Sort of an off reply, but i've heard the TG anime isn't very good but i've heard good things about the manga, is it worth picking up?

try it yourself and decide...don't rely on other's opinions
you've got your own taste..and brains

One of the best comments I've read on this site.

I suppose people should just watch Mars of Destruction and ignore everyone else's opinions on it so they can try it for themselves and decide.

Getting a general consensus and also some opinions on something before I decide if I want to invest time into it or not is also a good idea too you know.

Or you could check out the ratings, some reviews, or the threads about it and get a general consensus that way instead of asking in this thread.

I've just noticed that Tokyo Ghoul vol.1 has made 12 weeks on the list, almost a full season. If it can get a dub and air on Adult Swim, then it may very well stay on the list for a year (very very unlikely though) .

And AoT vol. 1 is at its 112th week. It looks more and more like that record will never be broken. Reminds me of "My Neighbour Totoro" which made ~700 weeks on the weekly DVD lists, ah Miyazaki.

The anime is the worst piece of shit I've ever watched in my whole life besides Sune på bilsemester and The Cat In The Hat and its sequel is somehow a thousand times worse. Don't watch it (1/10)

I've only read volume 1 of the manga so far and it's bad but nowhere as bad as it's adaptation (4/10)

As a person who's a fan of the series just go straight for the manga. The anime is basically an advertisement that skips a lot of important things in the manga. Root A completely went off track but it was told from the very beginning that it wouldn't follow the manga.

The manga is worth picking up, it's a solid read. However as a fan of the series the anime was pretty mediocre imo.

I've been enjoying it, read the first two volumes and they've been great. I watched the anime first and am noticing so much parts being skipped, from what I can tell the anime is just more rushed than the manga, Root A was where they got very lenient with the source material.

anyway..if a manga sold the most in some country that's mean it's the most popular manga in that country..rigardless of the amount of sales, like one piece in japan..and Naruto in US and Dragon Ball in france..

Its not regardless, 30k sales and 10 million or so is a veeeeeery big difference.
Dude..seriously..when the hell did I said there is no difference between 30k and 10 million..? all I said is:

and this has nothing to do with your point..unless your point was "if A sold 10 million in japan then it's more popular in US than B, because B sold just 30k in US.."
I hope this is not your point..

Even OPM vol1 only sold like 1500 copies and that's stretching it :(

wow..Naruto still fighting those monsters for the dignity of the old big 3..

The awkward moment when Naruto will sell more than them..

I guess that happens when your only knowledge comes from a meaningless weekly ranking.

Very very familiar, lol.

Naruto vol.71 will probably not outsell any of those vol. 1s. It will outsell the other volumes though.

dude..there is no big 3 in japan or anywhere else besides US..and ofcourse the big 3 in US would be the ones that sold the most in US..like Duh..
and one piece doesn't sell as much as AOT for sure..and I doubt it sell as much as TG or OPM per volume because I don't see it anywhere in this week's top 10 list or the last 5 weeks's top 10 lists..

Dude you kidding? One Piece is the best selling since 8 years straight it sells 3 million per volume, AoT 1.7, TG 800k, OPM 500k. Clearly you know nothing abou sales.

Tokyo Ghoul sells above 900K.
