New Anime of Hanasaku Iroha Announced [Update May 21]

According to Hokkoku Newspaper, a new anime of Hanasaku Iroha was announced at Yuwaku Bonbori Festival. It will be released in 2012.

“Bonbori Festival” was originally an imaginary festival in Hanasaku Iroha anime. The tourist association of Yuwaku, the model spa of Hanasaku Iroha anime, reproduced the festival with the anime producers in order to promote the spa. About 5,000 people visited the spa during the festival and filled the main street.

Update March 22nd
According to the official website, the title of the new anime was announced to be "Hanasaku Iroha - Home Sweet Home".

According to Monthly Gangan Joker, Hanasaku Iroha - Home Sweet Home is planned to be a movie to be released within 2012.

Ive just finished this series i think it was simple marvelous. One of the best series ive seen in a long time, and i can tell.

I agree, I was actually able to keep watching this show. Slice of life shows usually end up boring me at some point, I thought Hanasaku was, as you said, a bit of fresh air.

So much negativity about the 1st season in this thread. Personally, I thought it was a nice bit of fresh air from the usual slice-of-life genre. I'm set for a sequel and hope it turns out well.

Well i just ifnished this series the other day, and I can agree with many when I say, you know I didn't really think I'd like it, it didn't have a premise that I thought I'd like, but the characters are so lovable and memorable I quickly fell in love with the show. The ending, as some have said was a bit anticlimactic, but I'm not sure how they could have done it any differently. I would love to see a few years after, with a couple of the characters, probably not all of them, but I'm not sure if a sequel would make it any better or not.
