Filler is almost certain. But it seems to be getting to the point a lot quicker than the first season. I think there was probably only about 6 or 7 episodes of plot in the first season with the rest being filler of varying quality. Still, the filler so far seems to be of a bit higher quality than before.
I spent half of the first season waiting rather than enjoying what was happening on screen. The Slice of Life wasn't bad, but I wanted more scenes like Misaka vs the giant foetus. I was kind of expecting Season 2 to be like the first with mostly filler and only a few good action scenes.
Then Accelerator tore off the clone's leg. I really hope this is a sign that they're going to focus on the plot and minimise filler. Especially now that it's stronger than it was throughout the entirety of Season 1. If it keeps going in this direction, it could be one of the best anime this year
Well when you think about it, just about anything is more thought provoking than that show. In fact, just looking at random things lying around in my room I can a few.
Right in front of me I see a Madoka Magica poster, Beatles calendar, Black Sabbath CD, the box of Gears of War 3 and a guitar. Without any effort, I found five inanimate objects that are deeper than Aku no Hana.
Literally the only reason why people like it is because it's different. The 'professional reviewers' praising the show may have long paragraphs. But the content is basically the same as the guy on Youtube with a meme avatar (Or a picture of Kirito from SAO, take your pick) saying 'this sho isso epic!!!!!! is better then the typical moe ecchi harem shit lollololololrsk8s XDDDDDDDDDDDDD'
Back from my ban. While I was banned I finally got around to watching Kino's Journey. I'm guessing that the people who call Aku no Hana 'Deep' and 'Thought provoking' never saw Kino.
Not sure if I'm going to get into Free, if it at least involves them doing things rather than just nothing the entire time (HidaSketch, looking at you), I'll probs give it a go.
I'm going to try Green Green and see if it impresses me. It gets ripped apart like School Days only I may want to see if it has something no one even saw.
About Crime Edge, might be arsed to drop it if it's going to be more and more like Mirai Nikki. Already don't like it.
The funny part is that I would still have recommend 2.0 had 3.0 not been a steaming pile of 'deep'.
