I like episodic animes most of the time and Cowboy Bebop is no exception. I am really liking this so far. And despite the episodic nature, there is something a undreneath that connects the whole thing. In this epiode, we see more about Jet. I liked the tone of the episode and the change in tone which is certainly good and keep things refreshed.
The next one looks interesting.

It was a really good episode, I liked that fact you got to see more about Jet. Anyway what I do disslike is these characters just poping in and out from the series. All episodes are they same, it would had been cool if they were all connected somehow in the end ;)

this episode was quite lovely. it added a heart felt touch. another episode learning the past of the characters which in-part drove them to become a bounty hunter. i'm hoping for more of a past on the other characters. it connects me with them more.

Wow so that's what Jet's past was like, great to see some insight into each of the character's pasts, Eds I can imagine should be interesting to watch xD

Mm, liked seeing Jet's background play out. Looking forward to seeing Ed's and Faye's, now... The episodes do have that episodic feel but I'm still enjoying them. 8D Haven't gotten bored of the series at all. (And it seems highly unlikely that anyone could tire of it.)

I really enjoyed this episode (which isn't a surprise since they have all been enjoyable) and seeing a little bit of Jet's past. This episode also had one of the deeper meanings in the series... showing that Jet can finally move on (indicated by throwing the broken watch away).

so why was a small fry like him worth 1.8m when three hijackers were only worth 1.5m total?

If you've paid attention, the guy killed a loan shark, and is still in debt. The hijackers probably didn't kill anyone except steal stuff.

Was a pretty good episode, with that fanservice, eh?

I really love how they handle themes in this show. Like this one, with Jet and his heartbreak. It's handled in such a mature way. This show rocks.

Oh and delicious Faye fanservice.

Awesome episode. the characters seem to have so much depth. It was a very mature episode, and I loved the fact that he still turned them in. What she said was interesting, Jet wouldn't stop protecting her...thats pretty rare in most anime i've seen. She had a good realistic reason for leaving him...it made the situation kind of unique. I also loved Ed bothering Faye. ^_^

Jet's the MAN! Every aspect about him is so mature and realistic. The episode had some great drama and the Faye Ed part was delicious.

Nice to see a bit of back story on Jet. He really is quite the righteous and lawful figure, smacking around his ex's new boyfriend, and talking some sense into her. Great closure.

The atmosphere in this show really is incredible, helped plenty by the music and animation, which give life to an otherwise pretty desolate looking universe. I hope everything gets tied together in the end.

Acting like a dog for some reason

Possibly how she thought Ein should have reacted to being hit with a can

She's nuts so it's hard to tell.

Nice Jet episode focusing on his past. I didn't remember he was a cop. And that is a nice place to live it seems, a Jupiter's Moon.

Anyway, the guy looked like a jerk, but he actually got in trouble because of the woman. Everyone makes mistakes, and I think Jet made the right choice.

Once again great episode and fantastic music, and they made some more dough! It seems Bebop is on a roll lately :P

Oh Ed's movements creep me out!

Jet walking away like a boss. That completed the episode, his past seems rather simplistic compared to Spike (can't say much yet though) but yea. Interesting, reminded me why I watched the first 9 episodes back to back

While would she do that? She wasn't the one that had bounty on her head and I shooting herself would solve absolutely nothing.

Alisa was a bit of a selfish bitch if you ask me. So what if he was controlling? Jet's the man, and obviously knew better than to get involved with loan sharks and losers in general.

She sure did make some wonderful life choices after she left him.(And yes, I know that she mentioned that she wanted to live her own life, even if it meant making bad decisions). Doesn't stop me from having no sympathy for her.

Either way, brilliant episode. I love these low-key, more personal stories in Bebop(Waltz for Venus is a good example). They make for some bittersweet drama.

Probably my second favorite episode. I like Jet quite a lot as a character, and this added quite a bit to him. I somewhat understand Alisa, though. After all, when someone else is making all of the choices for you and not allowing you to live on your own two feet....that's not really living. Like her, I'd rather live for myself or at least with a partner that I could be on equal terms with. Though, she definitely could have chosen someone better, I suppose.

I think in many other series, the character in Jet's shoes may of let them go. I thought it was quite cool that he actually caught them and turned them in. Yet, it goes without saying that the money pretty much didn't factor into his actions.

Also, it would have been a retarded story choice to have her kill herself. It would have completely undermined the message.

Ed throwing Ein around made me happy, she's starting to grow on me even though she talks in thrid person.

The music really ties things together, once again made it for me.

I'm getting used to the episode format as well, with no story really, but there still is. It's weird, anyone else feel the same way?

Closure is always satisfying. It is a shame that Alisa didn't talk to Jet about her problems with their relationship, but I am glad they separated. Bebop wouldn't be the same without Jet. He is a good anchor for the crew, and an excellent cook by the looks of it...

I love how Jet told the fool to be stronger. Now, will we get a back story to his fake arm?

I can imagine Jet as a control freak in the old days or maybe the wife was weak willed. One of the two. gg

I love this character development on Jet.
Honestly, even though I love Spike, Jet is really close to being my favorite.

For some reason, I'm not convinced he was much of a control freak but more of a leader that knew structure and order. I know people who tell others how it is, and you normally follow because it's a great plan. Alisa was probably having a bit of an identity crises and while trying to find herself, used him as a scapegoat because she relied on him so much.

Easily my favorite episode of the series thus far. I like Jet, and it was nice seeing his back story. I found myself frustrated with Jet's ex, since she seemed to be a weak companion for such a strong willed guy. in the end though, the episode wasn't about her, but about Jet learning that time does indeed go one and doesn't stop for anyone, now he can forget about that hag and move on to greener pastures.
