What are you talking about? It has volume in 8th, 9th and 12th spot. But let me tell you that Kimetsu has beaten one piece this year not only in overall sales but volume sales.

It may take up most of the top 20 spots when it comes to per volume sales. And Kimetsu is currently at 40 million surpassing One piece 37 Million volume record and it still hasn't even reach the half way poinr.

I don't think one piece fans can make any excuses when the mid sales and yearly sales are released.

It is probable that all the top 20/23 will be all Kimetsu. A single individual volume of the manga currently sells more than a single recent OP volume past a month.

Woah, thanks for the info.

Not a single volume of Kimetso No Yaiba is in top 20. That means most of the people that did buy the volume did bought a stack of them to read the continuation. Where 60% tp 70% of One piece sales is only from 4 volumes...

I'm not worshipping One piece.

Well I know for a fact that around 16M mangas were sold in France in 2018 and KNY isn't that popular there, so it won't be that surprising that One Piece could catch up KNY in overall yearly sales

Well yeah One Piece will inevitably catch up because these sales for Kimetsu are primarily binge sales. Its anime this year shot up its popularity & caused everyone to buy every single volume in quick succession.

Of course it won't have as high numbers next year. By that point everyone will be caught up & the sales will stabalize. That's how buisness works.

Yeah that comment really didn't age well Kimetsu no Yaiba in 2020 already has more sales than it's entirety in 2019, seems like will be Kimetsu this year again

You are aware Japan is the primary marketplace for manga right? You succeed in Japan, you are a success in general which transfers to other countries as a result.

I've seen plenty of people around my college talking about Kimetsu for instance. It was even announced by the official English localizers of the manga that they are speeding up releases of the manga which is a sign that its in high demand around here.

I can't read japanese, but that is dated 2018 of October. So I'm pretty sure the sales has gone up since then with the release of 3 more volumes.

yes, from 76 to 84 million.

japan publisher didn't release worldwide sales in general.

tho the latest data from japan

BLEACH (Vol. 1 to 74) 90 million copies

http://comicdata.blog.fc2.com/blog-entry-5.html

anime didn't sales manga, anime advertise manga. does it enough to make people buy the manga is different matter.
