Like attracts like, maybe? :p
Well, I was also skeptical about working to start with, but it came to me after 2 episodes that no one in the show is normal, and it became an enjoyable business. Then suddenly, YAMADA.

Just saw your review for Sarai-ya, and found out that we have 86.2% compat, so dropping in to say hi.
Also, Sarai-ya was such a waft of fresh air from the cliched staples we usually get, along with Yojohan, and surprisingly, working!!.

Yeah, I think I might have to remove one of my favorites after I finish it.
No, I love my nobles sitting in chairs and talking about random stuff :D

Yeah, plus KyoAni was the one who did it (KyoAni did Fumoffu as well, while Gonzo did the first series).
Oh man, LotGH. I just started that, but it seems way too long for me. I guess that's what summer's for.

Yeah, TSR is much better. While I did like the first season, I admit there were a lot of problems with it. There was a lot of filler, and while some of it weren't bad (such as the Afghanistan arc), some just come at really bad times. Plus, it did combine comedy and action, so I guess it's just love it or hate it.
However, The Second Raid focuses solely on the action and drama. The action is much smoother, and it actually looks amazing. The characters are developed much better, and the tone is a lot more serious. In my opinion, it's the best iteration so far, but Fumoffu isn't that far behind, either (it's pretty much my favorite comedy anime).

I can see where you're coming from, and i'd say that was probably what they were aiming for, but I don't think they pulled it off nearly as well. On top of that, Hellsing has also become repetitive as of OVA IV, which is why I bumped it down from a gloriously stupidly awesome 10 to a 9. And the repetitiveness is lessened by the fact that there are multiple characters and multiple storylines for it to vary through, as opposed to the one thinly-spread story that goes through Afro Samurai, with the exception of flashbacks. And even then there isn't much alternation.

I have quite a few things against Afro Samurai, mainly the cast, and the fact that the plot was non-existent and the fight scenes (which took up about 80% of the series) were all boring and consisted entirely of "Afro goes somewhere, people attack Afro, Afro is never in any real danger, people die for no real reason, repeat", with only one exception.

Hey, since you seemed interested in symbolism and philosophical themes, and could put up with the weirdness of Texhnolyze, I'll recommend you Serial Experiments Lain. I could go into more detail, but I think the reviews on it will be more helpful than anything I can offer.

I don't know if I should congratulate you or pity you but we have the highest compatibility I have found so far in MAL - 94,8%. The funny thing is we don't share so many anime or have so similar scores.
Oh, and if you liked Texhnolyze you should probably watch Serial Experiments Lain. Both have a similar feeling.

Don't mind it.
I agree with you, I used the wrong word. Not philosophy, maybe something like... psychology? Emotions? Or something like you said.
About being superior, you didn't really understand my post, or I am just so bad at showing my thoughts. Well, nevermind.

Actually, I think you misunderstood me, maybe that's my fault, I am neither good writer nor good english speaker (keep reading I explained it later).
"And throughout the movies we see a battle between consequentialist and deontological theories"
Say what? Consequentialist and deontological? Aren't you looking a little too hard in it?
"And also because I see that you are not the kind of person who likes deep philosophical animes."
Quite the opposite. I love deep philosophy, but that doesn't mean that I am thinking about anime like that: " While looking at anime chracter I wonder what kind of philosophy this person would fit to... hmmm...". No, no, absolutely not! By deep, I mean something that really moves my heart and force me to start thinking over something - that's my definition.
I rated low Aoi Bungaku, because I couldn't feel the atmosphere of that anime. Maybe I will rewatch it someday, I dropped it, cause I am really impatient while watching any series. I dropped Texhnolyze also, well, I have seen just one episode and I noticed that this anime is much too dark, there was almost no speaking (if there was any, I don't remember) and I also couldn't see anything (maybe the video quality's fault). I expected something better from author of Serial Experiments Lain. That's just the type of person I am.
"I started the conversation because I wanted to know the reason you rated it as the worst anime ever. I would have not bothered if you were a kid, but you are 20 years old and I thought I would hear interestingly reasonable answer. I was wrong. Nevermind."
Hou? All right, you are really enjoying this aren't you? You're insulting me and you know that, don't you? Please restrain from such replies or else I will not continue this conversation.
I did not say that it is the worst anime ever, but well, it is one of the worst, though.
Is interesting conversation, in your opinion, talking with a person, who uses difficult language, or uses terms, that normal person usually doesn't? I hope I am wrong, because that would be rude, I guess (or something else, but I will restrain myself from saying this).
Also in your post I could feel your superiority over me. You shouldn't do it or else you won't have many friends - please listen to your senpai's advice (can you see the allusion?).
And for the ending, please don't hate me for this post. I don't feel anything bad towards you, I was just shocked - I didn't expect to see repilies like this.

I am sorry for this so late reply, I was pretty busy recently.
I won't discuss over characters. It's a matter of tastes. I will say it again: I hate all the characters in this series, because they have many things I HATE in anime.
Murder, suicide, rape? And what's the moral? I haven't seen anything like this. Symbolism? What is this symbolism for? The flow of life? What for? That's what I call pseudo-philosophy - seems like you are talking about something serious but nothing comes out of it - useless babbling.
I have no intention of watching this movies few times. Maybe only once in distant future, but not now for sure.
