if someone is too muck of a fan, either ignore them, or secretly make fun of them....

because hate is like something that leads death.

You know you have gone to far, when the ordinary fans of the topic won't associate with you.

For instance, cosplay, it's not weird at a convention, it's likely weird anywhere else.

Anime on clothing is not weird, it is weird of no one ever sees you wear anything else.

Having some anime stuff if ok, appearing to have nothing but anime stuff means you likely need perspective.

Watching anime each day is nothing. Watching anime all day every day means you need perspective.

Know the names of the people that made the anime is nothing. Knowing where they live likely makes you a dangerous freak.

There is no wrong age for anime, but each age can have wrong behaviour.

It's ok to love your anime, it is likely weird if you can't handle someone not liking your anime.

If they think you are a freak for liking anime, it's ok to call them a freak for liking whatever it is they like, as everyone likes something. You can always put them in the same place they put you.
If a jock calls you a geek, you just call them brainless muscle.
If a cheerleader calls you a geek, you just call her an empty headed sperm sponge.
EEEEEveryone has a weakness.

An anime website is nothing odd, as long as it is anime in general. A shrine might be going to far.
Hey you can fine shrines to anything, but that just means every topic will have it's freaks. Try not to be an anime freak.
While not technically anime, currently I am a big fan of Hatsune Miku.
At least I can go see her in concert.

Any kind of unhealthy obsession is bad, unhealthy here being something that overshadows all other aspects of your life and has negative effects on other areas. Physically attacking someone because of fandom is the last drop of madness, whether it's beating someone over what's better, Bleach or Naruto, or burning someone because they don't believe in your imaginary friends.

But this is why we have laws, so we can put crazy fuckers like these in jail. And everyone lived happily ever after.

i think that if you can't go like a full day without talking about an anime.. or you dress up as an anime, see sudden resemblances of an anime character in a certain person (ex. bruce lee = rock lee, gackt = cloud strife, etc), have many items about that anime (some you don't even use..) and.. like make poems, stories, songs, comics about that anime and think of it as your career and sole purpose for living...

then it may be a wee bit to much fandom.

I think it's a pathetic state when you have to be so completely obsessed with something FICTIONAL that you can't function without it or accept that some people don't like it as much as you. Kinda creepy actually.

Can we say mental illness? Maybe its schizophrenia and the characters are talking to them... o_O;

It's not like that's something new. We just seem to be going from religion over to entertainment and media obsession, whether it's worshipping musicians and actors or fictional characters.

There's only one way that someone can say that they are too obsessed;

when it's something that you liked, and other fans make you hate the thing.

In other words;

fans ruin everything, or at least overly obsessed fans do.

Jesusfuck, the Twilight nerds need to chill the fuck out. It's a fucking book/movie franchise. I mean people have insulted Hokuto no Ken and Gundam in front of me (which made me want to go ATATATATATATATATA on them) but I just usually say "Well if you don't like Hokuto No Ken or Gundam you've never seen them, want to borrow some discs?" If they say no, then I'll usually be like "Fine, your missing out, you fucking faggot." If they say yes, and watch them, and don't like it, then they have my respect.

I'm all for dissing something, but only if you've tried it out first. I mean baseless bashing of a subject is just kind of retarded. I tried reading Twilight. I got through maybe 4 pages before I felt the intense urge to kill myself. I don't make fun of it that often, for the fear of the rapid She-Wolf of the SS fans though.

Now, as far as extreme fandom goes, I don't really see a problem with it unless it's hurting somebody else. I'm somewhat of an extreme fan of anime, but not to the point of it actually intefering with my life, so I can't really talk to extreme anime fandom. That's just my opinion of myself though - many people would probably find me to be an extreme over the top anime zealot.

Edit: Also, we don't know how many of those stories are true. A lot of them seem like well thought-out trolls to me.
I'm back.

Sounds like an oxymoron. heehee :P

When I think of "extreme fandom" I'm thinking about are the anime fans who dress up out of conventions and get very angry (not necessarily physically - verbally as well) at people for not liking what they like. Not just somebody who watches a ton of anime and buys posters and such. IE if someone runs up and starts screaming and cussing me out for saying I don't like such-and-such anime, I'd say they are a little extreme.

essentially, they're whoever their target audience needs them to be. which is why i have no idea why people are actually pissed that kanye west did that to taylor swift. really, she should be writing him a thank you letter, and so should beyonce. you think ANYONE was gonna remember she won that if he hadn't done that? absolutely not. he boosted both their careers.
my point being, he did it for publicity too. but it passes as his "douchebag personality" so at the end of the day, most musicians are hand crafted unless your personally involved with them off stage. and some of them are just evil jewish cyborgs, like the jonas brothers.

So here's my question, considering the picture in the post.

Even though her appearance might seem like a non starter, if she liked waking you by sucking you off, because the feel of your manhood unloading in her mouth while you were barely aware of what you were doing turned her on, would you be ok with calling her your girffriend?

Would it help if she wasn't wearing anything under the skirt, because nothing made her hotter than being bent over by you and fucked good and hard. Could you love her? :)

When you start harming yourself or other people, it's dangerous. When you neglect things that were previously essential and important to you, ie your family, friends, school, job, health, etc, or when you disrespect the opinions, property and safety of others for the sake of proving a point about your anime.

People who lock themselves up in a basement with their 10 shelves of figurines and a harem of hug pillows may be obsessed, but at least pretty harmless.

Those guys will remain a myth in our beloved North America. As in, the % of anime fans who actually behave that way is minuscule at best. I dunno about Japan though.

Well, what I meant was something like, lashing out at people because they have a different opinion on an anime. "Omg you don't like Naruto? You fag!" type of thing.

You're right, it's not harmful, but it sure is stupid XD Hope that clears it up!
