This is the Japanese dub of RWBY, but also includes Japanese subtitles if watched with English audio. I don't think the original version of RWBY fits the Anime DB guidelines.

6k for RWBY lol.

Next week we shall have some Earth shattering sales with the School Idol Movie, I reckon. Any update on Stalker estimates so far, Ejc? I recall it being at 112k last time and it should have some storefront bias.

It didn't come out of nowhere. Stalker estimates below:

4,934 Limited Edition BD
1,968 Amazon Limited Edition BD
*,819 Regular Edition BD
*,844 Regular Edition DVD

So sales were not surprising at all. If anything, it did a bit lower than was expected.

*73,632 Limited Edition
*57,416 Amazon Limited Edition
**4,826 Regular Edition
**2,094 Amazon Regular Edition
137,968 Total

The Amazon Limited Edition was not possible to be preordered between Dec 6 to 14, which is why the graph (http://www27392u.sakura.ne.jp/show.cgi?n=B014GXQM7Q) on Stalker looks very funny, and it means that it was not gaining Stalker points at the rate it should've been gaining. The Limited Edition was already at #1 for a long period, so even when sales shifted to this edition, the Limited Edition was capped at 2,400 Stalker points per day.

But yes, the Movie was also very strong at storefront at stores such as Animate, gamers, softmap, etc, so it will possibly be underestimated too.

It would be nice to know the prices as well. As far as I know rwby is some corwdfunding thing with a horrible CG that doesn't seem like something you would want to expose your eyes to. So, was it really, really cheap?

Weird seeing that RWBY thing in these rankings because it's not anime but whatever, sure there's some reasoning behind the madness.

4,559 4,559 To LOVE-Ru Darkness 2nd Vol.4 Limited Edition

Fab to see sales remaining relatively consistent. Impressive after how many seasons it's had.

Frozen wasn't. This isn't consistent.
RWBY shouldn't even be on here if it isn't in the database.
Korra wasn't either. So why RWBY? Pretty random tbh. I can't even think of a single non anime title that was present on one of these DIsc sales threads on MAL.

Please elaborate.

Well if it was omitted then it wasn't on here right?
That's exactly what I'm saying. There isn't a single prior case of MAL listing something in the disc sales that isn't in their database

So non anime stuff isn't on here all the time. It's NEVER on here. Except for this one case of RWBY

Everyone complaining about the animation in the first season should remember that it was made by a MACHINIMA web company, with a low budget, and a small staff. Seasons 2 and 3 are a LOT better in EVERY aspect.

I would add RWBY as an ONA but hey, not my site, not my rules.

^ this.

You want RWBY and western animation on MAL?

How about Wuxia/Xinxia novels and WNs/VNs first.

Why do we have Manhuas on this site but not their corresponding source material?

OT: RWBY selling so well? Such surprise...

As for RWBY, color me surprised. I personally liked the universe and setting, but the 'animation', ass pulls and lack of logic got to me in season 2.

I don't watch as much anime as before...

Technically anything animated could be called 'anime' considering it's a french word for cartoon. According to wiki, Japan uses the term for anything animated as well, so.. I'd say it could count.
