts of Class 3-E. Looked down upon by their peers, the students in this class appear to have little hope in advancing their academic careers. That is, until the national government tasks them with eliminating the greatest threat to their planet: their new teacher.

Having already destroyed the moon, the octopus-like professor—dubbed "Koro-sensei"—has now threatened to destroy the Earth by March of the following year. In light of their mission, the students have found that killing him is easier said than done. Not only can Koro-sensei move at speeds of up to Mach 20, but he can also resist almost every earthly weapon. Ironically, he also proves to be one of the best teachers Class 3-E has ever had. Training the class to excel in both their studies as students and skills as assassins, Koro-sensei is confident that his students' ingenuity and indomitable will could return them to the main campus.

Through trial and error, Nagisa Shiota, as well as the other students of Class 3-E, must figure out Koro-sensei's weaknesses—and fast, for the very fate of the world depends upon it.

I watched it in april/2021 and until today I think this anime is CRIMINALLY underrated.

The narrative is so unique and the characters are just so captivating that it makes you want to dive even deeper into the series. About the characters, it might be a bit of a stretch to say this BUT with such a big cast (literally an entire class + teachers) I think that 85% of the characters are very interesting in some way, and honestly I'm holding myself back to not make this review a love letter to some characters lol... Obviously npt everyone will get similar amounts of screentime ... but that is natural!

Animation-wise it has a good character design and OK scenery and action, nothing too special but it is still very enjoyable to watch

Talking about a more personal point of view, this show really made me think for a long time about becoming a teacher and koro-sensei was the game-changer to it; seeing how he could make an ambient so prone to the personal growth of each student while also making them interested in the studies and good grades was just so cool to see. It reminded me alot of one of the most influential pedagogues of all time, the Brazilian Prof. Dr. Paulo Freire. And to be honest, this anime really gave me lots of perceptions about being a teacher and how it must feel being loved by his students, making me desire to teach others about things that they have difficulty/don't know. To be honest, if I ever become a teacher in my life, im pretty sure that this anime will have played a major role in it :)

P.S: Isogai, Maehara, Nagisa, Sugino, Chiba, Kanzaki and Koro-sensei are the goats of this anime <3

Mixed Feelings

+okay gimmick

+good main character (koro-sensei)

The main gimmick of "they are in highschool BUT..." is okay, but it gets overplayed as the series kind of drags on. Simple story, not very unique with horrible pacing and a mediocre season end. The art is just unremarkable, I will not remember any of these characters a week from now. The only one worth anything is Koro-sensei the alien dude. The dub's sound is just fine, again nothing really memorable but not offensive. There was little character growth, some of the characters bleed together. I wouldn't probably recommend this to anyone. I did not hate watching it ... though.

The only reason you would want to touch this show is because you have nothing else to watch

I actually don’t understand why people like this show, I wouldn’t even recommend this to Saddam Hussein.

This has to be one of the incomprehensible shows of all time and I can’t fathom its narrative decisions for so. This show makes Game of Thrones season eight look good, The Rise of Skywalker is a 10/10 movie for me after watching this. For being a comedy it’s criminally unfunny, watching it long enough will give you Stockholm syndrome. This is one of those anime you put on ... to make fun of and nothing more. It’s like watching Twilight as an adult.

This show is a toddler trying to wear size 12 shoes but anytime it walks it falls flat.
