Both of these series follow adolescents. The main characters both follow a set goal where each is trying to prove something to someone. The character development is superb and goes into exquisite detail for everyone. Both series have specific powers or abilities that each character maintains. Action scenes are also extremely intense and well animated.

Both created by Yoshihiro Togashi. Shounen genre and involves the main characters discovering a whole new world outside of what they knew.

Just as One Piece,Hunter x hunter is a pretty long shounen anime, both series can be really funny at times ,you will never get bored and always want to see the next episode, both anime have some awesome fights and also the characters are very likable,if you enjoy one of this anime you will most probably like the other one too.

In both series the main chars are actually weaker than their opponents and they win with pure strategy.

Both anime involve a group of friends traveling together and engaging in independent fights, as well as tournament-style fights. They are both great series, especially for martial arts lovers. Both have interesting characters, each with their purpose for fighting, a mysterious group of antagonists, and a lot of fun to watch.

Hunter x Hunter's first series. It doesn't cover nearly as much as HxH 2011 and is slower paced but is sitll a slightly different adaptation of the first arcs of HxH.

Brilliant minds. Life and death situations. Story gets darker just as Death Note does.

Both series are classic Shounen for starters, using similar styles with subtle differences. More specifically, both series follow young protagonists as the progress through the world in search of something, although what they search for is a bit different. Chaos of course follows both, as well as humorous situations and both form bonds with those they proceed through life with.

Both main characters do not have a father figure in their life. Both main characters are on a very perilous journey (wish I could say more about this but then their would be spoilers) Both end up having to get help from other people along the way Both have very good fight scenes Both are very well made both in terms of story, character development, art style, music, etc. If you are on the fence watch the first 5-10 episodes. If you liked one of these anime I can almost guarantee that you will be hooked.

The concept of hunting for exotic food instantly reminded me of Hunter x Hunter, although it was only mentioned in a few episodes in this series.

It's just like dbz. Adventure + sweet action. Hunter just expands on it with a concrete plot, action scenes that are not overly drawn out. keyword overly. The characters are likeable. there are also a slew of them, just like dragon ball z. For the most part it has the light hearted action packed with some character definition. i found the beginning to also be slightly slow just like with dbz. But it quickly makes up for it.

A shounen with a, in my opinion, little more mature approuch than Bleach, sacrificing a little bit of fighting for a lot more psychology etc. A must-watch in my opinion!

The jobs in both Anime are similar and the characters have similar powers. On top of this the characters have similar personalities. There is also lots of action and similar styles.

It may just be me but the two male mains slightly remind me of each other. I like the "Hunter X Hunter" main more though but the have the same sort of feel.

Both series feature an upward scramble for power, and an exponential increase in challenges for the main characters. Though Claymore lacks the puzzle-solving element of Hunter x Hunter, the process of developing "special techniques" is similarly fun to watch in both series. If you enjoy the over-the-top action and intense situations of one, you'll definitely enjoy the other.

My Hero is a pretty well-known anime, and I feel like everyone has at least heard of it, but when I asked around for recommendations for something like hxh, no one ever mentioned mha. Mha is about a young boy (entering high school) who dreams of being a hero. This is set in a future Japan, where 80% of society has developed a "quirk" or a superpower of sorts. I feel like both these animes follow the plot of a relatively weak hero who grows exponentially (my favorite trope). Tbh, the main characters, Gon and Deku, are insanely similar in their mindsets, values, and personalities.  read more

The magical continent of "Gunjou no Magmel" is clearly inspired by the world of "Hunter x Hunter". Just like the idea of explorers venturing onto the island to find previously unknown life forms and resources. But the comparison ends here.

Both are anime based on manga published by Shounen Jump. They have a lot of action and an interesting power system. Fights are usually won through strategy and planning, instead of raw strength.

-> Both of the want to be strong. -> Both of theirs father are legendary -> Both of them have good characters

Both anime are pretty slow yet are not boring and manage to get a lot of things happening. They have a lot of interesting and developed characters, in both anime going through tests. The soundtracks are somehow similar and really good. The protagonists are both seeking to surpass someone in a specialization (Gon wants to be a better hunter than his father; Mutta wants to be a better astronaut than his brother) and get often compared to the people they want to beat. In both anime, there is a main character who wants to become doctor because of someone's death in the past.

I was thinking for a while about who Bojji reminded me of and now I remember... GON!

the will of being the strongest or the best in SOMETHING is always an good ambition wether to be a Martial arts fighter ( HxH) or the best champion the virtual world has ever seen and beyond (Dragondrive)

Both anime focus on young male protagonist who travels the world in order to find a certain person. They both also have a group of likable friends. These anime have an unique and balanced power system, and battles are usually won using strategy instead of pure strength. Both anime are based on manga published by Shounen Jump.

The main characters are similar, both anime contain tournaments and both protagonists have their fathers gone missing. They give you a really similar feeling being both happy and childish but sometimes really mature and sad.

Both involve people fighting Not really much romance in either (hardly any) Both protagonists have a main goal Both are really great shows Fight scenes are tacky but unbelievable at the same time Both are original shows that no one can match

Characters taking challenge of climbing dangerous Tower. Smart and mysterious partner? Deep world building? Both seem to have long stories. Tower of god seems to have the higher chance of reaching the end of its story compared to HxH. xD

- Cute but violent - Unusual character designs - Full of mind games Danganronpa doesn't have fights and is a little darker in tone, but they remind each other.

Both of these shows are fun adventure shows from the 1990's that that explores very fun characters with decent pacing.

Like one punch man has a hero association hunter x hunter also has hunter association They both have main characters who are kinda overpowered - saitama for OPM and killuas family for HxH. Both have characters who struggle more in fights than others. Both protagonists are searching for something - a worthy adversary for saitama and his father for Gon. The only main difference between them is that HxH is a bit darker than OPM.

Both have great plots with complex characters and potential for theories

After finishing these two shows, I got a similar feeling, It's the huge potential. Making you hungry! hungry for more storytelling; basically due to their non-linear story and likable main characters which are memorable; Like in berserk we have: Guts, Griffith, Casca, and Corkus. And in HxH we have: Gon, Killua, Kurapika, and Leorio. Both have the same dark themes, friendship, adventures, hardships, fantasy and magic monsters. While the 99 version of HxH still great, I recommend to watch the 2011 version over the old one , So you might wonder why I tied Berserk with the 1999 version of HxH; It's because it has  read more

Both are shonen anime. The story follows a main character and a group of friends in a guild which resolves around friendship. Both series resolve around a couple of fighting arcs, finding a sort of meaning to their lives and certain answers which the shows start with.

If you like the vibes between Langa Riki and ADAM then you'll like the vibes between Gon Killua and Hisoka. This anime gives off a battle vibe between Gon and Hisoka much like Langa and ADAM have. Also ADAM and Hisoka definitely give off that possessive "nobody can have him but me vibe." The friendship aspect is there as well Gon and Killua have a similar friendship as Langa and Riki. Where Riki and Killua have been doing things longer but Langa and Gon just have that natural ability and Riki and Killua don't want to be left behind while at the same time keep  read more

At first glance these anime couldn't be more different since they are completely different genres, but what they have in common is a dense atmosphere and a mysterious soundtrack. Also both anime deal a lot with nature and animals.

Both have a energetic character that finds friends with a certain goal in their life. They fight against enemies and end up finding many treasures in their journey while deepening their friendship bonds.

Both Anime have the concept of "Hunters" people who go after relics. Hunter x Hunter is geared more towards a male audience while Taken Driland is geared more towards a female audience. Both characters though set out because someone inspired them to become Hunters.

A shounen with a, in my opinion, little more mature approuch than Naruto, sacrificing a little bit of fighting for a lot more psychology etc. Also, Naruto has several influenses from this anime as far as i can see. One major point of difference though is the fact that Hunter X Hunter is quite alot more fast-pased than Naruto: Shippuuden.

Wonderful character development, great plotline.

They are both great animes. While Tower of Druaga has more comedy, they both have good amounts of action. They both also have a very RPG like style, and Hunter X Hunter also has a very tournament like storyline, in Tower of Druaga I mean the tower and each floor.

Aside from being action-packed shounen series with special abilities, they both also often give the same kind of feeling. Many scenes have a well thought-out feel and the main villains have depth.

Similar factors- struggling hero, fights, action and adventure. I prefer hunter x hunter though.

If you liked one, you might like the other... They're both kid-friendly animes about kids in a new, competitive environment, learning and growing, while searching for their long lost parent through a game (knowingly or unknowingly).

Same atmosphere, multiple main characters which are all well-drawn well-done, the adventure sense and the ninja abilities, shows that maybe lot more similarities to come

Though Hunter x Hunter is a series of total 92 episodes (regarding the main TV and its OVAs as a single whole), and Brave Story is a less than 2 hour movie, they still have very close athmosphere and leave similar impression after watching. The main character of Brave Story Wataru and the HxH antagonist Gon are both friendly, straight and a bit ingenuous boys. But both of them strive for finding and regaining something important, that is their family. The similarity becomes more evident, if Brave Story is placed next to the HxH Greed Island arc. The characters send themselves into a different world, which turns  read more

Super engaging/amusing/touching Epic Quest fantasy with a ton of awesome characters.

Tactics and strategy. With the biggest difference in executed scope. HxH does masterful work at portraying T&S in micro situations and play-by-play fights. While this show (at least up to the ending in ep. 11) portrays the same disposition in a macro scale. Both anime will take you into a fun roller coaster ride where predicaments of conflicting factions swap flawlessly. Taking into account character personality, character POV, world building and situations.

Both have really similar plots: they want to be something, and chase after an important person which they lost (at an early age)

Samurai in Champloo are like the Hunters in HxH. Fuu is like Gon: they wish to travel, in order to find their own missing father. Then Fuu and Gon start their long journey together with strong companions. Many dangerous tasks and adventures await them, and they will be often in troubles.

Hikaru reminded me of Gon. Both have the same determination; to be the best. And both serie have examinations that designated the winner.

Both main characters have a gift that most people woudn't expect of them. Both characters also appear to most people as weak at first glance. They both also form a little group of friends
