Devil Survivor 2 The Animation

Okay, so, we have all these really normal high school kids, right? What if gigantic amounts of bad shit went down, culminating in them obtaining super demon-summoning powers? Sounds silly, yes? Take it up with Atlus, that's the basic premise of both these shows. There's a good amount of mystery going on here, and the general atmosphere is pretty dark and eerie. (Although Persona 4 is most certainly the cheerier of the two.) 

Both series are adaptations of a Shin Megami Tensei Game by Atlus. Also, Seiji Kishi is the director of both anime adaptation series.  

Students dealing with deaths that can be predicted through some kind of mechanism. These kids can also summon beings used for fighting. 

They have a very similar ambiance, feeling and are both adaptation of similar Shin Megami Tensei games. Persona 4, though, is much better. 

Not only are both the series from the Shin Megami Tensei franchise but they also share that feeling of supernatural mystery. These mysteries surrounds the origins of the series as well as the characters. In fact, the characters' cast from both series are small but contain big mysteries. Among other things, there's the usage of beasts/avatars produced by summoning of their owners. These summoned beasts fights on the behalf of their owners from both series to gain dominance; super power backgrounds. Both series' characters also have similar age ranges and features similar artwork. They also contain action and are directed by Seiji Kishi. 

Both are anime adaptatiosn of Shin Megami Tensei games, which means they both have a similar "dark" vibe to them with a dark storyline. A lot of demons will be the same in both games since they're part of the same franchise, for example: Pixie. Both games ARE EXCELLENT and Persona 4 animation was good. 

Kishi Seiji is the director of both anime. Adapted from famous Shin Megami Tensei JRPGs with same name. Both anime focuses on bonds of friendship, in which can make you stronger. Demons are involved, either in a good or a bad way. Human main antagonist are shown at the end of both anime, suggesting that humans caused the chaos in the first place. 

Both anime are videogame adaptation of two of Atlus' awesome game. Persona 4's from the Persona series (obviously) while Devil Survivor sorta follows Shin Megami Tensei. And for those who are unaware, SMT follows the strict "chosen one fights demons WITH demons to save the world" formula. This means that both series have ties to demons (or technically, mythological creatures). P4's more concerned about bonds, while DS2 is a little darker and edgier. Persona 4 adapted the game right, now we'll see if DS2 can do it too :D 

Both have mysterious killings. Both anime have the same kind of dark ambient, and in both anime, there are a group of teenagers that fight with a kind of demons by also using demons. 

Both stories are Action filled yet comedic animes with some mystery surrounding it. Both of the anime are adapted from games, Protagonist in both stories are fighting monsters per say, by using a summoned avatar, which is Life is at stake. Both series have the same feel in terms of the story. 

Both Shin Megami Tensei titles. Both have a focus on the bonds between characters and how this fuels their powers. Both protagonists have similar powers, in the form of summoning Personas or Demons. Both have similar underlying themes. Both focus on the fact that the protagonists have a limited amount of time to accomplish what they need to accomplish. 

Both made by the same studio and also both based off of Shin Megami Tensei Games. You may even see some of the previous "Demons" in Devil Survivor are also "Personas" in Persona. 

Same Has Summon skills to survive and if you like devil survivor 2 this will be an exact copy of it. 

Both are based on popular jrpg series from ATLUS as well as also lots of action and occult shit happening. 

Both work for a secret government and the main character has to fight demons to protect the world.  

Devil Survivor 2 The Animation, is Basically trying to be NGE in a lot of ways. The OST by itself is NGE!. Yes NGE without Mecha. I'm gonna make it short and say the only thing that makes DS2 original is nothing. The fans might get mad at me. But i enjoyed the show, and i see NGE is makes the show good. 

Powerful inhuman entities are attacking the earth, and advanced technological means are the only way to stop them. A young male protagonist is thrust into the fray of battle because he is more capable than anyone else with this advanced technology. The main company in charge of combat pushes adolescents past their breaking points, and show almost no regard for individual lives. 

A limited amount of monster are attacking the city/world. They come solely after the monster before them was killed. If you don't defeat it, something terrible will occur! that's what both anime are about. 

Same basis, different execution. In these two series, we find these similutes: - Enemies that warn the end of humanity, in EVA are Angeles and in DS2 are Septentrion´s, which appear in different places of Japan, with different abilities. - To fight, people were chosen, which are able to control a power with their own hands, in EVA they control the Evas (Mechas) and in DS2 the Demons. The ability of these weapons it depends in the carrier / pilot's ability. - The protagonist lives in an indecision of what is correct (in DS2 is not as EXAGERATED as EVA), and decides by priority to protect the lives of others. Despite being forced to participate. - A subject in command who has known in advance of these monsters, hides a purpose behind, where goes sacrifice anyone to do it.  read more 

Lots of religious symbolism,a white hair character a reluctant hero as well as also mass destruction as well too. 

Both series have effectively the same plot: after Earth is invaded by dangerous beings from another world, a group of teenagers working under a shady millitary organization whose leader hides deep secrets behind the whole ordeal are humanity's only hope at fighting back, using something similar to their enemies, while a non-human white haired boy gets obssessed with our protagonist, who's very much not enjoying the situation he's put into. The main difference is that Evangelion becomes increasingly surreal over time before reaching its infamously incomprehensible ending, while Devil Survivor 2 retains a clear plot with an ending that makes sense. 

Both anime are about survival and the approach of humans to a dangerous situation with teenage main characters. Mirai Nikki has a psychological approach with action elements, Devil Survivor 2 has philosophical elements about the destiny of mankind. Also some characters have traits in common. 

Both series involves around a city in which there is strange supernatural phenomenon taking place. The usage of cell phones is a part of those phenomenons. The setting also features a game-like scenario where survival is the key. In other words, lives are at stakes and there are no second chances. The series also has action, drama, and deals with how the main characters must overcome obstacles in order to survive.  

Both have contenders fighting for their lives using mobile devices that foretell future events of fatality. Devil Survivor takes it on a new level, where demon summoning apps are even taken into play. 

Both have an element where you can predict future deaths using your phone. (Well more specific is in Devil Survivor 2, it's a phone app) It's a similar idea as it's survival, but rather than it being a Battle Royale, people/humanity are clubbing together to defeat demons. So it's a new story to enjoy! 

Both are death game story focused as well as sharing characters who can be killed at any given moment as well as lots of chaos happening throughout the story. 

They both are some kind of a battle royale (however, Devil Survivor is less of this) and the characters uses mobile phones which has an special application, that lets them survive. Main character for both series, and also the main "antagonist", are almost the same in terms of personality, but Devil Survivor isn't as extreme as Mirai Nikki. As for general plot, while it's similar one to another, Mirai Nikki is more like Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker's Triangulum path (original game), so it's more recommended for those who enjoyed the main game of DeSu rather than anime-only fans. 

Similar characters Art looks quite like the characters. The characters personalities is the same. Same supernatural with demons.  

I just can't help it - the tree main characters seem to be really similar to me. (Mikado/Hibiki, Masaomi/Daichi, Anri/Io) 

- Same producers: Mainichi Broadcasting. - Supernatural with Demons. - Same setting in the First Impressions: Metro like city, train/subway station. - Similarities Main Character and the Personalities is the same. Ryuugamine Mikado = Kuze Hibiki Kida Masaomi = Shijima Daichi Sonohara Anri = Nitta Io Each female main character (Anri / Io) attends the same school as 2 each male main character (Mikado & Masaomi / Hibiki & Daichi) which are friends . 

The three main-ish characters are very similar in both, especially the female protagonist. 

both are supernatural based stories with a wide variety of characters as well as lots of strange shit happenining as the story progresses through. 

Both are about Humanity suddenly being invaded by unknown monsters Both series can have a monster in a technology made for humanity to fight back  

The same scenario where mankind is in danger of being overrun by beings from another dimension and the one who can stop them are people who uses the same inter-dimension being to fight them off. 

Similarities: + The world is invaded by demons and the humans must team up with partner-creatures in order to fight against them and against other humans when disputes break out + Sawashiro Miyuki voices a character in both shows that initially gets the main character involved in everything Differences: - Devil Survivor involves much more fighting against unknown supernatural creatures, while Z/X Ignition involves fighting more against humans and their partners with less of a imminent threat to the planet 

Both involve creatures from another world that cause chaos in man's world. Both as well involve groups of people who control worldly creatures from another place to fight others.

Both are survival horrors directed by Seiji Kishi. They are adaptations of console video games and are aimed at youger audience. The style of animation is also similar - cartoonish yet somewhat dark. 

Both of the anime is derived and adapted from a game. And storylines are pretty much the same, someone has to die, the fact that most people die and whatsoever.  

* Both are average game adaptations... * Both series features highschoolers who were trown in chaotic situation for no reason... * Both Male leads are really dislikeable... (even their VA's) * Both has pretty big cast....which was not needed at all... * Both has lots of unexplained things in them... * Did I mentioned that nearly every character in these series are so freakin' boring?? * BGM's are great ( seriously they're good ) * Impossible to binge in one day period....(boring, predictable) = So, if you like bland characters, boring storyline and game adaptations you'll probably will enjoy one of these anti-masterpieces for sure...

In essence, there exists supernatural beings that are from another world/dimension that threatens the people that resides in their respective series. These beings have their special abilities. Some of the people from both series have partners/summonings of their own and are able to combat these beings. The main male protagonist from both series strives to make the most of his life and with his partner often tries to help others along with his friends. There is also action, drama, and other strange supernatural phenomenon going on in both series.  

Both are about kids that fight against monsters who are a menace to the world controlling other monsters. The story gets pretty dark very quickly. The organizations who intervene in the story, the JPs (Devil Survivor) and Hypnos (Digimon), are very similar. Some of the monsters of both series are based on mythology. 

Three ordinary kids, two boys and one girl, that all of a sudden have mysterious beasts that they can control and use to fight other mysterious beasts in order to protect their city. Not to mention just the overall feel of it. I would say that Devil Survivor 2 is more mature, but that's about it. 

In both series, there is a theme of survival in an hostile environment. Faced with danger, the main characters must learn to survive given their new circumstances. It's also worth noting that both series all began in an underground railway system. Both series contains plenty of action, drama, and has a dark tone to the backgrounds of the story. The main male protagonist also seems to be stressed about his current situation as well as those around him, especially those who lost their lives. Both series contains supernatural themes involving demons and supernatural beings. 

Both have supernatural survival themes, with great action and drama, where some chosen ones that died see themselves on a unknown situation, and can trade points of monsters that they killed for new powers and etc. Apart of that, if u watch the first episode, u gonna see a great similarity on a certain scene~ 

Both are survival play or die types of stories where anybody could be killed at any moment and lots of chaos in it. 

I think the vibe and basic story were both very similar as well as some characters like hibiki and shu, and also yamato and gai. But more importantly they are just both really good. 

Same plot of the story One day a normal boy [Guilty Crown : Ouma Shu][Devil Survivor 2 : Kuze Hibiki] experience strange occurrences and join to a organization [Guilty Crown : GHQ][Devil Survivor 2 : JPs]. After joined the organization they met the leader of the organization [Guilty Crown : Tsutsugami Gai][Devil Survivor 2 : Houtsuin Yamato]. The main character thinkt the leader is a good people can chance the world. But That he thought it was wrong. At the end of the story The main character fought with the leader of the organization [Guilty Crown : Ouma Shu Vs Tsutsugami Gai][Devil Survivor 2 : Kuze Hibiki vs Houtsuin Yamato]. read more 

both are survival themed action anime with a reluctant mc and lots of chaos happening and anyone can die at any given moment as well too. 

It's really alike, especially that there's a character just like Yamato who wants to change the world. Really give it a try!  

Both shows touch extremely similar themes, but the similarities don't end there, they both have characters looking for a wish source to remake the world (the Divine Gate/Polaris), a politician in a strong position with a tragic backstory wanting to rule the world into a better era (Arthur/Yamato), a main character of little emotion who has spent most of their lives in loneliness joining a team with a girl and an energetic boy (Aoto/Hibiki), a mysterious white haired boy who follows around the main character and talks of philosophy with him (Boy K/Alcor), and have a big group of supporting characters who mostly serve as background stuff to the main trio and the polititian (the Knights of Round/JPs). If you like one, you'll definitely like the other. read more 

The idea to fight for survival and along side a partner is a theme in both series. FSN and Devil Survior 2 The Animation brings together a master and a servant/partner where they struggle for survival. Thus, there's also drama and action present from both series. This all starts on a faithful day that would change the main male protagonist's life as they knew once before forever. At the same time, the MC tries to fight for what they believe in along with his friend and partner/servant.  

Youngsters have to summon devils/heroes to fight for survival 

Both have a character that is charsmatic and something of an anti hero with some pretty unorthodox goals in it and also motifs of relgious symbolism as well too in it and lots of stylish action too.

Both of these anime, in my eyes, are similar due to the characters, the action, demons, and the way the characters find the will to survive and help their friends through hardships. 

Both are focused around fighting powerful supernatural creatures that are terrorizing the city and a much higher power behind the events of the storyline as well too and a modern Japan setting as well too. And god vs god story theme as well too with different ideals included.  

Well, to begin with, both anime feature a male main character. Their lives are both flipped completely once they become involved in a game. Along with this, the anime revolve around the theme of survival. Because of this, there are a good amount of battle scenes which feature a variety of demons. 

Bokurano and DS2. Both series have these similarities: - The protagonists are chosen to acquire a certain skill, which will serve to destroy some enemies for the humanity, which, it is known how much they will appear. - The protagonists have the risk of dying, every time they use their abilities - The anime shows that fighting is the only option, since that will depend on the destruction of this world, by higher beings, who decide the fate of the Earth. The series convey the feelings of the protagonists, in their decision to fight or not, trying to escape their responsibilities and at the same time creating an excuse to do so. It shows the psychological struggle of them against the people who look at them with rancor, since their powers brought death to humanity. read more
