An unknowing Sudou Kaname is invited to try out a new mysterious mobile app game called Darwin's Game, but later realizes that he's in for more than he's bargained for when he finds out that there's no way to quit the game.
Instead of having you transferred to another world begin your adventure of survival, how about just do it from real life? That is exactly what this anime is about.
The story begins when the main protagonist downloads an app that happens to turn a whole society into a battle zone. The app or organization can somehow manipulate people’s thinking, turn an in-game coin into a real-world functional currency system, and it can somehow maintain order to a society when you are literally been put into a deathmatch. Unless the later episodes explain these rules that it has been set up, for all those people that
gave 7,8,9 or even 10 for this anime, you are overrating this trash.
The characters are straight-up one dimensional. The main protagonist goes along with the game without even questioning who is behind it. He doesn’t even think twice about trying to find the person behind this stupid game and just thinks about survival. The anime would have been a lot more interesting if they just simply had their main character being a little smarter. The “Queen” is another trash character that falls for the main protagonist in the first episode because why not? The anime needs some waifus. No need to write about other characters because they are trash.
I hate this show. I didn’t enjoy a single minute after a decent start with the first episode. Again, the anime would have been a lot more interesting if they dig deeper into the function of the society under this game or organization. In anyhow, this anime is trash.
It's got some interest far as I'm concerned. But also I can see why it's a bit of a hit and miss for some. But it does show elements of being a decent show overall, and here is why.
The animation and art style is really good. It's not bad by any stretch, which goes along way for a show. That's a plus to start with. The music and sounds within the show itself is also good, and isn't annoying to listen to. Both of those areas are covered really well.
As for the characters themselves, this is where the mixed bag comes in really. Some of
the cast can be viewed as interesting, while some aren't really besides just having a few tropes attached them. You also get the feel that any potential new interesting character with how the story has progressed, could just get killed off as if they were nothing. Which can be a downfall. As for the mains themselves? I think they're great, the mc in particular is very relatable and realistic in my opinion with how he's reacting to all of this coming onto him.
As for the story itself, looking like the way it is. ((Not gonna say what it is cause spoilers)) it does give me vibes from a certain horror movie, which does interest me. Also curious what other's abilities are and what their backgrounds are too.
If you are familiar with Mirai Nikki then you should know where this is going. Again as in Mirai Nikki phones play a very big part. You are screwed if you lose it and stuff. But at least the main character isn't as pathetic as Yukki. And this is more like the new era since everyone has smart phones instead of the older types. By winning games you get points. You can buy shields that removes you from the matchmaking for a week. It costs 10 point. You get points by winning games. I don't know how much points you get by winning
but Sadao had like 500 or 600 points after beating Shuka. You can also convert your points into money. 10 equals about 1000000 Yen.
The story starts with some flashy action. Our protagonist sees the app called Darwins game and despite his friend warning him about it he still downloads it and unlocks his Sigil. He then gets matched against a rookie hunter and the game begins. If you lose the you die, you'll disappear in to the void. He through luck wins the game. Then he goes to meet the "Undefeated Queen" and gets into a fight. Then some time passes and a treasure hunt begins.
Sudou Kaname is a typical pathetic mc who is again very fucking dumb. He is afraid to kill anyone even if his life is on the line. His special Sigil is creating items, I think. But he can't create much, we have only seen a pistol and a stun gun. Karino Shuka is girl who is titled the "Undefeated Queen" Even though he lost to Sudou because bullshit. Her special Sigil is Telekinesis. She teamed up with Saduo after her loss. She is still feared by many. Her weapon is a chain that has kunais in the ends. Rein Kashiwagi is a girl and works as an Information Broker. Her Sigil is the ability to see the future. She uses it pretty well. She teamed up with Sudou to fight against the florist. She uses a Sniper Rifle
The opening is very good. The animation and visuals are on point and the music is very nicely chosen to compliment the visuals.
If you have shit taste and enjoy trash then watch this. Or if you liked Mirai Nikki then also watch this.
Stop Comapring with SAO because I dont think you'll see romance in there..
The intensity of every fight is downright Fun and Nail Biting..
The MC is also pretty well developed in my opinion..
I'm not judging but those who call this anime bad might not have a taste for the "Game" category..Moreover, the action in Darwin's Game is one of a kind, it's actually really hard to deduce the outcome of the fights that go on.
Also, not every anime that has a game feature should be compared to SAO..
The anime also jumps straight into the action without adding nits of drama and, which makes the
20 mins just fly away..
