The official Twitter account of the Jashin-chan Dropkick (Dropkick on my Devil!) anime series announced the production of a three-episode OVA following a successful crowdfunding campaign on Saturday.

The campaign launched on November 30 and exceeded its initial 30 million yen (approximately US$234,567) goal within the first 35 minutes. The crowdfunding ended on Friday, raising over 115 million yen (approximately US$907,000). The production committee plans to apply for the Guinness World Record for raising the most money for an anime production.

Yukiwo began publishing the supernatural comedy manga on Flex Comix's online magazine Comic Meteor in April 2012. The 20th volume shipped on December 12.

The first season aired in 11 episodes in Summer 2018, with the 12th episode debuting on October 1 of that year. The second season premiered exclusively on Amazon's Prime Video platform on April 6. Crunchyroll also streamed the anime subsequently.

Both series are owned by fuck-huge gready companies. Too bad they are too stingy to pay for high budget adaptation of Berserk.

Man, I love how crowdfunding goals hardly ever fail in Japan. Personally never seen one but I'm sure there must be beyond my reach.

Looking forward to this! I didn't think X was as good as the previous two seasons but it was still nice to watch nonetheless.

How does this happen? The series is clearly loved and has fans (since they are helping in crowdfunding) so did it bomb in sales on other places or what's the deal with this show? Always begging for some funding.
Fan love isn't necessarily enough for a studio to pay for sequels in full. Hollywood is full of films with significant fan bases that have failed at the box office.

Man, Berserk would reach billions if they had a inernational  campaign.
I'm sure they have enough money and the producers can give the green light at any moment. It's just not part of their business plan.

Bruh, if there is ONLY 1 series that succeeds by its people, it's Jashin-chan.

The taxpayers' monies are coming along well, funded by the people.

This "begging" you are talking about happens due to the fact that they don't have sponsors to fund the project (not sure about this so feel free to correct me). Instead of always finding something to complain or be dissatisfied with... shouldn't we, I don't know.... be happy that the crowdfunding was a success? I swear I don't understand people these days.

They could crowdfund entire adaptation while they're at it.
